To have Vulcan Havoc Cyclops Cable Nate Grey Stryfe and Madelyn Pryor Hope Summers and Jean Grey who is the fucking Phoenix! all in the same place is not even conceivable
This was one of my favorite stories when I was collecting the X-titles. The introduction of Cable and all his supporting characters from his time including Stryfe was just awesome. I had always hoped to see a high quality animated series depicting this time in the X-Men comics. I've always wanted to get figures from this era too. Would love to see a line of figures inspired by Jim Lee's amazing artwork.
Because they don't own the movie rights to mutants. They can't even say mutants in the MCU. Since Disney now owns Marvel then their ultimate goal is the bolster the cinematic universe. They big whigs upstairs could give two shits about the comics beyond what they provide for the movies, video games and other media.
I think DC is more over powered it's like normal man or Godly. Marvel has a lot more in between those two. Fuck even Batman is possibly the most OP superhero and he doesn't even have any powers!
Rob you don't know how much this video NEEDED to be made!!! For the longest you would always mention how everyone wanted Cable because he was so ridiculously POWERFUL, yet when you spoke about him and his what he did compared to other mutants Cable always seemed simple. Now we see that without diverting his energy to stopping the virus, what a fully powered Cable can do.
I always liked Stryfe & his costume. He's very imposing & looks somewhat like a Roman warlord. I like Marvel because they tend to give their more powerful characters capes, unlike DC, which for a time tried to give every character a cape. Given his tremendous psi-powers, Stryfe could afford to wear this costume (always liked him w/o the helmet though). Mobility isn't an issue for him, since he could fly thru telekinesis. I never understood how anything can be "beyond omega level", when omega level mutants are suppose to have no power limitations.
I would have thought omega is planetary level, anywho most DC characters that have caps are pretty powerful as it goes, sups MMH, shazam, the bat characters are really the only ones that aren't, also thanos doesn't wear one nor does apocalypse or galacus?, also storm and moonnight have capes just sayin
K- GURUNG That stuff about controlling atoms is I believe speculation because that is practically the same power as Owen Reese, and Stryfe ain't no Owen Reese or he would never lose. Magneto is also practically a god in his own right being able to control magnetism now. As for that stuff about being able to pass through Magneto's helmet I'm not so sure of. I don't know if Magneto's helm was ever passed through by anyone but I think Magneto was able to resist Red Onslaught in Axis so that is a reference point. However Axis was so stupid that it could hardly be used to judge this.
***** I would agree with you when Magneto could only control metal but nowadays magnetism=whatever the writer wants. Especially ultimate Magneto who can literally break the earth
+ThatAnimeSnob that's the thing about magnetism. It's not really a thing. It's electro magnetism, which is practically everything in the universe, matter is simple electro magnetic force in a different state. Magneto by all rights should be omega, in theory he could unravel the foundational building block of the universe
Hey Rob your right that Stryfe took on all of the heroes and Apocalypse. But remember, Apocalypse was severely weakened. What I found very very interesting though, was when Apocalypse was at full strength and Stryfe was easily defeated. Which I thought spoke volumes on how powerful Apocalypse is.
Stryfe is such a boss. The problem is Marvel can't really use Stryfe and Apocalypse at there fullest because they can't let the bad guys win. They only let Doctor Doom off the leash every once in awhile, but they recently let him defeat Thanos of all characters, so it's clear they play favorites as far as villains go.
You should add alittle more character analysis into your vids. What do you know about Stryfe mind set, do you like the character and that kind of thing.
I was thinking the same thing throughout the video. Similar to how Michael Myers is a badass because he simply walks and never runs, a serious, powerful, badass mutant should wear something simple, and mobile. I wasn't really a fan of Watchmen, but I did love the character design of Dr. Manhattan for that point.
When you have Omega level telekinesis, able to move anything with your mind, even yourself, or objects to yourself, does flexibility in a costume really matter that much? But if you want to wear something scary and menacing to strike fear in people looking at you, now THAT's a win! Even better if they underestimate someone who would wear such a thing, only to find out how wrong they are when they get their heads crushed by a thought. Also, Stryfe's outfit was made from future tech 2,000+ years in the future, so who knows, it could be more flexible than the best skin-tight outfit of modern day Earth.
