The J2 includes the small hole juicing screen installed in the juicer. It also includes the SMOOTHIE strainer in an additional box. The SMOOTHIE screen IMO is the coarse hole screen (with larger holes) that can be used to make smoothies. It was not designed to make sorbet as it contains holes. However, some people attempt to use it to make sorbets which may void your warranty because it's not designed to make sorbets. This is the SORBET (solid) screen that was just released in July 2023.
I've had my first J2 for about 6 or 8 months and JUST determined today that a smoothie screen was included. I acutally purchased a second J2 (white base). It arrived today and noticed the smoothie screen. I thought Nama cheated me, then I thought that was the sorbet screen, then I came across the video.

I never thought of freezing my bananas whole I tend to cut mine into pieces then freeze them then put them into freezer bags so when I make my smoothies I can drop some pieces in my mixer. I like the hand air compressor I'll be looking into getting one to freeze my food.
In the meantime you could use a straw to suck the air out of the ziplock bag. Just close the bag and leave a small gap open where you can insert the straw in and then just suck the air out (2-3 times). You will have to act quickly tho 😋. Works like a charm. Best part is that it’s cheap, so there’s no need to spend money on an item that will take up extra space in your kitchen.
Hi John, just got my Ziploc bags and vacuum pump. Worked amazing question you said to remove that little green flap is that just for sorbets or also for juicing? Thanks 🙏🏼
the green (might be black) on your juicer must be LEFT in for Juicing. The flap puts backpressure on what is being processed, in the case when juicing, it helps the juicer to make a higher yield. Removing it would mean your pulp would be more wet and you would make less juice. Nama recommends you leave it IN for sorbets. I recommend you take it out for sorbets, as it puts less back pressure on the juicer.
I bought frozen pieces of avocado for guacamole and the thawed avocados were hard and unripe. I don't know about other frozen foods ripeness. Store bought (not raw) avocado milk tastes like avocado pits. Okay just started Costco again will look for cherries. My mom would take me to Foster Freeze in Sonoma when I was a little kid in the mid 1960s and I my mom would order the cherry shakes and they made them with lots and lots of frozen cherries. I think their ice cream maybe was less artificial too back then? Looks yummy! Walnuts and pecans make good nut butter but yeah I get nut flour from some nuts. But nut flour makes good topping like a Parmesan on spaghetti squash.
u have great videos and they are so full of valuable info. Can you tell me if these machines are can be used commercially? Will these hold on well if used for many hours per day?
The Nama J2 is a HOME JUICER made for HOME use. It has a full 15 year warranty when used at home. If used commercially the Nama J2 warranty is VOID. So you will not have a a warranty. Furthermore, this machine is not NSF/ETL Sanitation approved, which means your health department may not let you use the machine. Of course, so people don't care about the warranty, and will use this machine commercially. I have used this machine up to an hour straight without issue. I do not recommend using it more than that. If you choose to VOID the warranty and use commercially, I would recommend purchasing several machines, and switch off between the different ones, so no one machine is used for longer than 1 hour at a time, and then they can cool down for at least 1 hour.
I just ordered my sorbet attachment 2 days ago... SO excited... both my new Nama J2 and sorbet attachment should be here by Friday. (yes, I used one of your codes because I truly appreciate your SUPER informative videos). (: I was wondering... do you think you could freeze organic coconut milk/cream in ice cube trays and alter that with fronzen fruit to make a creamy sorbet? Could you add cacao nibs to the nuts and grind them into the various butters? These are just a couple things that popped into my head while watching your video.
Thank You for your support so I can continue my work. Frozen fruit is an approved use for the sorbet attachment. they specifically recommend against putting ice thru the machine, as it is much harder than frozen fruit. I would think the same is true with other frozen liquids, such as any kind of milks. I have not tried using cacao nibs, and would probably recommend against it, as they can be a lot harder than nuts.

