Hi. Many people make VHS or Hi8 camcorders as examples. I bought digital camcorders Panasonic SDR-S100 and Panasonic SV-AV50. Some recording devices do not work well with those devices. I wonder if Clearclick 2.0 will work on them. These devices can only record for about 25 mins 480p. I plan to record and save directly on this device so I can record longer than that (1hr or more). EDIT: I watched other videos that I just have to connect the camcorder and turn them on, and press the record button on the digital converter, and not on the camcorder. I wonder if that works on my camcorders as well. I'm excited to buy once I confirmed this matter!
My vcr only has the white and yellow cord, no red. Cannot get it to work with my clearclick. What am I missing? I know the vcr works, I watch it on my tv. What do I need?
Is there a way to boost the recorded audio? It's pretty thin and weak compared to other converters. Do the volume arrows help with the audio gain at all?

I have a Sony HandyCam CCD - TRV37. It only has 1 audio output jack just like the one shown 1:59 Im confused on which splitter I need. RCA male to female or female to male? I've used this for hours of video and it's worked great. However, today I tried recording more VCR tapes and I only get audio...no video signal. Attempted solutions: Power cycle unit Try multiple tapes. Tried 2 sets of known/working A/V cables. At a loss here.... Edit: Power cycled again. Now working as it should.
Just got this today. The part about any issues "almost certainly" coming from VCR was pretty frustrating. They immediately make the suggestion to hook it to a TV for trouble shooting, and if it doesn't work there "See? It was your VCR!" Except the TV signal worked fine. I'm getting a jumpy/garbled image on the Clear Click unit, with no explanation. I'm considering returning it, which is disappointing because I was excited to see this thing in action. It so far has let me down.
Sorry to hear that! This can be resolved by using an AV to S-Video plug adapter and using the S-Video input instead. If you want, we can send you one at our expense.
I am really enjoying converting my videos to digital and uploading to social media. I only have one fault. The sound is distorted some after converting. Is there a remedy for this? Thanks
Is there a way I can just insert an sd memory card and boom, I can view the pictures/videos on the device? Not particularly this exact device, but any kind. No connecting cables or a need for a computer. Just insert a member card (whichever memory card it may be) and start viewing what's on the card.
I am unable to see any video on the device. It shows up clearly on my camcorder, however. I can hear the audio coming through the converter. There is a red video recorder icon lit up on the converter. I am using the 3.5 mm to AV cable you referenced in scene 1:42. Can you please advise what I need to do next?

Hello, there. I am a filmmaker and I am thinking of using an old tape-based camcorder and recording directly to the capture device monitor as I would with a laptop computer. Obviously I'm going to need a USB drive to store the data on. Anyway, I have a couple of questions: 1. Does the capture device monitor capture interlaced video therefore capture both fields or is it progressive video therefore blend the fields together and cause a ghosting effect? If it is the latter, that is bad because it erases the smooth fluid motion we see on the camera and the videotapes which I believe is important. 2. Is the video file format MP4 or AVI? The latter is more sensible because it supports interlaced video therefore preserves both fields. Although there are 30 (29.97) frames per second, there are also 60 (59.94) fields per second. There are two fields in each frame of interlaced video, one set of lines on top and another at the bottom. The reason why I'm hoping this capture device captures interlaced video is because historically video was captured at 60 fields per second so I can get the properly smooth fluid motion just as I've seen on both videotape and through the camera lens. Please answer my questions. Thank you.
I’m purchasing it for the assumption that it converts from interlaced 24fps NTSC to 48 fps. I’ll let you know. This one needs a AC power source so to use it as a monitor maybe try there one with the larger screen, or the type of film making power bank with a D-link and a cord that makes it the correct DC power going in.

A few questions: 1. Can this thing capture the footage at full 60fps without having to manually de-interlace the footage? 2. Does it record at 4:3 (720x480)? 3. Is it possible for this capture device to make recordings over 2 hours long? 4. Is it possible for the device to continue recording even when there’s a few seconds of blank space in between recordings?
1. Yes, it records at 60 FPS from 30 FPS sources such as VCRs. 2. Yes, it records at 4:3 or 3:2 (menu setting). 3. Yes, but depending on the file system/formatting of your USB/SD drive, recordings will be saved in 4 GB chunks due to FAT32/exFAT file size limitations. 4. Yes, this is the default setting. Hope this helps!
Yes. We fixed that a long time ago. It actually had nothing to do with the autostop feature -- it was actually caused by tapes that had small breaks on the tape between clips. It's been fixed for quite some time now.
This is an informative demonstration of your product. It's good that you informed potential consumers about possible cords or adapters they may need to hook up to the ClearClick. Did you mention how this unit has an S-Video input? This is an important distinction that not all capture units have!

