Ive just fitted this JBA complete Coupe/Fastback system on to a 67 convertible and still retained the torque reinforcement plate. Its obviously been heavily modified but also modified to fit around a 4R70W trans too. I used the correct factory hangers though ... so much better.
Just a suggestion, the way you mounted the mufflers to the floor could be better. The floor on factory cars (65 to 70)with duals is double skinned in having reinforcement over 10" wide by 5" with 2 bolts going through another rectangle shaped pad making it 3 layers thick. Mounting direct to the thin floor with basically a large self tapping screw is not a long term fix. When using that automatic centre punch you can see how much the floor flexes. There is kits available that copy the factory setup. Otherwise very nice work :)
+Fordsidevalvesforever Great suggestion! when we do our next exhaust update we'll show that. We've found that showing how we do something has done a lot to teach us new and better methods!
Exactly what I was going to say. My '67 Mustang is proof of the need for this. A previous owner did it as in the video, and the floor sheet metal flexed and split apart over time. Exhaust systems are designed to MOVE as the engine vibrates and moves in it's mounts. This WILL split the thin sheet metal in the rear floor. There are factory style reinforcements available that go under the back seat. (OE dual exhaust cars came with them.) Or you can fabricate your own. If you don't, you're asking for trouble.
+Al Burmaster Yes. We did have to massage them for the Borgeson box. Keep in mind that we are running a 351 W. so you might not have to mod them with the 331.
I have always done my own exhaust. This system does look nice. A lot better than try and fit parts from the auto shop. That can get expensive! I want more info on that ball thing. Sorrt, did not catch the name of it. Is that to replace the donut?
Good looking exhaust for an out of the box piece, but guys, are you really going to use those garage door lag screws that JBA sent?! I should mail you some nutserts. Or at the very least, weld a nut to the other side of the panel and use a proper bolt.
So...Are ya really gonna leave that undercarriage looking like that? Why not just shoot it all black? I understand that is not stock, but that ship has sailed already. Keep the exhaust and some other key pieces natural color but shoot the rest black. Again my $.02. As always very entertaining vid. Lets hear that baby pur...
John, Jeff has been doing a little detailing and plans to do as much as he can before the 50th. Black is a great idea and we just might give into the "dark side" and do that. Of course as low as the car sits, folks will probably be getting dirt in their ears looking under it. =)
Great video. Cleared my clamp at the end of the tail pipe curiosity.

The last episode was so helpful. I guess this will be just as awesome, I'll send you fellas a shot of my Fairlane when she's done
I was going to ask if we get to hear it, then you said it wasn't ready to start. Looking forward to hearing it run. Great videos!
Us too! Jeff has heard the 351 at full chat on the dyno where it pulled 428 horse. But he wants to hear it tied to the exhaust.
Looking forward to hearing it too.

If ypu put a piece of vacuum hose over your drill bit, when it pops through it wont go in...

The Ball Flange is available through Summit Racing. Part number is: 672225-SS for the 2.5-inch stainless steel ones.
Nice video looks great!
Where can I find those style exhaust clamps at ?
I found them on Amazon; EVIL ENERGY 2.5" 2 1/2 Lap Joint Exhaust Band Clamp Exhaust Repair Preformed 304 Stainless Steel 2pcs

Not crazy about lag screws either Aaron. Jeff wants to do a bolt through in the spot where we do our final mount.
Good to hear. I can only imagine those lab screws pulling through in a few years or becoming a source of rust around the inside of the hole.
I need for a 74 Monte Carlo 350 motor a pair of TAIL-Pipes (both-left & right),can some one give me an idea where to get it???

Just do turndowns after the mufflers. 50% less work, sounds better too.
Normally I would consider it, but wagons are horrible for carbon monoxide coming in the back window.
Sure you guys are not actors?
Nope. Though Jeff did stay at a Holiday Inn once...
