I never thought watching someone get a manicure would be soooo relaxing!
Thank you
Anna you've inspired me, I'm still enjoying following your videos, my nails are looking much better, been doing your recommendations, even got a urea cream and daily oil : ). And now I decided I will get the Dior nail glow and will do my own manicure for my upcoming wedding!
Update: The nail glow is really as brilliant as the hype! You also mentioned in another video that if you regularly care and polish (as per) the nails they will change shape and they did! All my life I've had... jagged internal edges of the nails' whites, in some areas they would go further in as if the nail was lifted; I also got a Mont Blanc glass file 😉, gave up the clipper, regularly filed them nicely and used a gentle clear polish, plus all the oily concoctions. Now the whites are all nicely rounded and in line like well behaved children!
Never imagined my "little girl" nails would become 'a thing' for me, I know nobody really notices but they now give me joy somehow : ))
It’s a game changer ❤
Lovely results of daily practice using oils. I made concoction of equal parts avocado , jojoba & vitamin E -hot oil treatments daily- wow what joyous treatment.
I love watching this clients nails getting better and better. The skin around her nails looks really beautiful now and shes almost there growing out the damage 💪
Anna, I'm so grateful I found you on RUclips & your inspiration to cure my weak, pealing nails. I'm at week 10 with hot oil treatments & after washing hands I reapply my oil. Thank you so much for your wisdom. Your teaching skills are wonderful.
The results for this client are truly phenomenal. You can appreciate the importance of taking photos because I wouldn't have believed it was the same person from her first visit. 🎉 👏
Looking good! I’m also on my nail healing journey right now thanks to you ❤
I love that you focus on healthy nails and not perfection! So amazing ! Thank you for sharing so much knowledge and insight
Your clients nails look so much better. Great work ladies!
Thank you Anna for mentioning me and pointing out the correct angle to hold the file when shaping the nail close to the side walls. I have learned so much from you. I look forward to continuing this journey to correct decades of good intentions that produced poor outcomes. Who knew🤷🏼♀️.
Your client has beautiful hands. Love your work, Anna. Can't wait to come and visit one day ❤
As much as I love nail colours this natural look, to me, is absolute perfection 😍
After watching many of your videos I finally purchased the Dior Nail Glow. All I can say is wow - my nails look so lovely and in so much better shape than they were. If anyone has been on the fence about this products, you honestly must try it 🦋
I’m so happy you like it! 💕
I don’t see an affiliate link for the Dior Glow. Is there one?
Hi Gwen, I don't have affiliate link for Dior. I wish :)
Ana, your nail are the chicest and most elegant nails on the internet 😍💖👌
Thank you Marina!
@7:38 thank you for explaining this! love your helpful tips on shaping the side walls. more please :)
Her nails look absolutely perfect!!❤
Love it!❤
You're client has been doing her homework! 😊
So amazing! Patience and care is key!🌸
I love watching your videos. Thank you. 🤗
Thank you Doris!! 🤗
Thank you! Very informative
Very impressive!
Thanks Anna!
Beautiful result ❤
I wish I could find someone like you in England! Everywhere I go they damage my nails or cut my proximal nail fold :(
Same. I've never had a removal that hasn't left my nails damaged.
Do you have any tips on maximizing adhesion with damaged nails? You did an amazing job and I’m so impressed the gel you put on to protect them during growing out the damaged stuck so well
Hi Katie! Depends on the extent of the damage but when the nail is too thinned out I would not advise gel or any enhancements because you are risking skin contact and overexposure (permanent allergy). Please check out my recent video for details ruclips.net/video/_9PUgeELG3U/видео.html
I did try OPI Repair Mode, and it has been very good about restructuring my peeling nail. It stopped peeling and, after flaking off a couple of layers, has stabilized while I am growing it out. I wonder if it is at all similar to what we do with peels in esthetic work - the "peel" doesn't strip or damage, it actually rebuilds skin structure from the bottom up, sloughing off layers as it goes and after 4-6 weeks you start to notice your skin looks smoother and is less sensitive.. I've explained it to clients as if you rebuild a poorly done brick wall, making sure your cement is tight with the bricks for strength and appearance.
Skin works very differently from a nail plate. Nail is dead and skin is not. Skin "grows" from bottom up, a nail does not. Nail is made at the matrix and it's pushed out and rides on the nail bed.
Peels do work as exfoliants meaning that they loosen up the top layer of skin making it shed. Some do damage the top layer which encourages new skin growth and faster cell turn over. Some peels are very aggressive like for example blue peel which is some serious 20-30% acid applied on the skin in a controlled way and that damage stimulates new collagen etc
OPI Repair Mode works totally differently. It does not exfoliate but it helps to repair damage bonds between the keratin fibres.
Can you do a video on how to take care of nails with acrylics? And what one should while acrylics are on and after acrylic removal to ensure nails are healthy?
What do you recommend for nails that grow so brittle and thin with acrylics ?
Thank you!
Hi Angela, this is the advice you can follow even when wearing acrylic.
ruclips.net/video/8LXeYtTG8OU/видео.html
Well, wearing acrylic can damage the nails and when the nails are covered with acrylic you can't really condition the nails.
You’re client her nails and the skin around her nails looks so much better than the first time she come to you. Also now it’s possible to see that you’re client her nails are growing back healthy. How long it will take for you’re client to have healthy grown nails?