There needs to be a story, an event even: Stryfe vs Franklin Richards. That way you bring back both the Richards family and mutants back to the main landscape
X-cutioners song was my favorite X-men story that I got to experience in real time when I was growing up...I think i was in high school when it came out...
I really enjoyed him as a villain. Thought they did pretty neat things with the character. Granted it's up the ante type stuff where suddenly the only people to show up are over 9,000 but still given the intricate nature of the summers family it seemed to fit
Hey Rob, thanks for all these videos! Love your channel. At some point down the line, can you do a series on Whedon's Astonishing X-Men? Good stories need to be spread to as many people as possible, and you sir are a master.
Loved this video! And the whole series it’s so good to see the real x-men being explained and some appreciation of the stories the writers made. 21st century fox nearly killed this franchise by not understanding the source material I hope Disney does these comics some justice
Growing up and reading comics in the early 90's ... A few friends and I always wanted to believe that Cable was the clone and Stryfe was the original. It wasn't until way later on when Marvel finally came out with the Origin stories, they ruined our hopes and dreams :D
I really hope when casting Cable in Deadpool 2, they take account the actor will be playing Stryfe in (please, please, please, etc., et al.) a Cable/Six Pack/X-Force movie
Actually, Professor X might be an Omega level telepath, at least potentially. Xavier's telepathy used to be global range, but when in space he was able to reach far beyond Earth, into deep space, to other planets, and even galaxies (I think this was how he initially contacted Lilandra of the Shi'ar Empire). At some point, Magneto altered the Earth's electromagnetic field to hamper, if not outright nullify, Xavier's powers. Xavier wound up being so powerful that he could still use his telepathy, but with reduced effect and range (250 miles), a reason why he needed enhancements like Cerebro and Cerebra.
Xavier initially was able to make a connection to the Shi'ar after brief exposure with an alien mind (The N'Garai). In essence it gave him a boost, but not one he could consciously control or access, hence why his first contact with Lilandra came from vivid dreams. Xavier has always used Cerebro to amplify his powers, since the Original Series. The upper limit of his default power was shown during the Z'Nox invasion, when he was able to not only link every mind on the planet but actively discount those such as surgeons and pilots who could not afford distraction. He cannot make interplanetary or galactic contact without amplification and this has never been otherwise. Only Jean Grey demonstrated that ability via Cyclops during the Dark Phoenix Saga. Even that was only person to person contact, from the Psychic Link they shared. Aside from co-creating Onslaught, Magneto's powers do not adversely affect Xavier's in any way. The opposite has been proven to be the case on several occasions.
De'lahn Day Yes and Cerebro (plus Cerebra, later) push his abilities beyond that. In one on one fights Xavier has been able to defeat more powerful psychic foes by his skill and cunning, such as Shadow King, Dark Phoenix etc It's a shame this aspect of Xavier was played down so much after the 80's.
pious83 Magneto's powers do not affect Xavier's powers directly, but through altering an aspect of the Earth itself. I posted this because it is canon information, and you can find it easily enough.
stryfe didnt take on apocalypse and the x-force, by himself,, hes was winning against Cable and x force and lost as soon as apocalypse got in.,..favorite line in the comic...Stryfe apologizing to apocalypse saying" im sorry father" and then apocalypse smashing him to the ground sayin" I'M NOT YOUR FATHER, I'M YOUR EXECUTIONER" LMAO
his costume, its like he tries too hard to have people know that hes a badass..... with the spikes and stuff, and his helmet too.... oh god.... his helmet.....
Yeah this timeline was odd but I believe this was before Apocalypse's rise to power and took over the world, then was defeated but vanished while Stryfe stepped up trying to take over. This event took place supposedly before all that and this Stryfe is long after Mutant Liberation Front, X-Cutioner's Song, Legacy Virus, Fathers And Sons but of course before the Messiah War. Oh and Stryfe never fought Apocalypse and all of X-Force at the same time, Stryfe did beat down Bishop, Cable and X-Force but when Apocalypse with Archangel. Apocalypse easily beat the ever loving crap outta Stryfe by himself then when it was over took Stryfe to be is new host. Those Stryfe escaped Apocalypse vowed to not repeat what his future self would do, but that future still happened as it originally did.
