  • Is the Snoo bassinet worth it? What do you need to know before considering? Should you rent or buy? It's all in our 2020 Snoo review.
    There are a lot of questions out there about the Snoo, a $1,300 robotic bassinet from Happiest Baby. Why? Well, for one thing, it's just quite different from anything else out there. It's a robotic bassinet ... which sounds, well, weird. For another thing, it's quite expensive. And, it's just a different way of thinking about baby sleep.
    So, in our Snoo review, we cover:
    - Setting up the Snoo
    - How does it work?
    - Is the Snoo worth it? Does it actually calm your baby and get your baby (and you the hours more sleep Happiest Baby claims it does?
    - Is Snoo really the safest baby bed ever made? And, if so, why?
    - What about Snoo Sacks-the Snoo’s swaddle?
    - The Snoo's rental program-should you consider renting, or buying?
    A couple of things to note:
    1) there's a lot going on with the Snoo. We couldn't cover it all in our video, but we went into a ton of detail in our written review: fathercraft.com/snoo/
    2) We tested the Snoo for 30 days with Fathercraft Partner Paul's newborn daughter Ruby, but we also wanted to make sure we got the complete picture of what different parents thought about Snoo, so we've since tested Snoo with 3 additional couples. Their thoughts are incorporated into the video and our written review.

    how bad is the U.S. inflation right now??? Only one year later, the SNOO is already $1,579, $300 more expensive than what he said. Plus, we have to pay tax, so the SNOO in Oct, 2021, cost me $1,700+. Waiting for the long shipping now--obviously the supply chain is a problem too. Really hope it will worth it.

    Wow love your written review, we started with the rental program and decided to buy it after the first night using the snoo. It really is a very well thought out product if money is not an issue. Also you can get a military discount that’s a 40% off savings if you have a family member who is serving or served just letting you know, I think Black Friday sale last year also had a pretty good sale price if I remembered correctly. The only down side for me is that I cannot use the Nanit breathe wear/ band with the snoo swaddle :( now I am stuck with 3 bands and subscription wasted until my 6 weeks old turns 6 months lol

      Thanks so much for the thoughts! Yeah they definitely have some good sales from time to time, worth checking out. It is a bummer on Nanit Breathing Wear, though that should be helpful well after 6 months at least! All the best with your little one!
      Paul

    Hi. Babies need to eat approx every 3 hours. Do you wake baby up for this? If the baby wakes up but gets put to sleep does that mean it wssnt that hungry? Just a little confused about feeding times with the snoo.

    • @Fathercraft
      @Fathercraft  3 года назад

      From what we’ve learned if the baby is hungry she is not going to fall back asleep. Around month four, typically most babies can self soothe (or be soothed) back to sleep.

    Snoo guilt is some what real but you get over it because you are getting good sleep. It's hard to make the purchase but once you have the baby and getting no sleep it makes it easier. Then when you finally get the snoo you think why didn't I get this sooner.

    • @Fathercraft
      @Fathercraft  4 года назад

      Great point. It’s hard to put a price on good sleep.

    There are other motion bassinets. Do you plan on reviewing any of those like the Mamaroo bassinet or the Graco Sense2Snooze bassinet? I would love to know if those are a viable alternative to the snoo since they are more reasonably priced.

      Hello - thanks for the comment. Check out our review of the Mamaroo on our site fathercraft.com/4moms-mamaroo-review/

      I think the previous comment was regarding the new mamaroo sleep bassinet :)

    • @Fathercraft
      @Fathercraft  4 года назад +4

      @@richmeezy good catch, thanks! Those are definitely in our review queue, though we're pretty backlogged at the moment. One BIG thing to note about. both of them: neither allows you to clip the baby's sleep sack to the sides of the bassinet to prevent roll overs, which in our mind is a big selling point of the Snoo as it helps keep babies in that very important "back to sleep" position.

    Can you do a comparison video with the 4moms bassinet!?!? For those of us that would rather spend 350$ instead of 1200$ haha

      Hey Ivan, good idea, added it to our list! I will say 4moms is really not in the same category as Snoo. Movement: yes, but the Snoo's tech that keeps your baby on her back is really in its own category in our opinion ...

    • @xiiivaniix
      @xiiivaniix 3 года назад +1

      @@Fathercraft oh thank you! That’s a good point. I already bought the 4moms since the pediatrician didn’t recommend that much restriction for the baby. Thank you!

      It will work except it won’t be able to monitor breathing if the Snoo is moving.

    The major CON is they act like they for enviroment but they refuse to sell parts like motors that are known to fail, so if out of warranty from used or second baby and stops your out of luck

  • @epicgnar

    This thing is one of the greatest modern inventions in existence. Honestly. But! YOU NEED TO START FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. I justified it by this: How valuable is your and your partner's sleep? Would you buy a fantastic bed for $800-$1300? Look for sales around holidays. My child is 12 weeks and sleeps 15 hours a day and only wakes once a night. We'll see if that lasts...

      I was going to pay more than this for 4 months of night nanny care-buying it once if it works is worth it even if we used it for less than 6 months.

    "Get over it"? Sure, lets let more stupid, unnecessary technology raise our children, cell phones and tablets aren't bad enough. A baby attached to a Wi-Fi system which we already know damages the body at the cellular level, HARD PASS. If you become a parent, BE a parent, rock your child yourself. When babies cry it's because they want to be comforted and I don't think they want to be comforted by a robot.
