I’m good no thanks. This has Drouin for Sergachev written all over it.
Drouin never did score 60 points, Zegras already did this twice before he was 23 playing on a shitty team, nowhere near the same thing
True
if ducks want a guhle or reinbacher....they're drafting a dman
@@LeylaDerben but Guhle isnt RHD?!
He's been playing on the right side of Mike Matheson though for a good part of the season @@stefangerber3641
Am I the only one that is tired of hearing about Zegras? Yeah we took a chance on a couple other guys similar to him and other then one being hurt right off the bat I think we can say they both worked out about as well as we can expect. But we don't need another one of those, we need an elite level scorer, a 90pt or more guy. Go after a guy like Rantanen and pay him 13million. The Avs have like zero draft picks the next few years so trade a bunch of those plus a prospect or two or include Dvorak or Anderson in the trade. Not to mention Av's sitting on 8 UFA's this offseason and 3 next they may be hard pressed with Cap issues especially if Landeskog comes off the IR at 7million a year. Anyway I'd just like to hear talk about going after a star player instead of random mids, we have a enough mids and honestly right now only really one star player. Lets make a move on proven. Other players could be Reinhart, Kaprizov, or was saying Draisaitl but with Edmonton going to the finals I think he resigns to go at it again, if they got knocked out early then I think he would have decided to leave.
Zegras has 90 point upside
Like Hughes did with Panarin...
What I’ve seen is no one wants zegras. Except for Anaheim fans. I don’t want o see him on Detroit either
@@jackconrad2667 another misinformed take
@@matthewkabel6246 check the comments. No one wants him. Attitude problems and drama.
If they want Guhle, the return needs to be McTavish.
McTavish got 43 and 42 pts season compared to Zegras that got 61-65 pts season ?
If Habs trade Reinbacher or Guhle to Ducks, it also means Ducks will draft Linstrom or Demidov. Habs won't do it. If Ducks need a dman, draft a dman.
Good point!
Terrible point habs stacked with a young d-core. Habs need scoring makes perfect sense. All draft picks don’t turn out to be studs.
That just means montreal drafts the best defenseman in a draft that is defense heavy. Ghule isn't better than Hutson or Matheson... better to move him for forward and draft a real rhd.
@@user-jy5tr5rl6i agreed some people don’t look who the get and who they lose because their pile is too stacked or cap is too high.
Anaheim has to realize that Zegras wanting out and being on a down year is going to really lower his value. The best option is to sell now when they have the chance to get something decent from him. Guhle or Reinbacher is too high an ask, a package is better.
No one in Zegras's corner or even Zegras himself has come out stating they want a trade.
One bad season and already downgraded him vs two 60 pts season yeahhh a "decent" return
it's ZEEEEEEEEEEGRAS
Thank you
@theturdeye sorry it's absolutely no way and it's zegrasssssss hl lol !!!
I know right? Who tf says Zeggras
@@Citizen__X1 I thought is was Zzzzzzzzzzzzegras ... silly me.
When ppl say mtl fans don't have the patience for a rebuild they are talking about right now... now is the time to be patient and let the process continue not the time to say screw it and trade for flashy homerun that probably will not pan out... if u trade ghule it's in 2 years when we have 5 top 3 defenseman on the squad
I’d trade Matheson for Necas
Straight up or even throw in pick 26
Harris & picks for Zegras not Ghule and certainly not Reinbacher not much in the pipeline aside from Reinbacher & Mailloux
@vdac1068 guys like that will be available every year... why not wait another season and let those young player get better and increase their market value... because none of those prospect and young players are a sure shot at a superstar so I'd be patient before starting to sell assets
I dont want zegras on montreal , think about it we need size in the top 6 not another skill forward we have quite a few of those , i would give up alot for necas because hes much more of a fit and is way bigger and arguably just as good a player ,but i dont see this allure on zegras that people have
Jordan Harris for Zegras Straight up...
I'm 100% serious...
you're stupid thinking that a 2 times 60 pts season top 6 foward...you'll get him for a 5th defenseman like Harris!!! If you want quality and talent...you need to give somthing good in return.Habs have a lot of defensemen, so it'time to trade one for a great foward!
Arpon is the best there is.
Kent should AVOID any player asking to be traded.
That is all rumors. Zergas has not come out anywhere stating he wants out.
That would be like doing the Sergachev/Drouin or McDonagh/Gomez trades all over again ... do we want to relive those disasters?
Not even a Canadiens fan but the most they should give is the 26 pick.