I always thought the Cable/Stryfe storyline was really cool. Cable is kinda like Deadpool in that they both started out really generic and turned into some of the best characters in Marvel comics. I read New Mutants and X-Force to find out more about Cable.
Strangely enough Stryfe shares one of Cable's few weaknesses, Sympathy for Deadpool. Granted Stryfe's version spent nearly a millennia alone in a shipping container and is notably crazier.
why didn't apocalypse body jump into styfe when he was sent into the future? or infect him with the technovirus? I have a suggestion for a video if you haven't done it already. basically retcons, the best, the worst, the most famous etc.
Wait, so hes an Omega level telepath right.. I saw fucking Deadpool in there. Last person to read his mind didnt end up doing too well. .. DEADPOOL SAVES THE MARVEL UNIVERSE!!! Also Rob, Moon Knight, do the things please.
marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Clan_Chosen_(Earth-4935) Maybe im wrong but around 3:00 you mixed the titles New Cannanites (Stryfe's group) and Clan Chosen (Cable's group). Anyway, keep up the great stuff! Please do more Cable! Cable, Deadpool, Stryfe, Xmen, Bishop and Gambit vs Cable,, Whatever!!
man I can't imagine how the Summers' family gatherings must be!
What venue could hold all of them?!
Kinda like Uchiha family reunions
To have Vulcan Havoc Cyclops Cable Nate Grey Stryfe and Madelyn Pryor Hope Summers and Jean Grey who is the fucking Phoenix! all in the same place is not even conceivable
@@shinigamidaio23And also Rachel Summers! Like damn

And marvel wants to replace the mutants with the inhumans why? Man the X-men series is so much better
give it a chance
They are only doing it so people accept it when they appear in the films
Because they can't use mutants in MCU because FOX won't give them back. It's the same reason the Fantastic Four ended.
Because they don't own the movie rights to mutants. They can't even say mutants in the MCU. Since Disney now owns Marvel then their ultimate goal is the bolster the cinematic universe. They big whigs upstairs could give two shits about the comics beyond what they provide for the movies, video games and other media.
Mr wookie
You're being reasonable and nothing against you, but no.
Man, I remember when X Executioners song came out. It was the first major event that I got all the comics as they came out.
ChaseNCSU I still HAVE all the comics they released for it...
geoffrey cannon you still have the cards? I seen all of them in a comic shop a week ago.
that was a good series back in the day!
Whaat, the costumes in the 90s were the best! you must be a young buck.
Marvel has some seriously OP characters
I think DC is more over powered it's like normal man or Godly. Marvel has a lot more in between those two. Fuck even Batman is possibly the most OP superhero and he doesn't even have any powers!
+Li Sp V that's not even true, their is bigger planet-multiverse ending character to street level character ratio in marvel.
I think both comics are equally overpowered, flash, superman, martian manhunter, Nate gray, franklin Richards, hulk
DC does not have more over powerful characters, it's a common misconception to believe due to superman JL over overexposure.
+LarryBonson bruh DC most definitely has some op character's
Rob you don't know how much this video NEEDED to be made!!! For the longest you would always mention how everyone wanted Cable because he was so ridiculously POWERFUL, yet when you spoke about him and his what he did compared to other mutants Cable always seemed simple. X men can stand on it's own. Damn creative characters.
I've always loved stryes armor
Same.
I always liked Stryfe & his costume. He's very imposing & looks somewhat like a Roman warlord. I like Marvel because they tend to give their more powerful characters capes, unlike DC, which for a time tried to give every character a cape.

I always called him metal Batman
Just get Magneto to wear his helmet and use that fancy suit against him lol. Also I love that sick 90's X-men art.
didn,t you watched the vedio he can control matter by his mind so he can do much more the magneto.
and he is omega level muntant so his helmet is useless.
