His lyrics may seem easy, but Paul McCartney's genius is being able to convey an entire scene or mood in a few simple lines. Think of Eleanor Rigby, just a few short verses, but it's one of the saddest songs I've ever heard.

You can see that even to this day seeing people singing the songs he helped create brings joy to him, he wrote them to bring people together, and 60+ years later they are still doing exactly that