Pump the breaks pump the brakes
@@ChristianGrimaldi-vp3ikoh yeah I hate Zegras and honestly might give a 5th and mid somebody for him. But bc they got Caufield and the state MTL is in they could give 26 for him and Anaheim should be lucky for that.

So...they want a top pairing D for a second line center 🤔. Not even a Habs fan and I'm offended 😂
Reinbacher is NOT a top pairing D and Zegras has top line upside lmfao
Great report LR99!
1. Ducks have to talk the player up to make trade palatable. If the malign him, no other team will want him.
2. He's young and talented and needs a change of scenery.
3. If I'm Kent Hughes.....I'm NOT mortgaging the farm for this kid. Hughes & Gorton have said all along they are building for the future and not looking to part with solid assets for an unknown (same goes for PLD). I would NOT part with prospective 1st and 2nd pair young "D" for Zegras.
Per point #3: the thing is, you have the reality exactly backwards. Whether or not you think that Zegras will bring what the Habs needs, he is a proven NHL asset-20+ goals, 60+ points. Guhle and Reinbacher are unproven assets. Maybe Guhle is further along his development arc than Reinbacher, but he’s still basically a prospect. A good prospect, possibly even a blue-chip prospect, but still a prospect. If it’s only costing you one of the two, and you think Zegras will bring something you need, then you make a deal.
Honestly, this looks like one of two things: either Hughes wants Zegras and is trying to massively reduce the asking price for him by negotiating through the media, or Hughes has an idea that a rival team is interested in Zegras, and Hughes is trying to monopolize Anaheim’s attention to prevent him from going to a rival team.
Plus if they trade for a Dman, Ducks are less likely to draft an other D. Wich might cut grass under mtl feet if they pick either Demidov or Linstrom. Lose lose for MTL
First off, Lebrun asked Verbeek directly, and Verbeek said no comment.
Until he comments, everything else is just speculation.
Guhle or Reinbacher as a start? Not going to happen.
26th pick & Struble, take it or leave it
10/10 rage bait
I’d even go Farrell, or freeing up one of the older dmen too. If you’re going to overpay, have it benefit both teams. Farrell is the same size, minus 20lbs, and the grit Verbeek had 😂
@@LeylaDerben then you leave it. The attitude is not worth the asking price
He is 23 btw.
Wow, 2 60pt seasons. Big whoop
@@LeylaDerben I hope he stays in Anaheim, he’s not wanted. Enjoy your lacrosse goals 🤣🤣
I said in February this would be be the asking price that would realistically get the trade done, Montreal would be stupid to trade either
Yeah that's a no to trading Reinbacher or Guhle. Struble and the Jets 1st. If not then there's always Necas to pursue.
The only way I can see this trade works, is if both team trade their 3rd overall pick and 5th overall pick. Cause if you give anaheim 1 for 1 they wont draft a defenseman. Which they gonna draft Demidov instead and cut the possibility of Lindstrom most likely to be drafted by columbus. Ducks have less leeway since Zegras wants out, than Habs anyway. They can go for the long con if necessary.
How about the Habs send Caufield to the Ducks for McTavish.
Neither team would do that trade
@@matthewkabel6246 Well there's no way the Ducks would. Just like there's no way the Habs would trade Guhle or Reinbacher for Zegras. No interest in Zegras being a Hab at that price.
@@DaveJBL just curious why wouldn’t you trade a likely top 4 D for a guy with elite playmaking ability who’s already produced like a top line forward over large stretches of his career so far on a bottom feeding team with little to no help around him and predominantly Eakins as his coach. Also are you trying to insinuate that the Habs would be open to trading Caufield for McTavish straight up? McTavish is a good young player who can be a very good 2C in the future but I don’t get the sentiment that he’s far better than Caufield, at least right now
Guhle or Reinbacher? ... keep dreaming, Hughes is not that dumb.
Why would we undo what we've built on defense in order to get another small forward? ... we wouldn't be getting any better.
Can't blame the Ducks for trying though, in the end they're the ones who have a player who doesn't want to play there ... their problem, not ours.
Zegras has vocalized his desire to be in Anaheim lol
If I read your title right, they will take Carey Prices ltir contract for Zegras. 😛😛
I do want Z on the habs, i guess thats an unpopular opinion but i stand by it. I agree definitely not for guhle or reinbacher but yeah struble, some draft picks and maybe a roster player/prospect or both depending on who. Like if you want josh anderson or mario armia sure! Im not sure about adding owen beck in that trade though.. actually nah i would probably be upset that kid looks like a beast
No way hose. Would be a terrible trade.
