Wrong!! Seiko is just cheaping out, but has your brainwashed. Answer me this smart guy. Why do they put sapphire crystal on their higher end models if Hardlex is so great?🙂
Hardlex is perfectly adequate for a dive watch that’s actually used for diving. I’ve never had a problem diving with any of my watches with Hardlex for 10 years plus.
@@Mystery_Man84 YAWN! Dude, if hardlex is a no go for you, don't buy it. I'm sure Seiko will still be in business if you take your buying money somewhere else. Probably one of those guys who gets all worked up if a pilot's watch doesn't have 200m of water resistance too.

I have two of these. This series was a home run for Seiko.
Like Rob, I have the orange dial version of this. These are excellent value watches, especially if you can get a little discount. I can't get along with the bracelet, so I wear mine on a Hirsch Liberty strap. I like this new white-silver dial! As always, great review Rob!
I can confirm that Hardlex scratches, have one on my Seiko watch
This might be my favorite color of the SSK GMTs. It's like an opaline white dial. But, seeing it in person last week, the silvery sheen of the dial does show. It works to pass as a "white". But, agree, a stark you're white would be better and welcomed.
Just got mine from Trifecta as well. Only thing is the bezel is not as tight as my blue one I got a few months back. Not sure if it’s an isolated defect but the bezel moving on its own is annoying
I have the yellow one and I love it.
People won't buy so many awesome watches just because it doesn't have sapphire and it's their loss man! More great watches for us non-snobs to buy. Great watch btw colorway is sweet.

Handlex is better than my Longines crystal that is scratched due to the AR stupidly being on the outside.

Not a fan of a crystal bezel inserts.
Should have shorten the clasp, too long for small size wrist.

I can agree about hardlex only if the person has a separate beater watch for activities where scratches are a possible/likely. I have watches with hardlex and sapphire -and the sapphire’s saved me from scratches when mineral has not. And unlike acrylic, removing scratches is not easy from mineral (but not impossible unless deep). At $475, Seiko should have sapphire crystal and ceramic/sapphire bezel IMO. Why? The market has evolved and those are increasingly defaults for $500 watches. On the positive side, the watch is very good looking! Great design and watch! Thanks for the great videos!
Right. Seiko must put something in their watches to brainwash people.😂. Because some people just can’t accept the fact that Sapphire > Hardlex/Mineral
