    I've been 3D printing for years, I've worked with many printers from many different manufacturers including Creality and Prusa and FLSun, and I stand firmly by the statement that these are the best non-industrial-scale 3D printers out there. Nothing else comes close. They print more quickly and more cleanly than any other printer I've used that's not a Voron. The company is indeed fantastic at incorporating community feedback and building out customer tools for resolving failed prints.
    And yet there's this outright venom and hostility from the 3D printing community toward Bambu devices. I've been called a shill, they've alleged that Bambu pays everyone who says good things about them, and they swear up and down that "there's no such thing as a turnkey / plug-and-play 3D printer." There's this odd stubbornness to detach from the cheap-and-mediocre 3D printers that require excessive adjustment and prayers at the altar to print right. It's bizarre and frustrating gatekeeping, as if they refuse to add anyone to their "trusted manufacturers" list after Creality and Prusa dominated the market.

    If the black dust is actually coming from carbon rods, it might not be to good on the lungs.
    Carbon nanotubes (not the same) result in similar lung damage as asbestos in studies.

    Regarding loading the filament, you only need to hit the button to extrude once until it grips the filament. When a job starts, it extrudes enough to get it flowing from the nozzle just fine.
    When loading filament for a replacement mid-print, though, I did have to purge out some filament myself as the printer didn’t do that itself.

  • @thomaswiley666
    @thomaswiley666 Год назад +1

    Thank you for the update! Just one thing... I haven't found review or update of anyone who's printed a duo-tone (or two color) print and weighed the purge strings and the purge tower, along with the printed object (including the supports), to get a ratio of waste to product. I know supports are considered waste material but we would get the same amount of support waste on other machines. Eventually we could work our way down to what type of support delivers the best benefit to cost ratio later on.
    As we move forward with being a more "green" society, we in the printing community need to be aware of our waste, too. But then again, the more people we have looking into this, and as Bambu Lab as been really responsive so far with making changes and updates, we - and Bambu Lab - could be on the forefront of recognizing and mitigation waste before it has time to become a problem. And whatever gains we make here could be shared with other printer companies. Thanks again for the update.

I like that I don’t have to deal with hot tightening with this machine and I thought I might be able to do a pretty fast nozzle swap by having alt nozzles pre set with a heater/thermistor but I now see that the hot end fan is attached to the nozzle assy… If I had known I would’ve ordered some extra fans and doing so now I have no idea when I’ll get them.

    2:10 you mentioned the hum. That could be from the power supply since it has to pull power for running of course. If anything, a sleep mode would be nice just to give that supply a break while not fully operating. I am kind of expecting that this printer is able to be used without any cloud interaction and just send data from my local PC directly to my (local) printer without the the need to copy this through the internet. @Uncle Jessy Thanks for the update! It helps for owners to be aware. Have you noticed VFA issues on your prints and any advice how to address them on the X1C? People think the caused by a number of things, such as to slicer settings, smooth idler pulleys instead of toothed ones, extruder gear runout, belt tension, belts that are too short with too much tension, and belt quality (non-Gates belt). So far there doesn’t seem to be a fix - some people say print slower or faster but the issue is still apparent.

      Oh wow I thought that was just my dirty machine. I have been noticing that more and more with some of my smooth prints where there is almost a slight texture to the prints

    • @GCheung55
      @GCheung55 Год назад +2

      @@UncleJessy Yup, you’re not the only one. Following BambuLab’s maintenance guide helps a tiny bit but the VFA is still there. People might be ignoring the issue or it goes unnoticed on prints because some filaments hide it better. If you compare your first to most recent prints, do you see quality degrade? I hope people will be more vocal about it so the topic gains traction so either community fixes or BambuLab prioritizes a fix.

    I havent heard any humming from my printer. It might just be something that is wearing out on the machine and hopefully can be easily replaced.
    As for nozzle cleaner that keeps breaking for you there are actually some that you can print on Printables, some even claim to have made them better than the original, also the white part is apprently just PTFE tubing and there is also someone on Printables that made a jig so you can cut the PTFE tube the correct size.
    So rather than buying more you can potentially just print them. If you do please let us know how they work out since you use these printers so much you probably will be able to test them much better than the average person 😁

    I have an X1 and I also have several Prusa machines and a Voron 2.4. The X1 is my new favorite hands down. It prints faster and nicer with much less effort than any printer I have used. So far I absolutely love it and it's been a great addition to my business. With that said, I got the X1 with the AMS and it has not worked from day one and getting issues like that solved with Bambu has been anything but seamless. I explained very clearly what was going on and they want video and a error file from the printer. Which I would normally understand but I was easily able to tell them the error code and the video does not show any better what's going on than how I can explain it since you can't see the issue but I can feel it when manually pushing the filament in and out of the unit. So jumping through run around hoops in my opinion. The AMS unit is still sitting collecting dust. I highly recommend the printer but the AMS is not ready for consumers IMHO. Look around, I'm not the only one complaining about the reliability of the AMS. But I will say it again, the printer is outstanding and I highly recommend it. Very impressive unit.
