- Sony will announce those two new lenses on Feb 26:

But there is more buzz about an announcement coming relatively shortly after (so 1-2 months). We might finally get the Sony A7V and also a new stunning GM lens!

I saw a few critical comments on some of the videos, and I don't understand why people are so critical of you and your website. Plastic lenses are very common in eyeglasses in very high quality for long time. Also „organic“ (=plastic) elements are used for aspheric moulded elements and from my nowledge in some Lumix MFT lenses.
But there are several trade offs like stability in certain Environment. Canon has a long tradition in optical research and it sounds quite plausible that they look into inventions in that direction.

Tamron 200-800 f/6.3 lol, that would have to be enormous and probably weigh like 4Kg.
The Nikon PF 800 f/6.3 already is pretty big and weighs 2.3Kg, and that's a PF lens.
No Nikon 800f 6.3 is a S lens

That’s why I like Sony cameras more because , Sony didn’t release every year for new cameras unlike other companies Nikon Canon
The 200-800 would be great plus constant aperture.
XD that would be 15 cm longer than 200-600.. nobody in reality needs that lenses.
@@pentagramyt417 If you're a beginner solo shooter and handholding it, sure. But for sports and wildlife, that lens is a dream. I would carry 20+ kilos if it has enough range and brightness. It's on a tripod, why would you care how much it weights.

Sony has released the a7iv, the a9iii, the a1ii, and now they are presenting the a7v?
Meanwhile, on the video side, we're stuck in 2020, while they're releasing the fourth or fifth camera. This is starting to take a turn that doesn't make sense.
Sony really really needs this a7v update when Z8/Z7ii and R5ii/R6iii(upcoming) are absorbing all the enthusiast segment.
I think the photo market is bigger than video, sony is prioritizing photo cameras. But my speculation is that they will update the s line and fx line later this year.
@@alexchen4442 I'll be interested to see (and kind of surprised) if they update the A7s line. Personally I think they are heading the same way Nikon and Canon are going - giving their higher-end mirrorless cameras all of the 'important' photo and video specs while maintaining a clear distinction between models. Similar to the Z8/Z9 and the R6ii/R5ii. Enough separation between the hybrid models to make people choose one over the other. The FX line will now be the video centric camera's, just like Canon and their cinema line. I just can't see how they continue the A7s while still producing great hybrid cameras AND updating the FX line, too.
The Canon RF 50mm 1.8 are already made of plastic and not glass:)

He mentioned the S1R II announcement coming Februrary 25th and in a previous video he mentioned another camera announcement coming probably on April, but he said he thinks it WON'T be an S1H II camera. He said that his sources said it will be something different / unexpected.