I saw someone just pour a little of the liquid (coconut milk in your case ) in the hopper while it was processing the fruit and it worked out well and made it more creamy.
My Nana arrived with 2 strainers: The standard juice strainer, and one they call a “smoothie strainer “. Have you got any recipes using the smoothie strainer? I can’t find any. thanks
Can the Kuving 830 you reviewed also make sorbet since it has a larger motor? It’s such a big Hugh investment for me I don’t want to make a mistake. Also, can I put in some nuts or even cacao in there?
the pulp flap puts restriction on the mixture from coming out. All other juicers do not put restriction on sorbets when coming out of the juicer. That being said namawell says you could leave it in.
I personally would add the oil of the nut, so if your making almond butter, add in almond oil, so you keep the original flavor. My personal preference is to not add any oil back in. I like to eat the nut butter without additional oil since every tablespoon of oil you add adds in 120 calories.
Yes, almond butter can be made in the J2. For best results use ROASTED almonds, since they have a higher oil content. Raw almonds will turn into almond flour, since there is not enough oil in them to get them to stick together, unless you add almond oil.
I'm curious. The peanut butters that I've bought that didn't have added oil in the ingredients were more oily than this. I wonder if nuts differ much in oiliness, just like produce differs in water content.
Just Ordered my sorbet screen for my J2. Been juicing for about a month now. Down 10 Lbs. thanks John for the push.. Question on the nut butter side. Could you do a combo of nuts, dried fruits, and possibly granola to make something akin to a Larabar. Like their Cherry Pie bar use pitted dates, almonds, and pitted dried cherries. Their Cashew Cookie has dates and cashews. Big question is how would the NJ2 handle the dates
I only recommend using plain nuts, they can be mixed kinds. I would not recommend adding in dried fruit, as the problem could occur that the dried fruit gets stuck the the juicing screen and will lock up the auger, causing massive stress on the motor. This attachment was designed to process frozen fruit, and luckily it will also process nuts without shells. I do not recommend it for processing anything else at this point.
Greetings of the day. What about the new MILKY PLANT VS, THE NUTR? How are you? Could you please compare both of these items!!! I already have the SORBET attachment. I haven't had my juicer very long.YAY!! :) I need you to compare these two items please. Have A Great Day!! I really love your videos. Thanks for sharing!!
My personal opinion is that Fresh vegetable juice is significantly more health beneficial than plant milks. The best way to make plant milk is with vacuum blending that I demonstrate at ruclips.net/video/F9tXMtg2sIw/видео.html I am not a fan of most nut milk makers as I have found they are not super effective at extracting all the nutrients out of the nuts. The nutramilk is currently my favorite: ruclips.net/video/xHCy0mVrZOc/видео.html
This sorbet attachment is for the Nama J2 Juicer which is available as an optional accessory. It will NOT fit the Nama J1 aka Nama 5800 model. The Nama J1 aka 5800 INCLUDES its own Sorbet attachment that you should have recieved with the juicer.
@@discountjuicers ok cheers a friend has the J1 but i want the J2 especially now with the attachment ...yippee ! I still love my omega vrt 350 you sold me, still going strong but hands free is appealing.
No, but literally, I had to find out the hard way before I stumbled across this video, I do confess! I’d left the green plug in and the freaking holding tank just got plastered with debris 🛑 ⛵️
I’m so Disappointedly with my Nama J2. Turns pineapple and cabbage into a mushy mess. Not great for celery either. Wish I had gotten the kuvings juicer
juice the pineapple while it is still firm. juicers don't do well with soft pineapple. use the pineapple core to help push th produce down. i also sometimes uses something harder like a few baby carrots to help push the produce down. the juicer does best when we mix hard produce with soft produce.
Hi John “?” About making nut butter . Are the nuts supposed to be dry-roasted or oil roasted? Also I was happy to hear you say Pilinuts. I have some in my freezer in their skins which is how they came packaged . Once I defrost them do I just use them as they are in their skins ?