Hello, there. I am a filmmaker and I am thinking of using an old tape-based camcorder and recording directly to the capture device monitor as I would with a laptop computer. Obviously I'm going to need a USB drive to store the data on.
Anyway, I have a couple of questions:
Does this capture in the native 29.97 frame rate? Are there ways to change frame rate in settings?
Getting sound but no picture. Please help.

For some reason, the video would not play... Check it out.
How much run time does a 32GB card hold?
About 16 hours!
I have tried to transfer 2 VHS Tapes to USB and the Transfer seemed to go well until I went to transfer the USB to my computer, at which time my computer cannot find and read the Video files..it comes up with Video files Not Supported...How do I correct this problem?
This usually means that you removed the USB drive before pressing stop, or you removed it too soon after pressing stop. Also, make sure you're using a high quality USB drive like SanDisk. If you need further support, please contact us at support@clearclick.tech.
cant get a picture on this tried everything i have sound

Can you hook up a usb dvd writer to the usb so that videos can record straight to dvd?
Sadly, no
No, that would not work. You would need to use your computer to burn the DVD.

@@clearclick need to do VHS video to digital
A few questions:
@@clearclick with regards to question 3 if card is formatted in exFAT can you make it record in one continuous file if over 2 hours long?
Is this converter able to convert a VHS of a full concert?
Yes, it is.
@@clearclick great. Thanks 🙏
Has the company fixed the AutoStop feature problem that everybody complains about in the Amazon reviews?
Yes. We fixed that a long time ago. It actually had nothing to do with the autostop feature -- it was actually caused by tapes that had small breaks on the tape between clips. It's been fixed for quite some time now.
Hi does this have internal battery?
This is an informative demonstration of your product. It's good that you informed potential consumers about possible cords or adapters they may need to hook up to the ClearClick. Did you mention how this unit has an S-Video input? This is an important distinction that not all capture units have!
Thank you! Yes, we displayed in on the screen around 1:30, but should have mentioned it more in the video.
@@clearclick S-Video doesn't seem to capture audio, and my camera doesn't have the color coded av ports. What do I do?
@@paultalbot6778 What's your camera's model #? We will look it up and advise what cable to buy :)
clearclick Digital8(Sony) DCR-TRV530
Can you use this for ccd?
I presume that I can use a small TV with built in VCR. If not why?
Usually not, unfortunately! The reason is that those built-in units usually don't have AV out ports (only AV in). You can double check your TV, though. Hope this helps!
My camcorder only has one audio output jack. Can I get a link for an audio splitter cable.

Does this record at 60fps?
Hi, I am on my 3rd VCR tape and now the screen went blue and it says no video signal. Any thoughts?
Hi there - most likely it's your tape or your VCR. You may need to clean your VCR. Here's how (perform at your own risk): www.lifewire.com/how-to-clean-vcr-heads-1845836
@@clearclick Thanks for the quick reply. I cleaned the VCR last week before I started. I do have a second VCR I can try on. All the tapes are doing it now. I can hear the tape volume in the clear click device and I can see the picture when I fast forward or rewind but if I play I only get volume and a blue screen. Its odd. Not sure why it's happening? I tried resetting to factory settings, powering down etc. Any other thoughts?
@@rusted8track314 It's almost certainly either the tapes (degraded) or the VCR. If you want to verify this, hook up your VCR to a TV directly to see if you get the same result. Hope this helps!
@@clearclick Yes, very helpful. I got no signal on the TV either. I switched VCRs and now I have a signal. The odd thing is I now have a buzz that I didn't have originally. I need to investigate this more. Thanks for the help. I do like the ease of use with this product.
Can this record in 50/60i?
No. It doesn't record from HD/HDMI sources.
Have you noticed a loss of image quality because of the clearclick box?
You will always lose a little bit of quality when recording from analog -> digital, but our device keeps it to a minimum.
Como fazer pra comprar?
Is there no option to set the frame rate? My UK tapes are 25fps and I don't want to end up with 30fps (or 60fps) files.
It will detect and reset to PAL automatically.
Is it only possible to convert it to 4:3 only ? not 16:9 ?
Yes! There is a Video Size/Aspect Ratio setting in the device menu.
Does this ClearClick work with Super 8 tapes?
Yes works great connecting it to your camcorder.
I just got mine today...hope this will work in Dubai system...PAL
Yes, it does!
I would like to buy it ..does it work ?
Where can I buy a camcorder?
Try eBay - make sure it plays the same kind of tapes as your tapes.