Hi Shirley-Ann, probably another month....
@@TheSalonLife What type of bit are you using for gel removal?
How many rounds per minute do you recommend for the natural nail with a diamond bit?
Edit: asked too soon! You mentioned 8000rpm later on in the video 😇
Hi Anna! I’m wondering if you can make a video talking about “moisturizing” base coats. As an always-polished person, I sometimes struggle to fit in oil treatments to keep my nails at prime. It would be so fantastic if the hydrating/moisturizing claims were true and accurate so I can feel like popping on a moisturizing base coat before my manicure is doing something good, but I have a hard time telling if ingredients like ceramides (essie smooth-e, my go-to) or vitamins (A C E etc), or whatever Pentavitin, the ingredient Nail Teks touts, for instance, can survive and remain effective in all the harsh solvents & other polish ingredients. Forgive me if this isn’t the best place to ask, but I’d love your thoughts!
Awesome question!! I will asap!
@@TheSalonLife amazing. Thank you!
What kind of Drying Drops are you using?
These were from Essence. I don't usually use them but I felt like doing it this time. You don't need to use them
thank you, I love your video's
Anna, have you ever tried Nailberry Açai Nail Elexir? Your client’s nails are looking so much better. You both must be feeling very proud.
❤❤❤❤
@The Salon Life I'm wondering if you have a fair idea of Biosculpture and their nail treatment line? If yes, what do you think about them?
I'm struggling so bad, I managed to fully quit between 2011-2020 but now stuck in a cycle of managing to grow them out for a little while, then something stressful happens and I bite/rip them all off 😭
Thanks for sharing
Hi Anna! Can you recommend some good hand and foot creams for softer skin I could get in Europe :)?
Kerasal is available in Europe :)

Hi Ana. You used to use the blue cross cuticle remover. Do you now only use an e-file only to remove it?
Hi Pearls Petals. We still use both in the studio :)
About the filing in one direction thing, do you have any links to the supposed photographs that Doug Schoon tested in his research? I generally trust his research, but this particular question is bugging me. I haven't been able to find any evidence to support his claim that filing back and forth has no effect. I can't trust his name alone, so I want evidence of his claim.
Yes. The only link I have is in the description box in the video. From experience I agree with this notion. What matters is the grit of the file. You can file with coarser but finish with a sponge file like I always show. This bevels the nail edge and no catches.
The nails are not built in a way that filing in 1 or both directions would make a difference. There are 3 main layers, bottom layer that takes up around 20-30% which is built with the cells overlapping like bunch of pancakes in no particular direction. Middle letter that takes up around 50% of the nails plate where the cells are actually built side to side and the top layer again with the cells being built in no particular direction. So 1 side or side to side doesn’t matter. Non of my clients have peeling or weak nails after me filing both directions. And I’m talking almost 30 years of practice. I think the whole idea of filing 1 side started with people who market glass files. With these files when you file you can’t really file both directions as the file makes an unpleasant sound and feeling. So I think they came up with the brilliant idea that the correct way is 1 way.
I would like to see a scientific evidence that the filing in both directions matters.
When it comes to nails there is so little science available it’s sad. Compare to hair and skin it’s laughable. I keep looking and all I see is articles in magazines written by god knows who.

@@TheSalonLife I think this article can be helpful. I appreciate it. I apologize if I sounded against the claim in any way. I'm against filing in one direction, truly. I simply want to arm myself with research behind why I think filing in both directions is fine. Perhaps this particular question is one that has an obvious answer when you understand the anatomy of the nail, so I'll try to arm myself with more research. Trying to explain this to my boss is going to be fun.
No worries at all. I didn’t take your question the wrong way. I sometimes am to the point because I have a minute between clients and I respond to comments quickly and it can sound not the way I intended.
The lack of research and good information is frustrating because all we get is marketing claims. So I just share my experience and base my opinions on that experience but I’m open to different ideas too. If you come across something good please share as well :)
🙂
Would the nails be better to wear nail polish or have none? My nails are quite short atm
It really depends. People who bite their nails often find wearing nail polish helps them resist biting.
@@TheSalonLife what about someone who picks at there skin the proximal nail fold sometimes and fidgets with there nails a lot?
Her nails are looking 👀 Pretty good 🫶🏾👊🏾💅🏽 definite transformation from before and after
Truly taken care of the nails is very important and letting thee damage grow out is very important along with keeping the nails short so the process of the rest of thee nail thats connected to that damage part grows out 🫶🏾👊🏾
Yes, using a regular file is best than using the e-file, especially if you are trained and know exactly how to use a regular file which most have started out with from thee very beginning because E- files were even out back then🫶🏾👊🏾
I suggest if anybody doesn’t know how to use a hand file or e-file, even though hand file is Best to not do it and go to somebody that is trained.. but also, you can do things yourself that the train professional can let you know about which is keeping your cuticles hands moisturize pushing back the cuticle gently probably a wooden stick in the temperature of your water to use can affect your skin as well someone’s on, but I would definitely watch a lot of her videos if you want to get educated on how to take care of your nails at home, and then the rest of it, that you’re not able to do to go in to a train professional to due a workup on improving thee health of your nails 💅🏽 🫶🏾
I’ve been following what you say about everything skin ,nails and I’m very happy with results I’ve never ever had such nice skin before watching your videos thanks so much ❤️🦘🐨🐨🦘❤️