Let me guess. 1st, prospect and a roster player
🔥
I would prefer sending wifi to the ducks in an other conference for sure. If the Habs brass see equal value for Zehras than Necas, take Zehra’s at a lesser salary and two years younger with two 60es seasons already.
I would be willing to counter with Stuble, 26th pick and Mesar. Thats more than fair and works for both. If not i say a hard "no."
I would do it for ghule. Hes a very well rounded defenseman but Hutson, reinbacher,Matheson and mailloux are the future. Ghule got tossed to the right hand side not just because we have a hole there it's because Matheson is our #1. Trade ghule for zegras and draft parehk at #5. Two holes filled from a position of strength 💪
No way. Don’t need him.
Zegris costs $5.75 m per year but potential stars like Catton, Sennecke, Demidov., Lindstrom, and Iginla, will cost around 5M FOR ALL 5 per year. We have 2 firsts for next year and a lot of capital for trade * Matheson is 30 and costs $4.5m and first line D for 3 years when we are at the end of rebuild and Hutson, Mailloux, and Reinbacher should be ready for the challenge of leading the PP. We have to pay them more so we gotta' be ready financially and get who ever prepared. This is our most important draft in decades so use all our picks and trades wisely. Matheson and pick 26 for who ever needs a #1 D now. etc, etc.Zegris at $5.75m and Guhle is rediclous.....
As a full time habs fan screw this deal!!!!!! Both of them are better than zegras we don’t get zegras!!
So the Ducks who are the worst team in the league In the middle of a rebuild are trying to trade their first round pick from 4 years ago. Hmmmmm if that doesn’t scream locker room cancer and that he has shown what he is I don’t know what does.
The habs cannot give a D ahead of the draft, it might be the reason they would lose Demidov
If you want Zegras draft Catton . Same type of player . Zegras is way overvalued. As you are seeing you need to be big to win
If he wants out wait till the ducks take what they can get for him
Hes a spoiled brat and even his father is getting involved, hard pass
Anaheim doesn't seem to be dealing from a position of strength. The seems high.If a lesser D-man and other assets," let's make deal."
I would trade Reinbacker as he is still unproven but not Guhle for Zegras, Caufield will vouch for Zegras even though his 154 points in 211 games speaks for itself. Struble is a keeper IMO.
I view it like this... if the Ducks do not see future with this player, why would we trade someone we see as valuable to our future for him considering we are higher in standings... I agree do not trade at that price
Well, if habs go ahead with this trade, it will weaken the team. Zegras has a certain value, not as high as that. Let's wait a bit. If another team is willing to destroy their team to acquire Zegras, go ahead, otherwise, the price will go down.
I'm ready to give the Jet's pick + a young defensman like Harris AND/OR Barron, but Guhle + Reinbacher worth more than just Zegras. While asking stupid thing, if they want Guhle + Reinbacher, add the 3rd overall pick with Zegras !
26th pick + Harris or Barron. No more. Too risky. There are better options out there.
I don't get all the Zegras stuff. Either he's a turd and a head case, or the Ducks epically failed him. For two seasons, he was the up and coming star, then has a down season and the Dicks can't get rid of him fast enough.
Lol..I meant *Ducks
@@Elrond_Hubbard1 You were spot on with the first comment.
Beck / Ghule / Reinbacher non starters
Matheson Or Harris
And picks sure thing
But I’d rather see Matheson & 26th pick trade for Necas
Harris or Strubble and Montreal’s 1st 2025 for Zegras
Otherwise no deal
Rediculous forget it
Nothin was revealed, it's just a guess from a reporter...do the exercise...what would the ducks want for Zegras, of course one of our best D prospects....duh
Package the pick from Calgary, Mesar and either Harris or Struble and nothing more.
The issue here is Anaheim wants to get more talented and bigger on defense...but we want to get talented AND bigger up front. Not saying I wouldn't trade either of Guhle or Reinbacher but this would give what Anaheim wants while falling short for us... so no deal from my perspective
How about having the best of both worlds? ... Let's just draft a big forward with talent and SIZE while keeping our big talented defensemen.
Problem solved.
If the ducks don’t want him that’s a big red flag he is talented but definitely not a guy you want in the playoffs
I would trade Carey Price for Zegras straight up 😂
They are dreaming Zegras is worth nothing
troll
Struble, Mesar or Beck or Kapanen and Winnipegh 1st
If it wasn’t for the daddy issues ( like marner in TO ) I would offer wifi for Necas straight up. Mailloux ha a more upside and can do the work of the dirty side that WIFI offers.
If Zergas is so good, why they want to trade him.
