- In this episode we explore an abandoned house that was abandoned in the early 2000s. It was once owned by a police officer. We found a gun and a Police car!

That's about a 2004 Vic. Mine was silver unmarked. I'm long since retired. What I don't understand is why a PD would just leave that car there. If it were in bad shape, they should have put it up for public auction. I worked for 3 departments throughout my career, and I can't imagine any of those agencies just leaving a cruiser to rust away like that. No matter what shape the car was in.
That's what I thought to. Unless maybe he bought them from a auction? Sometimes small towns put them up for sealed bid. Just a hunch.

03 or 04 based on the rim style and lone hubcap. 03-05 looked basically the same but the 05s had an external antenna. The black Vic almost looks like a LX Sport [predecessor to the Mercury Maurauder] based on the rims and sunken air suspension.
@@smallcircles8744 Came here to say this same thing. I saw the 2000/01 calendars then the cars and knew it had to be later than 03 since it was vacant. I have owned 3 Marauders and elevendythree hundred crown vics. I actually bought and sold to smaller police departments. So that was an easy tell for me.
The Father and son was killed in a car accident and the ex-wife didn't want anything inside
I knew the family that lived there. They all lost there life's in the late 90s due to a tragic car accident it was a father and his son. The ex wife wanted nothing to do with the home or what was inside

Maybe he had a couple of young cats when he passed and they died not long after that. The one with all the sports posters and the spelling bee award was probably a young teenager's room. Definitely a lot of self-love going on in that room! Really cool video! Thanks! You guys are a lot of fun!

Yes it's possible that when the family left or whatever happened that noone could retrieve the animals. Cats tend to hide. Especially in a place full of mess likes this.
That room almost looks like a shrine to a teenager that passed away. Why I think it looked untouched from sometime in the late 80's.
Maybe late 90s as there was a Reggie Lewis, basketball player Boston Celtic's newspaper clipping of his tragic passing in 1993.
I wonder what happened to this person or family? It’s like they just walked out and left EVERYTHING behind! How is it that all these things have not been stolen? Especially the gun!? This is an awesome video! Maybe you could research and find out what happened? That would be amazing! Maybe the officer died and had no family left? It’s like they never took one thing with him/them. Ashamed someone’s life/memories is just simply…abandoned.

When I watch these videos I wonder if this will happen when I die.We were not able to have children and I only have one close relative. All you people without kids need to remember to have a plan in place when you go. If I outlive everyone and there's no plan in place, this could happen to me and my house. Make friends and be kind while you're around to do it.
Remember that one of the reasons you find abandoned houses in the US are the property taxes. "Interestingly, property taxes are the largest source of revenue for state and local governments in the USA. Property taxes are charged based on the value of your property and currently, the median property tax rate falls between 0.2-1.9%." - sometimes they are too high for the owner or people just deem it not worth it anymore. Not making a judgement on taxes - just a reason amongst many as well as the poor state of repair of a place :(

Father and son killed in a car wreck
In the son's bedroom. The hoodie is of Miami Dolphins. The stuff dog on the bed is I believe Pound Puppy. The parents bedroom. They are simply call shotgun shells. The rifle looks to be.22 . The tank to be a remote control scale model. Outside the Police Car had all the Police department seals, numbers and ID's removed. Most likely it was brought at a Police auction.
I can solve the lottery ticket mystery. The reason that people have stacks of lottery tickets is: years ago late 90's up to mid 2017 or so you could write off your wins against your losses on state taxes, most states stopped it bc it was EASY to get around it. So gamblers would save them for each other or Use them themselves if they happen to win.

