- For all you Napoleon Dynamite fans. Double C tuning, but capo on 2nd fret, so key of D.
(Strum Machine has fixed the dissonance on the D chord, so I can play songs in D now)
I learned this one from Josh Turknett’s tab (clawhammerbanjo.net). And yeah, I know - “Smile!” Nope. This song was very challenging to get right, and it’s still not perfect, so no smiles yet. Sorry, not sorry. 😊
Thank you! I'd been desperately trying to figure it out on guitar, not even dreaming it was possible to play on banjo.
So Awesome! Makes me want to watch Napoléon Dynamite Again LOL!
Thanks! Go for it! 😊
I'd never heard this tune before, and I'm glad I heard it here first. Thank you
Beautiful! Brava!
Thank you!😊
Superb work. Hats off, we'll played. 😊
Thank you! 😊
i really do like this the way you play it ,,,happy days
Thank you!
This is absolutely fantastic. I’ve got it on loud and repeat. Makes me dance. Blessings from southern England.
Thanks! So glad you’re enjoying it! 😊
Thanks! Granny 🪕
Yeah, that looked hard! Still, I’m inspired: picking my banjo up and starting over from scratch after a long layoff… thank you!
That’s great! Happy picking, strumming, etc.! 😊
You are amazing, Granny❣️
Thank you. It’s really just lots of practice!
Cool tune BG!
Keep 'em coming.
Thanks!
Banjo Granny, you smile only when you feel like it. Give 'em hell 💜🪕🔥
Lol, thanks Hillary! I feel silly just smiling for smiling’s sake, and it comes across as me looking smug, so if smiling doesn’t happen naturally, it doesn’t happen at all! 😊
Excellent, thankyou for sharing😊
Thank you! My pleasure!
Wunderschön !!!!!
Danke!
Nice!
Thanks!
Holy hell, that was great!
Thank you so much!!
Very nice. Is that Mr. Scruggs in the photo on the wall? I'm guessing yes.
Yes, it sure is. 😊
Great Job!! 👏👏👏 I was wondering how long you've been playing? And have you taken lessons? Whatever the case may be, you've put in the time and are very good!
Thank you! I have playing for 7 years, and I took 3-finger style lessons for about 3-4 years and clawhammer lessons for about 1 1/2 years.
LOVE IT 💖
THANK YOU!

Bitte Schön.
I much admire your claw-h technique & style, quite very 'melodic'.... rare with clawhammer. It appears that you also play 3 finger ???
Im a claw hammerer but have gravitated to mostly 'blazing' celtic reels and jigs, using an arpeggio-type claw technique (as you apparently do), using a metal index finger pick for never ending 2 & 3 string ornamentation of triplets etc., .
BTW .... without the metal finger pick, there'd be too much blood and gore on the drum head when clawing the 'blazing' tunes.
Again, I like your music style and technique.
@@richh1576 Thank you! Yes, I play clawhammer, 3-finger and some 2-finger. I have never tried a clawhammer pick. Sometimes my index finger and thumb can get quite irritated, (had a bloody thumb just yesterday!) so when that happens I wrap a Band-Aid Skin-Flex bandage around each one (with the padded side away from the string.) It really helps, and it doesn’t interfere with my playing at all.
❤❤❤
This was harmonious…?🤭🤗
I see what you did there! 😉
Pretty sure that is a banjo, not a harmonium.
Look into the camera and don’t blink while playing….
LOL. That would be hilarious! 😳
Can you smile dear???😊
Looks like you didn’t read the video description. 😊
😁You never smile, pretty woman, but you play very very good,I like it😍
You play very beautifully, smile or not, I enjoy hearing your Banjo playing😊
@@bluefishfh1950 Thank you! 😊
“Wicked” oh that means the best in English terms, 🪕😇😇🪕
Lol, thanks. I was already familiar with that usage of "wicked," but if I hadn't known, I would have wondered why you would say such a thing! Thanks for clarifying!