K- GURUNG

I think of all of the summers children, Nate Grey or X-man is the more under used.
first time I ever heard of Xmen or anything a friend had a Hasbro Stryfe action figure...coolest thing I'd ever seen..
Bishop's true mutant power: the inability to do any damn thing right given an infinite number of alternative time lines.
Hes such a 90's character. Im a fan...if memory serves me correctly, Rob, Stryfe is as powerful as X-Man...?
Not these days anyway
stryfe is out here looking like sauron from lotr lmao
Stryfe is such a boss. The problem is Marvel can't really use Stryfe and Apocalypse at there fullest because they can't let the bad guys win. They only let Doctor Doom off the leash every once in awhile, but they recently let him defeat Thanos of all characters, so it's clear they play favorites as far as villains go.
so stryfe and cable have the same amount of money in the bank but cable doesnt have a bank card?
The Question then becomes, Who would win in a fight? Thanos VS Stryfe?
thanos is a PUSSY this has been proven time and time again
Strife 8/10
+PureVikingPowers you're crazy
thanos shitcan's multiple stryfe's come on man
Imo it's Thanos. I don't see Stryfe beating Thanos.
Thanks very much for this video, I've been asking for it for a long time
You should add alittle more character analysis into your vids. What do you know about Stryfe mind set, do you like the character and that kind of thing.
Jeffrey McConnell his videos would be half hour if he started adding his opinions to each segment.
Thank you so much. One of my favorite characters growing up. X-Force had the best story arcs. Cannonball my all time fave :)
I've just recently found this channel and I must say kudos for the great work!
Aaaah the 90s. They never cease to confuse me :D
Love the outro dude. Love the vids. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Rob, I learned some new shit today.
I know Costumes were awful in the 90's, but damn, Stryfe's takes the cake
I was thinking the same thing throughout the video.

I think his costume is bad ass and needs to be grand because of who he is and what he can do
And you get to be Omega Level, and you get to be Omega Level, and you get to be Omega Level..............
thank you very much for doing
X-Men stories, especially the one's from the 90s.
There needs to be a story, an event even: Stryfe vs Franklin Richards. That way you bring back both the Richards family and mutants back to the main landscape
X-cutioners song was my favorite X-men story that I got to experience in real time when I was growing up...I think i was in high school when it came out...
Oh god I miss the 1990s comics the executioners song was one of my favs
Hey Rob I've been meaning to ask you this question forever. Who would win: Stryfe vs Nate Grey?
Didn't Cable lead The Clan Chosen and Stryfe lead the New Canaanites? Just a little error there, I think. Otherwise, I love your vids, man!
i can't be the only one who thinks his armour is cool
Great video. Executioner's Song was one of the best.
I really enjoyed him as a villain. Thought they did pretty neat things with the character. Granted it's up the ante type stuff where suddenly the only people to show up are over 9,000 but still given the intricate nature of the summers family it seemed to fit
*Stryfe:* "I want to be...just, the pointiest villain in history."
Love the commentary on this video. Keep it up!
Executioner song was my 1st comic story i read been hooked ever since
I've never heard of him , learnt a lot , great video.
Woah! I refreshed the page and this came up. I'm so excited, especially to be the first
Hey Rob, thanks for all these videos! Love your channel. At some point down the line, can you do a series on Whedon's Astonishing X-Men? Good stories need to be spread to as many people as possible, and you sir are a master.
Late to the party but you had one detail backwards. Cable was part of the Clan Chosen, Stryfe the New Canaanites.
WE WERE WAITING FOR THIS ONE
great video Rob, but can you please do a video on Alpha Flight, thanks again fam.
Dont Worry True indeed bro.
Loved this video! And the whole series it’s so good to see the real x-men being explained and some appreciation of the stories the writers made. 21st century fox nearly killed this franchise by not understanding the source material I hope Disney does these comics some justice
Bruh....put the music in the description. You always have dope tracks
Growing up and reading comics in the early 90's ... A few friends and I always wanted to believe that Cable was the clone and Stryfe was the original.