They don't want to trade him lmfao
Good player get traded all the time
Ummm NO! We can wait for something reasonable or thanks but no thanks. If he doesn't get moved , let's see next year.
defence isn't going anywhere , 2 years ago slaf then mesar in the first round , this year maybe demidov and at 26 artamonov pair of the russian , win win .
Or pair of medecine hats tiger with Lindstrom and Basha :0
If the Ducks really want to move him, they should ask for less than those D-men. CH could throw in some dead wood in the deal...
Buium to Ducks at 3 just talked to Verbeek
Struble and a 2 are You serious 😂
No way to much for someone that has not done much
Lol ok so we need to give double or triple the price?? Thats dumb now at the moment Zegras is a 2nd round pick at most 😂 or a couple of laval players thats it.
Ducks will always want extra from HABS SO LETS DECIDE NEXT YEAR.........
Tell me you don’t watch the Ducks without telling me
If thats the trade they want for zegras then we should give evans for leo carlsson
Habs fans are something else
Give them Mailloux and a second. Or savard and a second. Or Harris and a second. Don't trade the guys you haven't begun to evaluate yet. Barron and a second.
Not trading Guhle for Zegras, who may be a bust.
Keep Mailloux ... we need big right handed defensemen.
Just draft a big talented forward with SIZE and grit ... these are more useful in the playoffs than smurfs.
No thank you. This is the stupid season. Montreal will find someone to dance. Kapanen will provide Montreal with a super solid top 3. Beck is probably your number 4 when it’s time to make a run. That means you need to find value for Dvorak this year to move him, and Evans at the deadline, whether you’re in the playoffs or not
Well said. I will say the same about right wing. If they trade for Necas and his albatross contract, then Anderson and Gallagher are bottom 6. Better to draft Sennecke or whoever and develop him to slot in when the time is right.
@@starledge when it comes to contracts and winning, look no further than Tavares. I said that the day he signed in Toronto, and thankfully didn’t sign in Montreal. Sometimes the best trades you make are the ones you don’t make. The way their lines are going to go in 2 years; Caufield, Suzuki, Slaf - Dach/Newhook Center or wing, either one, with Roy - Heineman, Kapanen, Lidstrom - Tuch, Beck and Florian to finish off the 4th line. Watch Filip Eriksson next year, he will break out. Montreal may not need to make the trade everyone is thinking they’re going to need to make. They’re overstocked in goal and on D, and some of their prospects are planning out, with internal competition. The team is going to be a 4 line team, 7 dmen of mobility and some nastiness. Like I said, Hughes can, should, and will be patient, they don’t need to chase, let the other teams chase them
@@starledge btw, Gallagher and Anderson will be gone by draft day 25. Armia will get traded at the deadline. Gallagher will fill a teams cap ceiling next year, he will also be attractive as he is looking healthy for the first time in years. As for Anderson, something was lost last year and he packed it in around February. He has value, his contact is over when he’s 33, a buyer will grab him next year, or before the draft
@@carycwilliams Hughes hasn't traded for an established player yet, not in 2 1/2 years ... not in nets, not on defence, not up front. He's building. Looking forward to F Xhekaj, Beck & Tuch with A Xhekaj & Mailloux behind them!
@@starledge exactly, he doesn’t need do just because everyone is saying; do this, do that, and do the next thing. My thoughts too, Xhekaj and Mailloux on the same pairing. They dont
@@Spartan113 Of course they do. Verbeek is listening to offers, as Pierre LeBrun reported. It's all over sports news- The Score, The Hockey News, The Fourth Period, etc.
@kurrentscom lmao other teams are calling Verbeek about Zegras. He isn't calling them. The same Lebrun article you are referencing literally says exactly that.
No player in the league is untouchable except for mcdavid. If a team wants to call and offer what would be a good trade in Verbeeks eyes, he's not doing his job if he doesn't listen. That does not mean they want to trade him.
No Guhle..
No wayyyy we don't want lazy rats 😅
No chance either of them traded. Agreed Struble and a 2nd maybe anything more nope.
People are forgetting Zegras is a proven NHLer at this point and literally had a broken ankle last year. Sounds like a lot of overvaluing from the the Habs side considering Reinbacher is completely unproven at the NHL level.
Right handed defensemen with size and talent are a highly valuable commodity, small forwards are a dime a dozen and we already have too many of them.
Bingo
Zegras isnt even that great. Sure he’s a good player but considering Anaheim wants to trade him and zegras wants to leave. The price shouldn’t be stupid high. He can’t even win face offs.

Nope. Zegras ain’t worth that. Let some other team make that mistake.
