The 963 will easily carry you through the early levels, has just about every addon, and its extremely easy to get, in a region that is easy to navigate no less. ZikZ is a powerhouse, but it comes with the catch of limited addons and rather ironically needing something like its bigger brother or the 963 to get if you want to get it early.
One thing I noticed is that the Kenworth has MSH III tires. But it is generally agreed upon that MSH II is the best tire option for it. Because mud and snow are the most difficult obstacles for all trucks in this game. (And of course in the game files mud and snow are regarded as the same substance more or less) That's why the highest mud rating is the most important.
Good video. The 963 is obviously a little better. The 605r has fallen out of meta a little. It reminds me of the Tayga. The Tayga vehicles are still good, and the 605r is still great. But the 605r replaced the Tayga and the 612H replaced the 605r. The 612H has better pulling power (it actually weighs enough) and traction, slightly better range, more add-ons, and chained tires for when you really need it. The only thing the 605r has on the 612H is unladen off-road capability. When laden, the 605r is only slightly better off-road. Unless there is really deep mud, The Derry 15C-177 is more is more useful. It has better traction, better fuel consumption, more power and much better hill climbing capabilities. The only vehicle comparable to the Kenworth 963 is the Zikz 612H Mastodon.
I swear some of these RUclipsrs don't know the existence of the spreadsheet, how can you be giving us tips and tricks yet you don't even know about probably the most important tool for Snowrunner, the spreadsheet
@@Drakey_FenixJAT MSH II has same ratings as MSH II. 0.8 road, 1.7 offroad, 3.2 mud. Zikz 605r tires has unique 3.0 mud, ziks 612h has unique 3.4 mud.
Awesome! I love these videos. It's interesting how I ended up settling on the Kenworth before watching your videos, as someone who is new to the game. It's a great truck!
This test is innacurate, you didn't put the best rated tyres on the Kenworth, you put the MHS III tyres which are good but not as good as MSH II tyres, MHS III has a mud rating of 2, while MSH II tyres have a mud rating of 3.2, please redo this test with the MSH II tyres on the Kenworth
It might have won the tests, but don’t let yourself be fooled! Out in the field it’s very different. I tried the ken out in the Don region and it sucked compared to the Zikz... it is good in less forgiving regions though, however the Zikz is still the king👑
my only problem with the kenworth is the axle hitbox its not super bad but still noticeable when driving over rocks and the second is the inconsistent torque of the kenworth
Why dont you use high gear when you start to lose speed instead of dropping to low+. Same for when trucks are in auto and they are about to drop to 1st gear, then jump to high gear nd then low+ if need be
About halfway thru you failed to understand why the ziks does better even tho it actually has a lower chasis it has 8 beefy wheels that have some of the best mud grip in game ken has only 6 tires big yes but they also have drastically lower mud grip and with its lack of a s engine it actually does amazing next to the ziks image if it had the same tires or a better engine it would actually take spot as king
On console the ZikZ is much better because you can mod it. This is not possible with Kenworth or Caterpillar etc. because these companies think they are too good. 😊
@@mikeenslin3009nah ken's vanilla engines are not enough. In this game american trucks has some issues always like underpowered engine and high fuel consuption. In game they made that US gearboxes consume more and transfer less power but russian trucks have better engines and better gearboxes
Also the Kenworth’s fuel efficiency is highly dependent on whether you have AWD on or off. Under heavy load and AWD on I have seen well over 30L/min with a load in the back and over 40L/min when towing a loaded 8 slot, but it’s fuel economy is way better without AWD.
I have gone back to try to make more progress on the Amur region and I have put both the ZikZ 605-R and the Kenworth 963 together and they both really make a great duo to get the jobs done in the extremely rough snowy, icy, and rocky terrains of the Amur region.

Big consideration is the fact ZikZ has a shorter wheelbase. Meaning it can fit in tighter spaces. Has extra axle

There's a reason why devs put this truck in a hard place to get.
Tests like these is irrelevant if both trucks complete a test, a few seconds is nothing, both of these trucks deserve a place in anyone's fleet.
my only problem with the kenworth is the axle hitbox its not super bad but still noticeable when driving over rocks and the second is the inconsistent torque of the kenworth
doesnt matter anyways. Every truck has a winch so by default there is not best truck.
The kenworth is climbing in the rain on a wet hill while the Ziks is climbing on a dry hill.
In this game it doesn't make any difference, ground remains the same.
@@Danko05 the ground literally gets slipperier in the rain.
I have done basic research and rain does not affect slipperiness of ground.
They need to give the 963 a buff if it turned better and a little faster it be a really good truck

Can’t wait for someone to mod the 963
gross
JTT has done it. I use all of his mods because he is not making overpowered mods. Just a few changes which makes trucks what they have to be.
Zikz=tortoise Kenworth=hare
In my opinion the Ziks 612a is the best in the game
The most overpowered truck in this game is the winch

But even in the fuel economy test, you left the awd on the Kenny, which eats fuel faster.
That's the point of the test
The advanced special gearboxes doesn't take any more fuel with AWD on or off
@Gracefulwarrior2124 ah thanks!
ugh worst part of the alaska map lol i hate that part

for me it is a draw
you noob! zizk winner to all road!
The Kenworth’s axle has a low hit box like the Mack Defense, you just don’t notice it as much because it has much more ground clearance.

If you want to use AWD all the time use the Advanced Special gearbox, it doesn't have AWD consumption multiplier.