Either roasted or dry roasted would work. I used oil roasted in my video, for the higher oil content, as they will likely stick together better. Dry-roasted should also work, but it may not stick together as well. On pili nuts, make SURE you fully defrost them before turning them into butter. The skins are edible, so you can put them thru the machine too, however, they do add a flavor (and additional nutrients) to the butter that some people may or may not like.
It looks just like the juicing and smoothie screens. What would happen if you used the smoothie screen without the wiping blade instead of getting the sorbet attachment? I can't believe they want $50.00 for this. I think it's overpriced.
The SMOOTHIE screen IMO is the coarse hole screen (with larger holes) that can be used to make smoothies. It was not designed to make sorbet as it contains holes. Then will move the nut butter to a food processor with the dates and fruit. Wish me luck in my experiment
@troytyson1236 this sounds like a great idea!! I’ll have to try it too!
I will be but both love it!!!! Thank you!
Can i leave peanut skin on or do i have remove it
I notice the silicone flap that you removed is green instead of black like mine. Is NAMA just playing with color or is there a functional difference?
No functional difference. Playing with color, green may show less stains, I believe.
@@discountjuicersi bought the NutraMilk from you. Its so great and makes superior nutmilk.
If you were making almond butter, would you peel the almonds?
Wondering same for peanuts
I wanna learn how to make Sorbet like Berthillon. If you know Berthillon, then you know it fruit sorbet is exceptional, like beyond exceptional.
❤THIS WAS FABULOUS!🎉
Is the warranty still 15 years for the motor and 2 years for everything else?
No, 15 for everything now :)
Would you use this attachment to make the nut milk too?
No. I use the standard included juicing strainer to make nut milk, see ruclips.net/video/clvmB_yqu3Y/видео.html for my specific technique.
Now I want this
What attachment are you using for the nut butter?
the sorbet attachment. also known as a blank or solid screen
I didn’t realize I can do nut butter too. I just got my sorbet attachment.
Shoot another video using the kuvings cb1000....
later this week :) stay tuned. I compare it to the Vitamix Quiet One Commercial Blender.. SPOILER: the CB1000 was superior :)
@rawfoods great so looking forward to it 👁 🧐 🥽
Came in late but does the sorbet attachment work with the previous nama model ?
I’d left the green plug in and the freaking holding tank just got plastered with debris
🛑 ⛵️
Does this make nutmilk?
The other strainer that comes w/ the juicer does..
YES. Please watch ruclips.net/video/clvmB_yqu3Y/видео.html
I tried to use the sorbet10 coupon but it's not working??
I have just verified it is working. It will work for a 10% discount on the Juicer or Sorbet Attachment.
@@discountjuicers I see. Thank you!
amazing
Wow, more expense on top of an expensive juicer. The Kuvings included all of these attachments at a lower price.
the kuvings costs $150 more than the j2. their black Friday sale had a larger discount making it a good deal at that moment.
What is a blank plate?
He took it out of the box. A new attachment from NAMA. The screen with no holes (BLANK).
However, some people attempt to use it to make sorbets which may void your warranty because it's not designed to make sorbets. This is the SORBET (solid) screen that was just released in July 2023.
U love nama don't u
Sober?
if indigenous people did not have vacume they did have the sun to dry and then use a liquid basically to extract the nutrients...pickling is one and a grounding can you further try to keep it simple for us that can not afford to get the next product. I see that we can get out the air from the foods that is good I get that this is not new.
I hope we are not going down the rabbit hole.I hope it's no more new things..because if not I want to see an alternative to grind up if you have no teeth left
15$ just in shipping🫠 Can’t justify it! literally just bought the strainer 2wks ago🫤
I am seeing FREE shipping on the SORBET screen for the US 48 States.
@@discountjuicers Not sure what i’m doing wrong, it’s saying 15.80 in shipping. Could it be that i’m using Shoppay?
Just bought mine and shipping was free (So. Cal)
