I love kabuto's character. I somewhat of a reflection of myself in his struggles. I feel the same since with kisame. Giving your all just to find out you mean nothing and you are replacable is a dreadful feeling that leaves you numb to others. Both of them had no fear if death as long as they completed their goals. These are 2 if my favorite character as far as character development. This is why i love this anime

Hard to hate Kabuto. He was unwillingly manipulated all of this life. He is the perfect example of a victim of circumstances until he absorbed Orochimaru. I hope he finds himself one day but very often, people like him don’t.

Thanks for finally getting to my boi Kabuto. You gave a spot you review of his character and struggles . And say what you want bout him,, But Itachi putting him under genjutsu was the best thing for him. With his new rational sense of self and the power he has. He is without a doubt one of the most powerful shinobi in all of Naruto

If the concept had been utilized in a more organic way rather than a rushed split second escape route then it would be more appreciated. Still I appreciated the fact that it was a more peaceful solution to fixing Kabuto rather than killing him & as a result allowed him to survive the war

They would actually beat the bad guy and the newer generation wouldn't have a chance to shine and improve and all that. I mean look at who Orochimaru just manhandled Victor from Kara when the new generation couldn't even touch him. Then burned a pseudo God tree like it was yard trimmings. So if the character is from the older generation, they are either nerfed hard or relegated to the background
If that were to happened, then I think that the village and its leaders would've had a better relationship with the Uchiha clan. Orochimaru would probably encourage and assign more uchiha members to missions outside of the village. Also, Obito would not have come anywhere close to lasting as long as he did when fighting Minato. He might not even survive that engagement since he'll be fighting both Minato and the 4th at the same time. don't think Kakashi would freeze dead in his tracks when he's face to face with the 4th Hokage. 😁
Can we talk about black zetsu? Yamato could create 2x4s, but when black zetsu took him over he gained all chakra natures and could use hashirama class ninjutsu

i would argue that the true first beat down sasuke got where plot armor just barely saved him was against haku. as far as i'm concerned, he very well could have killed sasuke had he chosen to just be a little extra callous that day.
Kabuto is a man of the shadows. Trained under Orochimaru and became his shadow. The only villain in any fiction that was supposed to be a hardcore final villian of sorts, and summoned someone so great that it cast a shadow on him. Itachi winked at him and he became a good guy. Shows up in Boruto as a babysitter? He is very forgettable as a character even though he played such a big role in the story from the start. Kabuto becoming so powerful and being able to get out the Izanami so quickly should have really been expressed more in the story. He is obviously a good character but just gets overshadowed by so many people.
I think Kabuto is also what Naruto could've been if he never had a friend. At so many points Kabuto could've benefitted greatly from someone violently shaking him a few times then smooshing him in a bear hug.
I feel kabuto. I didn’t loose anyone to war. But I have spotty memory of my childhood. When I was 5 my father committed suicide and I guess I repressed a lot of stuff because of it. Everything before the age of 7 is pretty much a blur or little snippet memories. I’m currently 27 and have little to no memories of my dad, or of the house we lived in where he committed the act. I don’t remember my childhood friends or school or anything important like that from my early childhood. It’s bizarre how the mind copes huh.
Nagato and kabuto are my favorite characters from naruto I love that Kabuto was pretty much the only Villian that was a constant threat from the beginning of naruto until the end and he just kept getting stronger out of nowhere he went from weaker than the sound ninja (in appearance anyway) to as strong as Kakashi, to beating a nerfed tsunande to well above kage level all while literally having no personality he's the cockroach of naruto

Tbh I believe part of the problem was extreme oversight on Hiruzens part, to me he did next to nothing to deal with Orochimaru or Danzig hell he pretty much just turned a blind eye to anything Danzo did
I don't think Konoha is actually good. It is just the main character's village. So we see it from his point of view. They had ninjas that did pretty aweful things. But are regarded as heroes.
Of course there's evil in Konoha! Did you not listen to Pain's speech about how the leaf village ruined his village? Madara & the rest of the selfish Uchiha clan was also proof of there being evil in the village. That's why Tobirama never trusted the Uchiha & called them evil, despite knowing full well how the Sharingan originated & why the Uchiha act the way that they do.
You know…I get Kabuto. Like I understand his quest for a sense of self and going above and beyond to carve out that self. Couple that with us sharing a name, Mine isn’t Japanese though. I think he’s probably my favorite of the antagonists in the series

