My first exposure to Candace Bergen was in 1971 in Carnal Knowledge with Jack Nicholson, been a fan ever since. she is lovely!

I have always loved Candice Bergen even before Murphy Brown. She always seemed such a grounded person although she had grown up in Hollywood with legends as her parents' dinner guests and her dates. Always classy. So happy Murphy Brown is back!

Murphy Brown was my daughter's favorite TV show from age 7. Once I responded to misbehavior by threatening to ground her from watching MB for a week. She cried so hard that I decided Murphy being a good role model was important, and witheld a less precious privilege. Thank you Candice Bergen for showing a damaged girl with a damaged mom what a bold, assertive woman looks like. You taught us things we needed to learn.

Bergen was one hell of a photographer. People forget that. She did the entire photo lay out for the late Charlie Chaplin in 1966 for Life Magazine.
I stumbled on an odd fact today: She took the photo for the cover of an album, Charity Ball, which was the 2nd album of an American all-female band called Fanny. No idea how that came about, but it makes Fanny and Candice seem even cooler.

if you've never seen her as an SNL host, you should. She was a multi-repeat host to the point of almost being a cast member and ALWAYS funny. Her father's career is now considered weird but he WAS funny and often topical and sly. He was extremely influential. She and Carrie both come from people of essentially the same era of industry that was directly influenced by vaudeville.
