    looks like a good way to also make laser beams in general.

    You can also combine glow (without autoexposure off) and incandescence to give a similar effect

    Hi!!! Great Tutorials!!!
    I want to ask you something...
    I just installed V-Ray, but I notice that you are using mental Ray... this last one is better for rendering?? What do you think?? What do you recommend??
    And sorry about my English but I am Argentinian :)

      Ignacio ( great name ! ) V-Ray is awesome but expensive. And Mental Ray ? It was good but is now out of production :-(

  • @russellnickels4833
    @russellnickels4833 10 лет назад +1

    Hey Mike, quick question;
    No matter what color I set my Phong-E to, it renders silver :c Any ideas?

    • @MHTutorials3D
      @MHTutorials3D  9 лет назад

      Payton Pellitteri Hi Payton, the standard color for Phong E is shiny grey ( silver ) Did you change the color of your Phong material in the attribute editor to green ?

    • @MHTutorials3D
      @MHTutorials3D  9 лет назад

      If I remember correctly this effect can only be rendered in Maya software

    • @paytonpellitteri610

      Mike Hermes I just tried it in that, and this is the result I have now.

      Payton Pellitteri I really don't get what went wrong. Seems you have done everything correctly. Must be some sort of installation or hardware error

    can we genrate fire like fire is coming from laser light////?????....thanks...

    • @MHTutorials3D
      @MHTutorials3D  6 лет назад

      Yes, animate the emmissive light being on ( or off ) for 12 frames at a time ( so half a seconds ) and hide the source of the light

      Yes

      and just like that Maya is winning me over from blender V_V

    • @thejolliestrancher1380

      The glow will not come with the export, but you can use emission in Unity to have the glow.

    So did maya 2016 take out the metalic effect? I can not find it.

      +ccolinryann You mean the MIA_Material_X Chrome preset ?

    • @ccolinryann
      @ccolinryann 8 лет назад

      +Mike Hermes so what is the problem?

    • @MHTutorials3D
      @MHTutorials3D  8 лет назад

      +ccolinryann You need to activate mental Ray in the plugin manager. Here are instructions mhtutorialsruclips.net/user/201507/04/q-i-cant-find-mental-ray-in-autodesk-maya/

  • @sabyasachirajguru7917

    how to export that as an object including the glowing part

    • @MHTutorials3D
      @MHTutorials3D  7 лет назад

      The glow is material dependant and will only work with the same renderer. The other option would be to bake it

      +Ngoc Quang Nguyen Doan What version of Maya are you using and what are your system resources ? ( CPU, RAM, VIDEO ) Look at your render settings to see if you can set the settings a bit lighter if you know what I mean

    • @ilikechorizopizza0
      @ilikechorizopizza0 9 лет назад

      I use Autodesk 2014, my system resource is CPU, I'm new to Maya so please help me with everything

    • @MHTutorials3D
      @MHTutorials3D  9 лет назад

      +Ngoc Quang Nguyen Doan Hi Ngoc,
      When using Maya 2014 you need :
      - A minimum of 4GB ram ( 8 GB is better )
      - A 64 bit AMD or Intel core CPU
      - A minimum of 2GB free harddisk space
      A slow system will freeze when forced to do heavy calculations like rendering
      Mike

      +RemChu This is the MIA-Material_X, a part of the mental Ray rendering option. You need to install mental Ray to use the material
