    Thank you for going through the trouble and process of showing in detail how to join corners. I will be making raised beds this Spring and don’t have any of the fancy tools after number 8-just the basic ones. This makes me feel like my projects are doable and that I can do it on my own. What a relief. Your video inspired me. And I so appreciate all the detail. It’s the first one I’ve seen where the detail is given with such precision. Thank you, thank you, thank you!😊

    I'm glad I finally found a carpenter who knows how to use wood glue! Every video on RUclips the people glob the crap out of the glue making the sanding take 20+min. If you use the perfect amount there should be little to no drip.

    • @handy369
      @handy369  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for your valuable comments. I am still researching to adjust the amount of glue properly. As you said, if you use a lot of glue, you will spend a lot of time sanding. However, if you use too little, the adhesive strength will be weak. Thanks for watching. happy new year.😁👍

      Yes, you only need a thin layer of glue on one surface. Spread it evenly with your finger and wipe off any surplus with a damp cloth. BYW, don't use a hammer on wooden dowels, use a wooden or rubber mallet.

    Nice video! For anybody doing woodwork, it is better to use more glue than you might think you need. The most common type of joint failure is glue starvation, meaning not enough glue was applied. Clamping, screws, etc., take care of the excess glue. A wet rag can clean up the mess. As one improves, you can cut down on the amount of glue. In a joint, the edges do most of the work, so it is important to make sure that glue is spread throughout.
    I know there will be a keyboard warrior out there who will say, "Actually, the thinner the better because a one-molecule-thin layer of glue bonding wood to wood is theoretically the strongest." They would be right. But in woodwork, it is extremely difficult to get a perfect joint like that because of the nature of wood. A cut piece of wood will have surface height variations even if cut perfectly. When there is no squeeze out, you can't guarantee the entire joint was coated.
    Anyways, I digress. Use a good amount of glue and enjoy the craft, everyone!

    Спасибо мастеру ,однозначно полезное видео! Но приспособление для изготовления дюбелей дно, уж извините,но так и есть. При наличии сверлильного станка,на металлической пластинке от 5мм до 10мм делаются отверстия диаметром от 6мм до 16мм, а рядом с двух сторон делаются отверстия меньшего диаметра и стенки подрезаются(оОо) и у вас будет на всю жизнь удобнае приспособление. Есть достаточно видео, у меня такая, себе сделал. Очень удобно. Маленький брусочек от 16 начинаешь затачивать и до нужного диаметра,быстро и удобно. Уверен за малую сумму в мастерской с нужным станком такое сделают, однозначно стоящая вещь.

    Method no. 10 is the most strongest joint already proven by many load experiments.
    BTW, 3:06 you are using wrong screws for pocket holes. Coarse-thread Kreg Pocket-Hole Screws works are used for pocket holes.

    You got the title wrong. To JOINT wood, using a JOINTer, or various other methods if you don’t have a jointer, is the process of making one edge of a piece of wood straight, and flat. What your video shows is how to JOIN two pieces of wood.

    Видео отличное, но - обработка для начинающих, а откуда у начинающих такое количество спец.инструмента - дисковые пилы, станки для производства шипа - они же начинающие, у таких если только электролобзик и немного ручного инструмента. Но часть идей возьму на вооружение.

    It's all good but look at the tools he has to make exact cuts. He is using a fairly well equipped workshop. It would cost me around £1,000 to get similar tools. So how can a beginner do all he is doing. Should be titled for beginners with a full workshop.

      Thank you for your interest in the video.
      I used to live in the city and have been living in the countryside since 3 years ago. It was my dream to repair and live in a shabby country house. The tools in the studio were purchased one by one by saving money five years before coming to the countryside. These are the tools you need to fix a shabby country house.
      To collect these tools, I didn't drink, didn't travel, and saved money to buy these tools.
      It is not a tool purchased all at once. It is a tool collected over 5 years to achieve a dream.
      And I'm a beginner.

      @@handy369 Thanks for the reply. I am now 68 years young and love working with wood so I do struggle with the basic tools I have but at least i can get wood repairs done to a fair level. Looking to do things with old wooden pallets during my retirement. Good luck with what you do and take care.

    Не подскажете, зачем используется красное дерево? Для эстетики или просто такой шип крепче?
    Can you tell me why redwood is used? For aesthetics or just such a spike is stronger?

    • @handy369
      @handy369  2 года назад +1

      Redwood is a light, easy-to-process softwood.
      It is one of the most readily available and inexpensive building materials in Korea.
      It's not a particularly pretty or strong tree with a pattern.