@@LeylaDerben This is the correct take. Zegras literally had 2 60point seasons back to back and had a broken ankle last year. A lot of overvaluing going on for Reinbacher who at this point is an unproven asset.
@@Winterb0rn88 Reinbacher is an unproven asset who looks like a coaches dream who had multiple teams trying to trade up to draft him. Everyone with a brain understands the context of his last season.
Zegras is proven, he’s proven that he’ll be a nightmare for whatever team trades for him. Won’t play defense, won’t work hard on the forecheck, he’ll give you a couple flashy plays a month though, that’s real nice. Hell we just saw him at the Worlds and the coach there didn’t even want to barely play him and when he played he stunk.
Most overrated player in the league. A 2nd liner with more flash than substance. Just hope it’s not the Habs that make that trade.
@@Winterb0rn88 It's a mistake to value Reinbacher that way. Reinbacher's development window is wide open. Zegras' window is pretty much closed with over 200 NHL games played. Bad move during a full rebuild.
Well, i would do it, you go get Zegras for Reibacher, and then you draft one the top right Dman at fifth.
I'm sorry. Reinbacher is a right handed defensemen slotted to be Top 4. Ain't no way you get rid of a decent right handed defensemen. They are unicorns.
What is the point? We can just draft a better forward than Zegras. There are a lot of them available at 5th.
@@HabsTypeBeat Indeed ... and those forwards have a bigger size and a better attitude most likely.
A hockey trade or I’m out. Ducks don’t need more picks they need nhl ready young pieces in a return for zegras otherwise why trade him? Everyone wants the habs to get the bargain of the trade when the ducks are giving up a legitimate scorer …all for what again?
Struble + late pick + Owen Beck... if I'm the Ducks, I'm jumping on this simply because of Beck.
His play during playoff time reminds me of a potential Sam Bennett, whose stock is REALLY high right now. Love Jake Evans, but Beck should rapidly become an upgrade.
The reports coming out of Anaheim are nasty. Zegras' value will begin to plummet. The problem is, is Hughues in a position to make the best offer?
Lately, I've been thinking. I've been calling Zegras to MTL draft 2024 for over a year now. But Don Waddell getting himself the job in Columbus is now a factor. And this guy isn't afraid to pony up when needed, especially that he'll probably try to make a splash in Columbus. I can definitely see him going after Necas, but he might have the ammo to get Zegras as well. It ain't his roster, he has no attachment it.
Besides, the talks about Hughues moving up to secure Demidov are getting intense. I'm thinking that between paying a huge X to get Zegras or Necas, and paying that same X to Anaheim or Columbus + 5th might be the better road to go.
Can this season end already? I can't wait for things to get moving again :)
Don't worry guys he is going to be a flyer
i'm sorry, complete bullcrap. The ducks value a lot Zegras, only this "reporters" think they don't do. We got no replacement for him. Complete click bait.
Anaheim will have at least 3-4 forwards better than Zegras.
@@HabsTypeBeat Name those forwards
@@matthewkabel6246 Demidov, Lindstrom, Catton, Iginla, Eiserman. Id take them all over Zegras. As for Eiserman specifically, if you want a guy who isn’t going to play any defense or forecheck might as well take the elite goal scorer in that case.
@@HabsTypeBeat first off, Zegras forechecks and shows commitment defensively, he’s not some great shutdown C but he’s competent in his own end. Also I wasn’t talking about draft eligibles, you said Anaheim would have 3-4 forwards better than Zegras on their team so I assumed you were talking about guys already on the Ducks
@@matthewkabel6246 he doesn’t forecheck and he isn’t competent defensively. There’s not a stat in the world that paints the picture you’re suggesting. On the Ducks that’s Carlsson, Gauthier and McTavish in a couple years. All will be more complete and still high end offensively. Might not be as flashy but flash doesn’t equal effective.
Z egras 😅
😅😅
Zeegras
I'd trade either in a heartbeat
Hell nah son
You obviously don't know much about hockey ... if you did, you would immediately realize how dumb your statement is.
Kind of reminds me of the Sergachev/Drouin or McDonagh/Gomez trades ... that didn't work out too well either.
So Montreal is the type of team where they want all the good young players around the league and trade away the players they dont like or wont be significant. If you want something, you need to give something. And spare me the late 1st round or 2nd round picks that nobody cares about. Trades needs to satisfy both teams.
Newsflash: All teams do the same ... get with the program.
That's what negociations are for ... find a deal that is acceptable for both parties involved.
Most of what we hear on talk shows and RUclips (including this channel) is from unreliable sources and should be taken with a grain of salt.