It wasn't until way later on when Marvel finally came out with the Origin stories, they ruined our hopes and dreams :D
Sometimes you paint yourself into a corner when a character is too powerful. Who can defeat them? It makes it too easy for them.
Great vids, thanks for this one especially
I really hope when casting Cable in Deadpool 2, they take account the actor will be playing Stryfe in (please, please, please, etc., et al.) a Cable/Six Pack/X-Force movie
thanks for STRYFE EXPLAINED Rob. Will you do a video of Marvel's androids featuring Zero?

Nobody
Absolutely nobody
Stryfe: MORE SPIKEZ
Man bishop wearing that Mini Ladd merch
Nothing says we haven't got any more ideas than using time travel and super powerful mcguffin that can destroy the whole universe.
stryfe didnt take on apocalypse and the x-force, by himself,, hes was winning against Cable and x force and lost as soon as apocalypse got in.,..favorite line in the comic...Stryfe apologizing to apocalypse saying" im sorry father" and then apocalypse smashing him to the ground sayin" I'M NOT YOUR FATHER, I'M YOUR EXECUTIONER" LMAO
nice one Rob. Great recap.
Love this series of videos!
Well no way homes gonna come out and mutants possibly will enter the mcu so I'm going back, thank you Rob!!!!
Dude rob you need to start making videos about the MCU movies!!!
That costume is the 90s of comic books in a nutshell
his costume, its like he tries too hard to have people know that hes a badass..... with the spikes and stuff, and his helmet too.... oh god.... his helmet.....

there will be a point where when you use to much power. you will soon end yourself do to the power you seem to crave
I always thought the Cable/Stryfe storyline was really cool. Cable is kinda like Deadpool in that they both started out really generic and turned into some of the best characters in Marvel comics. I read New Mutants and X-Force to find out more about Cable.

TheTalentedMoron that sounds fucking awesome
At 4:10 it looks like Jean's hair is flying off
What's the song used in this video?
i want better x men stories in ANAD
You are not the only one asking for that
+KRYMauL i know "the mutants are going extinct"... never heard that one before
You got it mixed up... Cable created Clan Chosen, Stryfe was responsible for the New Caananites.
Strife started the new Canaanites and cable started the clan chosen
why didn't apocalypse body jump into styfe when he was sent into the future? or infect him with the technovirus?
I have a suggestion for a video if you haven't done it already. basically retcons, the best, the worst, the most famous etc.
Then Archangel brings Apocalypse to the battle and game over. Apoc wipes the floor with Stryfe.
Please do an update vid on stryfe
We have three versions of the same person running around. Im exhausted
Mr De Lioncourt Deadpool saves or kills the marvel u is not canon and counts for Nothin. Those feats don't apply.
Mad Jim Jaspers and Franklin Richards you said they and Scarlett Which can manipulate reality didnt you?
cool video! what's the name of the song at the end?
The Xternals Cable Strife time travel Phoenix force X-Men had so much potential it could have rivaled infinity wars.
Good music at the end
Stryfe is like Onslaught in a virus free Cable's body.lol
Can you do a video if Cable lets the techno organic virus take over his body
marvel.wikia.com/wiki/Clan_Chosen_(Earth-4935)
Maybe im wrong but around 3:00 you mixed the titles New Cannanites (Stryfe's group) and Clan Chosen (Cable's group). Anyway, keep up the great stuff! Please do more Cable! Cable, Deadpool, Stryfe, Xmen, Bishop and Gambit vs Cable,, Whatever!!
Can Sryfe 1v1 NAte Grey (X-Man) ? That dude literally just left the universe for another one....OP
he's too bloody overpowered
Still waiting for that video about Joker copyrighting fish
PLEASE tell me which artist's art this is ! It looks like Greg Capullo's but i'm sure it isn't
Stryfe just tear Apocalyse like a doll. Just read the Executioner Saga and assess his skill, power and intelligence.
dude they need to revamp this guy he has potential to be a very epic villain for the universe.
The guy who play Ivan Drago son in creed 2 should've played cable
This is amazing
You have it backwards: Cable formed and led the Clan Chosen and Stryfe led the New Canaanites.
Stryfe sounds like an absolute badass
