George knows he's good, but he also acknowledges that he is still a student of his heroes! What a guy! :)
"I am extremely humble." Haha, that's a clever line. Funny as usual.
“I’m just not very humble about my humility”. Haha, good one, Jorge !
i just love the way George says he is extremly humble..n i just love dis guy's playing n personality..he s not lik d typical arrogant musicians of dose days
The art of economy and the power of silence
The guy is just awesome
Fabulous guitarist. 👍👍👍
One of the greats
This interactive mag is awesome. Great interview, and the lick and style piece that they did was fantastic too. George is thee man!
George lynch gives me a wicked sensation
he is always nice when i run into him at NAMM
Lynch is the man!!!
OK, so the dude is brilliant and funny as well as everything else... damn him!
The MAN!
It would be fantastic if this "interviewer" could learn the power of silence!
begin--- the first lesson was tuning. he had one those old spin dial tuners. lol, it was accurate. this was before i figured out harmonic tuning. standard 440 Hrz. paul h. asked me if he could play my guitar, i said sure..here. "you have a good one with high action". get the low e (top string in tune first), then tune the rest of the strings. the next lesson he said, i'm not going to teach you how to play a song, i am going to teach you how to play any song. there is a system. take notes and memorize everything i tell you. wow, i had to work hard every week.
Harmonic tuning is not accurate
As a huge Iommi fan I am little shocked he sort of pushed his lead playing aside as mediocre or whatever but at least he made up for it by admitting Iommi is and was the riff god of metal. Iommi's vibrato alone is hardly ever matched.
i could not afford a good guitar that stays in tune. so i bought a used ibanez artist for $250.00. i couldn't afford an amp, so i rigged up something on my cheap am/fm record player to get a reverse signal out to the speakers, through the head phone jack. so i started taking lessons from one of my friends. a great guitar player, he told me he had taken lessons from at least 10 instructors. end----
Hi George, great performance!! U still have it, and always will. I'm an old fan and friend. Do you live, or have a place in Longwood, FL.? I'm in needed of a place, maybe near there. Sorry for the personal question. God bless, and let me know. Thanks
ahhhh, i miss that guy. life changes and people move away and all that.
"The original shredders" I liked that one hah
what is high action? the strings are higher above the frets than normal.
the man
He was 13 during Beatle Mania? Didn't know he was that old.
It's not a finger tip problem. It's just his style.
Is this George's house? same place where recorded guitar bible video?
Right!
Lynch has aged very well, the guy clearly looks after himself.
One of my favorite Iommi grooves is Anno Mundi.
He is good looking.
I feel like this guy was annoying George the whole time. King George! 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks so much. U know me from a mutual friend, who passed recently. Please get back to me, I will explain
He sounds like Thomas Haden church someone's
steve lukather
No mention of EVH??? Every guitar player on the L.A. circuit back in the early 80's sounded like EVH clones...
Lynch EVH and Rhoads were all around at the same time constantly learning from each other. It’s also rumored that George taught EVH how to tap
Terry Kilgore was the main tapping influence of that group of players.
Ok im going open myself to all sort of slings and arrows. : who is george lynch? Ive NEVER heard of him.when he speak of the Beatles i figure were close in age. Im 62 , but he sure looks younger.
He was the guitarist for Dokken. One of THE revered shredders of the 80's metal scene. He's probably not too far behind your age.
leftyfusion88 gracci!
@The Essene I just googled it- he's actually 63! I had no idea. lol!!
He's the most talented Rock guitarist of all time.
He almost played for Ozzy around the Randy Time. Imagine that.....
George looks at the bald guy and starts massaging his hair. Baaahahaha
Gresion formula George ! Got rid of that Grey dude!
The bald guy is not bad either.
