Stafford Station on 8th June 1989
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Stafford Station taken on 08/06/1989 The weather was to improve while filming and I managed to capture the majority of the normal operations. Some of particular interest, including pairs of class 20s. I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material.

HST getting in the way of a Large Logo Railfreight 31 with a very interesting assortment of stock; NSE Mk 2, an RMB, some sort of high security mail vehicle converted from a BG, and as if that wasn't enough a Royal Mail liveried Parcels DMU as well!! 😂

That was absolutely fantastic, loved the variety in traction and rolling stock passing through the station

Looked to be a very busy place to go and observe trains plus a nice variety of power as well then.

I have watched many of your clips. 70s and 80s WCML is what I really enjoy, so thank you for keeping this era alive

Amazing video, loved how the HST set at the start carried 3 variations of the intercity liveries! Swallow power-car at front, blue & grey original full rake of coaches and then Intercity Executive livery Power car on the rear love it

Rake of what looks like freshly painted IC liveried Mk 1s going through non stop behind 47450. Must have been some sort of private charter

Ah yes Stafford in 89 when I nodded off and woke up to an 85 racing us up to Crewe. Camera fail of the 80s.

Wonder how far the light 20’s got before getting stopped for having the headlight on the rear! Wonderful video.

Great video. Those class 82 DVT's must have been in test - it appears the first was delivered in March 1989. Might explain the group of 4 around the 29 minute mark.

It seems odd to think that even those are now part of railway history!

@@spompeythat driver gave plenty of honks, the trackmen seemed to have a rather casual attitude to safety (bordering on bravado) in general in those days
