The dark background is such a simple solution but absolutely genius. I can’t believe I didn’t think of it before! I’ve seen multiple dry-embossing tutorials and not one of them thought to use a dark background. It’s always been “use a light pad,” “a window” or “glass table top with light under it.” Thank you for sharing this beautiful technique!
You are such an inspiration! Nothing you do is a bad idea and nothing costs lots of unnecessary amounts of money. I can't thank you enough especially since I'm a pensioner. Thank you lovely lady🤗😘🌻
Similar to Pergamano work. I used to make pergamano cards by hand, traced every picture and made every cross with tiny curved, very sharp scissors. And used wax crayons and oil to colour it in. It also used a technique, with sharp needle pin tools, to create texture. Was lots of fine work, won't be able to do that again 🤣
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for sharing this! I love embossing but cannot afford an embossing machine. I am so excited to try this. Blessings Pam
Thank you for showing how to emboss vellum/tracing paper using things like paint brush end, or embossing tools. I love your butterflies, as they look lovely against the dark background. They do resemble lace! So beautiful! ~Janet in Canada
I just watched another video about the same thing but your idea is much easier using stencils and tracing paper. I can't wait to try it. Thank you for inspiring me. I just subscribed to your channel. This is the first time I've seen your channel. ❤❤❤
You have some amazing ideas! I love the look of the embossed tracing paper. It really does look like lace, it's so delicate and beautiful Noit. Wonderful!❤
Thank you for this really useful tutorial! I have a big stash of colored vellum, and now I can use my stencils to make some neat embellishments, or even overlays for some of my gel prints. I will have to try to use my sprays and alcohol inks to color these too. Thank you, Noit :)
This is such a wonderful tutorial. I have a large selection of regular and colored vellum and a pad of tracing paper. Another great way to use your stencils. They are so pretty and delicate looking and your journal pages are amazing. Thanks for sharing.
I had no idea that Tracing Paper is similar to Vellum. I have used fairly thick vellum before and what I liked about the look of that thicker vellum is the dimension you can achieve - by 'coloring' in an image (as you say in tiny circular motions with a stylus), it not only turns the translucent vellum to a white color but it also gives the image a dimensional 'domed' effect and its absolutely gorgeous. However, sometimes when working with thicker vellum, the stylus can 'drag' instead of 'glide' across the vellum but to eliminate this and make it much easier on your hand/wrist (especially for those of us who have arthritis), you can take a piece of wax paper & put it on top of the vellum and then color image in OR take your stylus and rub it back-and-forth over a piece of wax paper and then take it to your stencil or stamped image which you 'color' in from the back. By doing this, the wax stays on the stylus for a bit and helps it to glide across the vellum. I hope that makes sense LOL. Thanks for sharing this great tip, Noit!
Our tracing paper her in US is much lighter thinner paper. The vellum I bought here is much heavier. I think it might crack. I will try it just to be sure I'm not making a mistake. Looks like a could work. Thank you for sharing this technique Noit. Just listening to the sound of your paper I can tell it's the same as what I have here. Wow I have to pay quite a lot for vellum here.
Your so great at sharing ideas. I’ve only started journaling for the past few months now. I find your techniques very informative and easy to follow. I also love to paint which since Covid I’ve learned I can paint. I’m sharing this because I’m really enjoying watching your videos as I like a lot of your styles. Im also incorporating some painting along with journaling such as trees then using a fancy napkin with a beautiful bird to put on a tree limb. I just wanted to say a special thanks 😊👏👏💕
OMG! This is brilliant!! I have plenty of stencils but not many embossing folders so this is going to be my new go to when it comes to embossing!! Thank you for such a great idea!! 😍💖
I have tried to run tracing paper with a embossing folder but it would split the paper.Glad I seen this video.Good tip on using curve scissor to fussy cut.
Have you tried dampening the tracing paper first? Like with a misting spray? I saw tips of doing this with “dry embossing” to regular paper/cardstock, maybe it will work with tracing paper as well
Wow this is fantastic. I love the simplicity of this technique. I will be trying this out. I wonder how it looks with a painted surface. I will need to try that too. Thank you so much for sharing this technique.