That police Marauder is newer than 2002. There is no way those cars and that yard weren't overgrown more in 20+ years.
At least between 2008 to 2013…2013 was the last production of the crown Vic and the body style didn’t change much between those dates.
The marked unit is an 03 or 04 based on the rim type and one hubcap. Only 2003-2005 had those and the 2005 model years had an external antenna. The black Vic almost looks like an LX Sport based on the rims and sunken air suspension. The LX Sport shifted in 2003 to being the Mercury Marauder instead of the LX Sport [and Grand Marquis LSE] with the floor shifter and other added features.
Late 2011 was the last year in America for the Crown Vic.2012 for the mid East .Maurada 03-04 only rare car!@@corpsatm00

That gun looked like a .22 pump action; the ejector port and ammo tube looked too small for shot shells. They must've had a .410 shotgun as well, saw one of the shells on the suitcase.

I think its funny that these kids don't know what things are.. The empty shells he was saving to reload, the old shot gun looks like an old .410 gauge pump action likely nonfunctioning and is in dire need of restoration (I wish I knew the make and model). Most of those old tv's are pre-1980's. So much of that house reminds me of my childhood, I had the same posters and naughty magazines as well, I had the same issues of Playboys that was in the child's room. I get the vibe that the kids room was setup as if he pasted away, same for the officer's room too. I can tell the officer was likely retired based on the age of the Items in his room (the LEO gear found) . This was a good find though. I love watching these abandoned houses videos...
Well, most kids today have never seen a gun in person. Also, if I was walking through a house abandoned for 20
years when I was 20, I bet I wouldn't know what some things were. Technology has accelerated so fast in the last 20 years. In 2000 we were still mostly doing things the same as my parents were in the 80's. In 2005 it was almost another world!
My grandpa was a police officer for atleast 30 years that I know of and I remember him saving the shells and to reload . I’m 49 now and when I was a small kid I remember him having the gun powder and the setup for doing the bullets that packed them together. We weren’t aloud in that area in the basement but curiosity took over so then my grandpa explained it to us and we just knew not to mess around there. The badge should have been returned to the police department and if he had retired it would have had retired engraved on the badge but if he and his son passed away then maybe they don’t know it’s there and law enforcement should be notified and also told about the gun for safety issues as for the cats maybe they died there if no one ever came back to the house. They seemed to have a lot of stuff for the cats even cat food in the man’s room.

That rifle is a Winchester .22 and if all original worth a chunk. He must have been really depressed to be living like that. Forget the cop car look at the old Autocar truck sitting there.
Great video really enjoyed it. Sad to see places like this abandoned and the families posessions all left behinde. By the way I believe the stuffed dog on the bed was a pound puppy from the 1980s.

The ex wife was, since she abandoned it. The patriarch and his son died in a horrible cat accident.

Guy donated two vintage cop cars to a friend. One is a '74 Plymouth Gran Fury, the othe an '89 Gran Fury. I was given the '89...
The police cars were probably purchased by the owner as surplus vehicle. Police departments auction off their older cars and cops like to snatch them up.
Just a theory, but a very plausible one.
I don't think they'd leave the police decals on it though.
I had that same teddy bear on the bed when I was a kid.

It's a shame that people that break in feel the need to trash the place there's no respect for other people property... But im surprised that the police department didn't auction everything off to support the police department that man worked for.. after all it's obvious that none of the family don't want anything to do with his stuff

The police crown vic is an 03/04 for certain and the black one is an LX crown vic civilian around the same year

It's a shame to see homes like this with all the family's things left behind. I'm surprised there was not more vandalism/destruction from trespassers, though there wasn't any graffiti, some of the stuff just thrown around or thrown on the floor makes me think some homeless people might have tried to stay in it or young people went in it looking for a place to hang out and just dug through every thing. From the look of the room with the rolls of insulation and the plastic sheeting, I would guess there was a pipe burst or a water leak from the second floor. It could be they were staying somewhere else while the work was being done and something happened to them so they couldn't return to get their things.
Probably a very small town far from major cities

That phone is call ed a candle stick phone and its not broken it has a separate ringer box, these were either direct line meaning no rotary dial or they had a dial this one in proticular would have been a reproduction the original ones were black with metal stick and base and a bakelite hand set with cloth cords. made back in the early 1920's.

At 35:05 I notice a Ford Crown Victoria LX Sport, Those are “collectable” because of there Floor Shifter instead of the standard column shifter.
