That meat is so good in Prague ! That duck looks so interesting with the potato dumplings inside. We both weren’t fans of duck but you made it look so good. I feel like you guys could make any food look good the way Ross explains the taste and Bek does the broll of food haha
Another fantastic video, guys! Haha, it looks like having a "catching hand" is a must when enjoying those open-face sandwiches! The meatloaf and duck also looks really tasty!
Hi guys, you nailed that with the food - I really appreciate you have found real good of quirky examples of Czech foods that Czechs love. The open sandwich aka chlebicky [:khlebeechki ] is very typical finger meal for receptions or celebrations, but yet stays unnoticed by many visitors. This dish has been through some revival when new creations are made with wide variety of new toppings and flavors :). And having such beautiful roast duck for 129 CZK - I can't belive you could find such price in Prague for such portion. Good on ya! I would guess 160 - 200 CZK would be more typical!
Love your food tours so much! Those open sandwiches look AMAZING, can you put them in the mail and ship them to us?? Haha. The duck dish looks so good too, so juicy and a side of dumplings, cannot go wrong with that. Another great video guys!
..Ive only just discovered your channel.. and I'm in love... One thing though... I absolutely love your "DESCRIPTION"... well formatted, ease to read, filled with helpful information... Love it..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW "Open face sandwich" called "Chlebíčky", really something traditional from 1875. U can translate it as "Little Breads" ( Bread - chléb ). Our first president Tomáš G. Masaryk loves them (1918).
Meatloaf with mustard and pickle 🤤 The burger looks really yummy 🤤 Though I don't eat red meat but they look so good The duck dish looks amazing My wife loves duck skin That ice cream with sour cherry must be really good Thanks for sharing guys Sorry just able to catch up with you we've been ill the last week. It's finally spring here Have a great day guys
Oh wow Czech food!! Haha even when you put the name on the screen, I can't figure out how to read it either XD THAT looks delicious!! Medium rare meat sandwich - oh yes!!
Hey mate! Nice to see you eating our foods! The first one chlebíčky - its like "chlebeetchki" and it is one of our tradational food for ages. It is unique, it is due to the communist regime i think. The white bread is calld "Veka" :-) It is kind of a bigger baguet but the dough is like a czeck roll, bigger czech roll is Veka. The toppings are almost anything you want. But we like to eat it with a ham, potato salad, pickles, pickled pepper, you name it. And it is very traditional treat when we celebrate something, always on birthday parties, new years eve or just to serve something to your guest. but you can eat it whenever you want , just like you did :). One shop in the Prague made a really big improvement with them - Sisters! You gotta try them, it is not so traditional, but delicious as f... and its next to the butcher you were, just right in front of it :D. The butche your visited owns František Kšána one of the best butcher in our country, he has such love to the meat and hes doing it darn good way, traditional way, I love it there. I always stop by when Im in Prague for sausages, meatloaf, anything. The pork knuckle is always a good way to treat yourself, but not as traditional as svíčková sauce :-). but definitely one of our top food what are we ordering in the pubs :-). The duck is traditional, we cook it for Sundays lunch, big treat, good food, more of the village food where everybody has own animals (ducks). But the one you had doesn't seem so much traditional to me. I dont like that branch of the restaurants, kinda like branches, fast food than the tradition. :-) The last thing - the sweet one - Trdelník it is not a czech food, but we do it a lot - it is originally from the Slovakia village :-). but it a s good one. If you want me to help you next time with the food here, let me know. I would be glad to help you with the food! Cheers mate, greetings from the Pilsen, Czech Republic! BTW Nice christmas to y'all
Czech food loves bread i think!! I feel like like czech food has alot of french influence? Just the presentation and ingredients.. The bread is very crunchy!! Nice tare tare!!! I wouldnt mind trying it
We got actually influence from all sides Aš we Are the centre of Europe And Been part of many empires, Its really North West east south mixed together.
Hi Ross and Bek: Thanks so much for your video. The food looked wonderful. I was especially intrigued by the restaurant where you had the duck. I went to Prague some years ago and also noticed the favoritism for duck - one of my favorite foods. I happened across a place that sold it and it also had a lot of wood in the buildings inner. I have since lost the name/address of the place but it was truly a highlight of my stay there. It was so busy they couldn't give me a table but I sat on a stool in the bar area. The food knocked me out!!! The staff were extremely kind - gave me free drinks etc. Do toy happen to know the name/address of that restaurant where you were? I would be very grateful. Thanks D
The eggy mess looks interesting 😱 It looks shredded which I've never seen before! O I would love the smoked salmon one too! Haha Bek is smart with the catching hand 😂 Ross happy dance after the first bite of tartare? Hahahah that's how you know it's good! So interesting how they stuff potato dumplings in the duck. Never heard of that but it looks incredible 😍 OMG I'm obsessed with chimney cakes!!!! That's gotta be my fav!
I love Czech ( Czechia - Bohemia) and i love Czech food goulash and Beer .But other goodies Czech, For example, an excellent meat. And Prague a major city in the middle of Europe.
@@rossandbek2407 tell me about it when went to Poland few years ago it was like 50cents and the choice was unbelivable i lived on beer and dumplings 4 weeks !!! Lol
@@rossandbek2407 yep all these money wasted on alcohol at ridiculous prices here can quickly pay for overseas ticket and quality fun there with excellent choices...well i didnt say i stopped drinking 4 ever lol cheers
Not 3 best czech dishes. 1. Taste is individual. 2. There is regional cuisine you simply cannot taste in prague, nor in most of the country, but for it is as outstanding as proper goulash.
Mmmm can never go with the smoked salmon but the most interesting thing that I gotta try is that duck with sour crout and stuffed with dumplings. That sounds incredible! 😍 duck is so yum!
That meatloaf looks amazing! The city architecture looks incredible :D I love how the chimney ice cream is coated with nuts, double chocolate ice cream and brownie bonus - that's just heavenly!
Then the humanity shouldn't be degenerate if it spends time watching videos of someone eating something in a foreign country. The best of all are Americans who don't even recognize unfamiliar food and think that everything is some kind of weird hamburger.
