I always figured that Vampires couldn't see their reflection because the most common mirrors are made from silver.
A movie of warhammer would be very interesting
It would either only tell a story from one corner of the warhammer world (most likely the empire), or it would need to become a "cinematic universe" of epic proportions. I for one hope to sigmar it's the later
yeah a movie that would build up to one.
Or a tv series
Or a Netflix series.
Warhammer end times would make an epic movie
What makes Warhammer lore so much more fascinating than most other fantasy lore is that it had many writers who often contradict each other, just like real history has many chroniclers that often contradict each others.
That's called bad writing retard
Just bought the Von Carstine Vampire War trilogy so this is absolute perfect timing, for my favorite faction.
Only wish we got a big time Skin Wolf faction and then everything would be complete
I have been into Warhammer and read up on lore for years, but between this and some of the Tomb Kings stuff you filled in a few gaps. Good job!
You all should take a look at World of Darkness / Chronicles of Darkness Vampires. They are very much like the Warhammer vampires that choose to live hidden among humans. They are excellent roleplaying games...
Wonder if I could just port one of those roleplaying games into the Warhammer Fantasy universe...
Turn ``An Alien Hunger (Thirst it is)´´ into Vampire Dark Ages, and you are mostly there.
Idk where it stands in the lore now, but in
"Drachenfels: A Genevieve Novel", it's explained that there are vampire strains that change how some of them are killed by steaks or can't cross whatever or so on. This also reflects the models well.
LOL! Killed by steaks? Cool, van Helsing still had to ram a wooden stake thru each vampire heart.
OMG, You made a video on the Vampire Counts! Thanks man! We asked and you delivered! You ROCK Mr.Thick :-)
Good intro to the Vampire Counts. Looking forward to the following vids.
😮 Astonishing!Mate you do a top notch job on these videos and i find myself unable to stop watching😮.Superb lore .lovely background music 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I really, really appreciate your lore videos. And I actually like your rumbling, it's something I do myself ^^
Bro, he doesn't ramble he NARRATES! And most people on you tube don't have said skill. Arch used to be be good, but has kind of gone of course.
I have watched many WH and WH40k lore videos and yours are just right. Others have been over done.
I read the books and know of vampires that walk in the daylight Red Thrist is the name of the novel by Jack Yeovil
Great video but if I could offer some feedback please turn down the background music as it does interfere with what you are saying at points, making it harder to hear what you are saying.
In the end of days novels, Mannfred Von Carstein manages to turn a she High Elf into a vampire (she commits suicide later).
This she elf was an acquaintance of Tyrion. And she had gone with the party to rescue the everchild who had been kidnapped.
@A H Well, I did.
@A H Probably not ...
@@tiffles3890 she elf? Just say she female once 😐
@@TaiLung145 Yes. It was a female High Elf.
Also "she Elf" is a commonly used term in fantasy writings.
Here "high elf" denotes species, not gender, so the "she" before it isn't redundant
@@tiffles3890 but you dont say he elf so why would you say she elf?
Great video dude. Informative af
YEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Now I want to know who the vampire count was, before they became vampire (thanks your story) from Indonesia 🇮🇩
sick. subbed.
9 dislikes from human cattle
Please do a bretonnia lore vid soon
Now I have a question how come Vlad von carstein didn't seem to die after being impaled by silver or having his head cut off what made his as it seems imune to most of these rules?
Edit: I get his ring was unique but he still was powerful even before he has his ring
Interesting enough, is that Vampire origins are more Egyptian rather than Romania, then many people know, they were essentially the restless dead who drained the life force from their victims & in turn condemned to a living death,
Dracula just took place in Romania (The Johnt Harker Portion), But was written in Ireland.
I don’t know if it works this way in _Warhammer,_ but I like to think that sufficiently sized bodies of water have their own ley lines/flow of magic/whatever that breaks through the magic fields of the land next to them, and since vampires are so incredibly magical and have magically enhanced senses, suddenly passing out of the magic field they’re currently ‘tuned’ to into one that is very different is an extremely disruptive and disorientating experience. You’re chasing some insignificant bloodbag and are just about to catch it when all your senses are blasted with static, you’ve completely lost any frame of reference as to the spatial dimensions you are currently occupying, and you’re experiencing an overall sensation somewhat similar to that experienced by people who’ve had the misfortune of closing an electric circuit with their own bodies.
29:18 sound like wod vampire the masquerade. With the bloodlines and generations
hell yeah love playing the vampires in WH2 :D Vlad is a monster in melee :D
Vlad daddy
The Von Carstine Vampire War trilogy is the best of all warhammer fb books. Its so good that feels like a real thing, not some childish fanservice.
if the vampier cant sail the sea's tell me why we have luthor harkon ? i mean you don't see luthor harkon carrying around a jar saying ( I've got a jar of dirt...I've got a jar of dirt ...I've got a jar of dirt...and guess whats inside it ) hahahaha
Make a army lore video, also other warhammer 1,2,3 and maybe age of sigmar army lore please.