@@Jay-LT_513 I’m not truly sure what caused it in the first place, I guess I was just always the weird kid in school no matter how hard I tried so I ended up adopting likes and dislikes of friends to try to get people to like me more, at least now I have like 30 hobbies so not all bad. I did have some issues at home and my parents fought a lot so it was hard finding one thing to focus on, which I think is one of the main triggers. My parents also had the bad habit of comparing me to the other since I was similar to both in different ways. Yep I got compared to the people both my parents hated 🥲. I can think of only one or two reasons why Danzo didn’t take out Kabuto during the Chunin Exams. 1. Orochimaru working realtionship with Danzo 2. The 3rd Hokage banished Danzo after the Uchiha incident, thus not given him authority to do anything

the conclusion is wrong: kabutos life is defined by trauma -> that creates a personality which tries anything to not lose control anymore (if its a capable person) and a personality which wants to protect everybody he loves in an extreme way e. g. by taking them in. trauma, control and power are also connected, so it makes perfect sense to that he looked for contact with the strongest characters. individualism is the result of other characteristics and can be found by people with really special abilities like the uchias, but kabuto is not like that. sure he is looking for a personality but not to be a special individual but to connect with other people.
idk the more i know about naruto the more im thinking that its not the story of a few ninjas n a boy with a doggo in him but a story of how different people react to pain and how they comes in terms with it, while the main villain group, akatsuki, is the one who wantss to start a war, something that is the root cause for pain.
I still cannot believe how Boruto casually tosses Kabuto away with no further content for him. I want to see him talk to Orochimaru or Mitsuki about his past and for us to see what happen to the Shin clones.

I always thought of Kabuto as the 3rd main character in Naruto. He is just as important to the main story as Naruto and Sasuke. He's also arguably the 3rd most powerful living ninja by the end of the series.
I've always loved Kabuto, I always felt that he had one of the _saddest_ backstories and stories _in general_ more than _any_ other side characters in _Naruto._ But that's just me, you can like or leave a comment if you agree or disagree, I love civil, nice community debates and character analysis and discussions. :3.

My theory about Danzo not noticing, is that he truly wasn’t at the chunin exams- he had sent Orochimaru there to observe in his stead, probably unaware of Orochimaru’s plans. Thus, Kabuto would’ve remained in Danzo’s “blind spot” during the chunin exams.

Shows up in Boruto as a babysitter? He is very forgettable as a character even though he played such a big role in the story from the start. Kabuto becoming so powerful and being able to get out the Izanami so quickly should have really been expressed more in the story. He is obviously a good character but just gets overshadowed by so many people.

I think Kabuto is also what Naruto could've been if he never had a friend. At so many points Kabuto could've benefitted greatly from someone violently shaking him a few times then smooshing him in a bear hug.

When I was 5 my father committed suicide and I guess I repressed a lot of stuff because of it.
Everything before the age of 7 is pretty much a blur or little snippet memories. I’m currently 27 and have little to no memories of my dad, or of the house we lived in where he committed the act.

Nagato and kabuto are my favorite characters from naruto I love that Kabuto was pretty much the only Villian that was a constant threat from the beginning of naruto until the end and he just kept getting stronger out of nowhere he went from weaker than the sound ninja (in appearance anyway) to as strong as Kakashi, to beating a nerfed tsunande to well above kage level all while literally having no personality he's the cockroach of naruto

Tbh I believe part of the problem was extreme oversight on Hiruzens part, to me he did next to nothing to deal with Orochimaru or Danzig hell he pretty much just turned a blind eye to anything Danzo did

Of course there's evil in Konoha! Did you not listen to Pain's speech about how the leaf village ruined his village? Madara & the rest of the selfish Uchiha clan was also proof of there being evil in the village. That's why Tobirama never trusted the Uchiha & called them evil, despite knowing full well how the Sharingan originated & why the Uchiha act the way that they do.
You know…I get Kabuto. Like I understand his quest for a sense of self and going above and beyond to carve out that self. Couple that with us sharing a name, Mine isn’t Japanese though. I think he’s probably my favorite of the antagonists in the series

@@Jay-LT_513 I’m not truly sure what caused it in the first place, I guess I was just always the weird kid in school no matter how hard I tried so I ended up adopting likes and dislikes of friends to try to get people to like me more, at least now I have like 30 hobbies so not all bad. I did have some issues at home and my parents fought a lot so it was hard finding one thing to focus on, which I think is one of the main triggers. My parents also had the bad habit of comparing me to the other since I was similar to both in different ways. Yep I got compared to the people both my parents hated 🥲. And I’m glad you didn’t need to worry about this issue, I hope your mom is doing better.

I can think of only one or two reasons why Danzo didn’t take out Kabuto during the Chunin Exams.
1. Orochimaru working realtionship with Danzo
2. The 3rd Hokage banished Danzo after the Uchiha incident, thus not given him authority to do anything

kabutos life is defined by trauma -> that creates a personality which tries anything to not lose control anymore (if its a capable person) and a personality which wants to protect everybody he loves in an extreme way e. g. by taking them in. trauma, control and power are also connected, so it makes perfect sense to that he looked for contact with the strongest characters.
individualism is the result of other characteristics and can be found by people with really special abilities like the uchias, but kabuto is not like that. sure he is looking for a personality but not to be a special individual but to connect with other people.

I always thought of Kabuto as the 3rd main character in Naruto. He is just as important to the main story as Naruto and Sasuke. He's also arguably the 3rd most powerful living ninja by the end of the series.

12:50 The obvious reason is that Danzo didn't exist yet, and Kishimoto didn't bother trying to retcon this for their backstory for Shippuden.
My theory about Danzo not noticing, is that he truly wasn’t at the chunin exams- he had sent Orochimaru there to observe in his stead, probably unaware of Orochimaru’s plans. Thus, Kabuto would’ve remained in Danzo’s “blind spot” during the chunin exams.
