I was a little kid when they were airing new episodes, but I did watch it with my mom and dad, and I watched re-runs later.

Murphy Brown ended in 1998. There were 10 election cycles between then and the reboot.
Too bad Charles Kimbrough is retired from acting...maybe they can get Bryan Cranston to guest star as his son, or brother, or something related (EDIT: 9/25/18: Just read in EW that Kimbrough actually WILL appear in a few episodes, but Only a few--he's not a series regular).

I’m the first run Corky was a beauty contestant who eventually left FYI for a fluffier program. Miles had left the show too. The Incredible Shrinking Woman Too All Of Me and became executive producer.
Miles left to get away from corky and be with his wife and family.

Corky aged so well! Even Candice too. Of course she's much older now but she looks good

I read that he won't be a regular on the series, but will be a guest star. The actor, Charles Kimbrough, is 81 and he hasn't acted regularly for more than a decade.

I just wanted to see Miles. Poor guy was under so much pressure and he finally snapped after having delt with talking cheerleader barbie. I heard he was married to his college girlfriend and true love and never to cheerleader barbie with a bad bleach job.

The old show was funny, I enjoyed it. I think Candace is a good comedian. But it’s likely to be a hatchet job since that’s why she said they came back.

Load o crap the first time around. More of the same except now 20 years older. I know it's Halloween but some things are better off in the grave.
I LOVED the original BUT.... Hate to say it but this remake is going to bomb... and the proof is in the advertising. A reporter who cannot use technology makes a Murphy appear incompetent & out of touch with the world... the opposite of what Murphy's Character is/should be. Watch closely and you will notice that all the jokes that landed are taken from old footage and all the new footage is unfunny or age bashing. Too many old call backs and nothing new to show indicates that what new footage they do have is most likely NOT any good... I am sorry to say but I am predicting this show will bomb.
Ch Ad I agree with you about the technology. This crew should have embraced it. In my humble opinion. But I don’t think it will fail. The cast is great.
Interesting prediction. I saw an interview about a week ago--Candace Bergen herself--stating that the end of the season isn't even written, as the writers want to be able to "ad lib," with regard to the real time news events. So, there's that. Will be great to watch for "watching's sake/the characters, etc." Critiquing is someone else's job . . .
i enjoyed the first episode but I do miss the painter. he was an interesting character.

OMG, this show stinks on ice.They're like ALWAYS sitting down.The comedic timing is off so much it's like watching old Godzilla movies with the english dubbed in.And speaking of Godzilla....that thing walks across the ocean faster than Bergin walking 2 or 3 steps across a set.With these people getting older by the minute I don't see how it gets any better.

Why would they still use the clips of Murphy being violent, when it's 2018? If anything, this legitimizes violence towards both men and women. It's saying, when women have power, they will be violent too, so it's ok to be violent.