Fantastic video, I am indeed proud too be a thick boy lolxd!... 😅
There is an Orc vampire in Matt Forbeck's Blood bowl book series.
I have never heard of vampires having trouble with water in warhammer. What is your source for this? Also if Nagash did curse them. Why would he remove this curse that gives him leverage against them?
When and how did the vampires establish a realm?
I go into more detail on that in my Vlad Von Carstein lore video if you are interested.
Political marriage.
What if.... the magic concoction is simply attuned to human genes and that's why all vampires are humans?
By the way, it may be a different world, but WH vampires can be made and played very nicely in ESO.
Maybe I missed a video or something but the Tomb King's original origin before undeath and then to undeath seems convoluted or vague? Like were they not present when the Old Ones were still here?
commenting for the glorious algorithm yes-yes!
Bring back this amazing universe!!!!
Late to the party, but what books would you recommend for vampire counts?
Has there ever been mention of the general number of vampires in the world?
I would love to know this also.
17 major, a few hundred lesser.
Nah! Totally made up those numbers, I have no idea XD
They're quite rare.
Hence why they use undead minions.
2nd most powerful undead after liches created by the true elixir of immortality which created liches like Nagash and Arkhan.
They're even rarer.
Whos stronger a vampire or an imortal?
Just a weird, random question. Can vampires in warhammer consume human food/drinks? I know most fiction says vampires can't; in some it even kills them. Is there any clear example of a vampire eating to blend into human society in warhammer?
So, their actually are examples of this in several of the novels. A fresh vampire will throw up any food and liquid it consumes and it acts almost like a poison. However, if it is mixed with blood they can consume it. It does not have to be human blood either. But, an older more experienced vampire can stifle the more negative effects of being dead and will not immediately retch if it is forced to consume food socially, though they will have to expel it later.
THICC BOIYZZ 😂😂
Well well well.
Love it lad!
Hi, are you the same person that made the "universal death clock" video. It's a minecraft video about astronomy, sort of.
A part of me died at Frugelhofen! 🙃
One other small thing, and PLEASE don't take this as a sign of massive criticism/hate. I have been noticing that in a couple of your previous videos, you have gone into HYPER MODE. What I mean by that, is the fact that you just started to spurt lines out at increasing speed. I do not try to speak for the whole community, but... In my humble opinion, you really do get the point across much better, when you take you time. Honestly man you have this INCREDIBLE narrator voice, and when you go into full turbo, it just really seems to lose its charm. I mean perhaps I'm sounding like a condescending idiot, yet I must say that I really don't mind if your videos go on for an extra 5-8 minutes, just because you take your time with things. Please take this on board as a bit of constructive criticism. P.S. We love you MR.Thick and we all hope that you new born daughter is doing well :-)
Skip into about 3 minutes to get to the Info :) your welcome
Is there alot of contradicting lore in Warhammer? I though the first vampires sprouted from the failure to reproduce Nagashes elixir. Not from drinking Arkan the Blacks Blood.
Edit: the Strigoi video clears this up. Tbh the novels seem to have more interesting lore as Jumbo Thicc states.
Yes there is. I chose to go with the depictions in the fantasy novels. This event plays out in the second book of the Nagash trilogy Nagash the Unbroken.
@@jumbothick2984 I'm in your Strigoi lore video now and you actually mention this very thing. I was just coming back to edit my comment. 😂 I'm enjoying these lore videos btw. Good job with them.
Shame only human vampires. I feel like a dark elf vampire would be pretty cool.
I dont like that you called our lord and savior Nagash and his friends...... cronies
Hey I'm really hoping you see this and can answer. You said you don't consider grail knights completely human? I can understand chaos warriors and such, but why grail knights? Or do you have a video that explains?
The lady of the lake makes them drink a magic elixir from the grail. I believe the chaos warriors drink a similar elixir in their inception. Basically the argument comes from the question of whether or not the lady of the lake can be considered an offshoot of chaos gods.
The arrogance comes with the territory. Theyre immortal beings wielding impossible magics to most mortals and even some immortals and are powerful enough alone to rival armies and terrorize states. Of course theyre arrogant I would be too
You have an attractive voice... >.>
I realise I'm years down the line but regarding the "Thick boys" & "cult of thick"; I would have suggested the "Jumboys" as a term. 😊
can we have more info and lore on zacharias the everliving for such a great table top lord there no lore?
He is mentioned in my video on Necrarchs and W’soran if you are interested, but sadly there isn’t a ton on him.
There is only war
dark elf druchii is pronounced "Drew Key"
I like my Warhammer lore like I like I my women, Thicc af...
The music is distracting. Great otherwise though
there compain i hard bedost the lokasen they havde
Hmmh... I'd like these more in a style of a reading an audiobook of sorts. Narration.
The free flowing style can fit some people but for me, all the pauses and "umm"''s kind of take me away from listening.
If you're familiar with "IdeasOfIceAndFire" videos... that's more like what I personally like to listen to... I wonder if anyone has made anything in that style regarding WFB...
