I went full carnivore 5 months and qualified for the Boston Marathon. Now 23 months carnivore and heading to Boston in 3 weeks. I’m faster and stronger than ever at 62 years old. Recovery time is amazingly fast. No soreness, no joint pain running 2500 miles a year. Highly recommend. Good video Loren

I would strongly advice to taper into the diet. Getting fat adapted is no joke. Take a month or two (preferably the latter) to ease into it. Your guts and body will thank you. Can't stress this enough.

Excellent information as always. I too went cold turkey and don’t regret it now but it did take a month or two in order to break the sugar addiction. After a year now on carnivore I don’t have those cravings anymore. Eating the right mix of protein and fat has definitely increased my workout productivity and I’m starting to actually see the results of my labor. Keep up the great work. I'm a completely fat-adapted endurance athlete thanks to carnivore. Since carnivore three years ago, I run 100 miles a week on ruminants, water & salt. This morning, I ran my fifth marathon since carnivore, and ran my third Boston Marathon qualifying time. BTW, I'm a 62 y.o. LMHR.

@@reni6771 You found the right channel. If you peruse Lauren's channel, you will find several videos on how to get started on carnivore. The activities you mention require a significant commitment in time practicing and recovering. What hardly any carnivore influencer discusses is the recuperative power of carnivore. As I noted, I ran 26.2 miles this morning at race pace. As you can imagine, this takes a significant toll on the body. By Tuesday I'll be ready to run again, while most carb-dependent marathoners will take two weeks to recover. Something to consider.

As a semi retired powerlifter, I've trained for the lady 5 years being completely carnivore and know that i need no carbs to have energy to train, contrary to what we've always heard. I do s lot of high rep training along with my beach singles and have full squatted 135 lbs for 120 reps, 225 for 50 reps, 315 for 19 reps, 405 for 7 reps, 500 for 3 reps, and 600 for 1 rep, all raw, and fasted. These were all morning workouts after black coffee only. Professor Tom Noakes talks about how this is done when we are fat adapted. No carbs for me, thank you.

When you spoke of the raw milk it reminded me of Michael McKnight talking about when he did the Cocodona 250 one year. Raw milk literally saved his race and he took first place. He said that if he didn’t have the raw milk he wouldn’t have made it because he couldn’t keep anything else down. He is also a very low to no carb ultra athlete.

We are all so used to eating in excess with carbs that we’ve forgotten how to “feel” what our bodies need and when . The cool thing with carnivore for me is that I can feel that again . Small adjustments make a big difference in how I feel and perform

My experience is that I lost a good amount of strength, size, and performance, and was okay with it because I looked and felt fantastic otherwise, but after a few months there was like a switch that went off in me, and now I'm putting size back on while remaining lean, and my strength and performance came back with a vengeance. And by the way I just eat intuitively, no tracking at all. Meat - mostly beef, eggs, and butter, 3 meals a day.

I’m a cyclist and have been low-ish carb (100-150g/day) for years. I think I’m fat adapted as I can ride fasted for 2 hour endurance rides no problem.
I’ve been trying the carnivore diet for the past week and I’m suffering a lot in VO2max high intensity sessions. My legs are exhausted and lack power. Is this just part of the adaptation process, or maybe fat oxidation is just too slow for a glycolytic activity like hard 4 minute intervals?

    • @backfru
      @backfru 5 месяцев назад

It's because a carnivore diet has no place for anaerobic activitity.
Why do you think a zero carb diet would improve your performance in high intensity sessions?
What do you think the fuel source is for these sessions?

Please, Allow me to ask a couple of question about the Carnivore diet(i need some advice in my unsuccessful Carnivore diet experience):
I am now over 120 days into a Strick Carnivore diet (I only eat meat and eggs. Nothing else 400-500 g of cocked meat plus 7-8 eggs a day. Divided in 2 meals) I am now 34 years old, 181cms tall, 180lbs(+-81,5kg) at +-20%BF. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week.(lift weigths to help sustain or increase muscle mass and assist fat loss)
I started the Carnivore diet to improve my body composition. I was a HEALHTY guy with NO chronic illnesses or health problems.
I lost about 17 lbs in the first 6 weeks (Mostly water) but since then I haven't been able to change my body composition. I have now gone more than 6 weeks without registering any body changes (weight loss, decrease in BF% or measurements). In fact i have gained 2,5 lbs in the last 3 weeks but might be just water.
I still need to lose at least another 15lbs of fat to reach my goal of being below 15%BF. However, I don't see how the Carnivora Diet will facilitate this process. I have not experienced most of the benefits common to Carnivores (Improved sleep, more energy/disposition, etc.) nor can I change my body composition.
So I would like to ask more experienced Carnivores:
1- How long should I extend my experience with the Carnviroa diet to be able to lose the excess bodyfat I still have?(at least 15lbs of fat)
2- What is the minimum time you should maintain a Carnivora diet when it is not working for you?
3-Is the Carnivore diet effective for those who are aldreay healthy and just need to improve body composition?
I am affraid this way of eating is too restrictive, for a healthy person, with no aditional benefit from any other whole food diet.!
    Thank you for your attention!

Yes! Also realize that vodka is made from potatoes. So, in reality it doesn't matter if one eats a potato or drinks it's cousin, vodka as it will affect the body in the same way. Also, our bodies ferments sugar within itself... not a practice I'd recommend ...🤔

But show me a world-class athlete, a world record holder, who follows a "carnivore diet"
As I'm sure you'll find - everyone who wants to push the boundaries of human performance consumes carbohydrates before important events
    And why would they NOT?

Now you should try not intermittent fasting for a while. Try eating just a small small meal right when you wake up and then in three hours, eat another small meal basically spread out all your food that you eat in one day and you’ll stable your blood sugar a lot better than intermittent fasting and then spiking it when you eat at 1:00 or 4 o’clock, I tried both and by eating right when you get up will lower your cortisol and increase your testosterone and balance your hormones, you’ll have way more energy, eating the same amount of food but space it out throughout the day. Best of luck to you!😊

I disagree with the physique part, I think bodybuilders can, and should, eat intuitively using a carnivore diet. Awesome vid though 😁Also I made some chicken soup yesterday, bone broth, chicken thighs and eggs. It's the BOMB diggity. And I'm gonna be that guy, milk and fruit are not carnivore. What a poor video. As much as I agree with carnivore, this is not a good argument.
Especially the claim that you're going by intuition, yet doing all this math, those are opposites.
This guy gets completely confused by it and understandably so:
    ruclips.net/video/GSExdve5VWk/видео.html
A lot of the confusion is because you're skipping over a bunch of stuff that I know, so I know your intent.
And milk is to get fat, not muscular, fruit is bad, "it won't kill you" is not an argument.
But many people are going to misunderstand this video.
