Need to do both deadpool moives
You skipped the wolverine
You should watch the 1986 transformers movie, in my opinion is really good
Dude you skiped the wolverine movie, the profesor comes back at the end o that one, hes alive because in the last stand he transfer his concius to his twin brother who was in a coma, thats the body that appears through the gole entire movie that speaks at the end
Jeremy nailed the BTS. Super dope.
Maybe do the Wolverine movies as a trilogy, starting with Origins, then The Wolverine, and ending with Logan.
They should not do origins may as well stare at thier dogs poo for 2hrs.
@@andokomando 1😂
That's what he said he would do after watching the X-men series.
Such a weird trilogy. The first one was a weird mess of a prequel, the second was a fun action popcorn movie in japan, and the third was an R rated western style drama in a dark world where all the xmen were dead.
@@ArkNova24 Wrote it before seeing the whole thing. 😅
Matt: "This movie is real bad"
Comments: So you have chosen death
Ive always loved the X-Men from childhood to back when I started collecting comics during the actual Infinity War to the Fox TV show. I cant stand these movies. They actually made me want nothing to do with something I loved. There was a reason X-Men was Marvels best selling comic. Matt just recognizes bad movies, and Im thankful Im not blinded by nostalgia to recognize when something I love has been taken a huge shit on. What really sucked was when the comics started trying to incorperate the look of the movie into the comic. Stopped reading all together.
Well to be honest... wolverine doesn't fight all that much in this film. And with metal giant robot sentinels he can't do much damage with bone claws. Him and beast have pretty similar strength becuae of this
The RUclips comments do not forgive Matt, like ever.
And it's so cool when he antagoizes them, incredibly gratifying.
I'm going over to my brother's house to watch this today since he hasn't seen it yet. GREAT TIMING LOL
Cool dude, comment back on his thoughts after you watch it 👍🏽
I haven’t seen it in a while, but when I get power back I plan on checking it out on Disney+ (they recently added it on there)
Hopefully he likes it...at the time it came I thought it was one of the best CBM's in recent years!(I haven't watched it in a couple years though)
Watch the Rogue Cut if you can. It's slightly better.
@Master Yoda Basically Rogue is re-inserted into the movie. Kitty gets injured and the future X-Men have to rescue Rogue so that she can absorb Kitty's power and use it to keep the time travel going.
So while "X-Men Origins Wolverine" wasn't relevant to watching this "The Wolverine" is and is also important before "Logan" so.....oops
Wait they skipped the wolverine I just realized😭😭
It's really not. If you just watch the x men prime movies and then watch Logan, you genuinely miss nothing and most of those movies developments have never been followed up on.
@@popculturewatch8689 the relevance of the vision Yukio has with Logan dying with his heart in his hand has more emotional impact and resonance with the viewer and shouldn't be disregarded. Also the pain Wolverine goes to, the cost of having his powers, has more weight. Furthermore the end credits scene set up for Days of Future Past.
@@tnashi22 again Yawn. It would change nothing of how Matt and Jenna feel about the movie. It sure isn't memorable to me at all. Neither of those two wolverine movies are. It's fine. Not essential. Especially if you aren't digging this.
@@popculturewatch8689 Wow, ok. No reason to be rude. Sorry you feel that way on it but I would argue they are far more essential then the next two X Men films. Regardless, I won't speak for either of them, they may like these two more because of the smaller story or the characters click more or whatever. Not up to me to decide that for them.

Matt and Jenna: **Don’t like the movie**
Me: Reality is often disappointing
They don’t like anything they’re so negative and then act so snotty about it like it’s complete trash like everything they’re into it’s so great look at the shirts they were you could tell their choice of TV shows is complete garbage I am trying to sound like a dick but they really come across some wrong and I don’t even think they see it you should see on their lives how they act like they’re so high and mighty and so like perfect that’s not really a good way to describe it but they act like they’re so nice and I’ve never done anything bad it really gets old they have like more bullshit than they’ve liked good movies and they’ve been more negative and disliked great movies like some of the MCU ones that are very good movies and I feel like they just do it to invoke reaction and we have a difference of opinion because of course everyone that has common sense is going to think it’s a good movie and you can’t nitpick everything or else why even watch it and do this series that must be a horrible way to go through life if you’re going to nitpick and can’t be happy about anything they act like since they’ve seen the whole MCU they just know how every superhero movie works and it’s ridiculous what a bunch of clowns bunch of bozos And since they know everything that’s never wrong about people dying and coming back even though he’s clearly been hundreds of times you should tell us what is next weeks lottery tickets as he knows it all
I’m sure it is, it will get deleted it hopefully I don’t get banned it’s just constructive criticism that’s all that’s how I see it in among a lot of others that I’ve talk to you to read it in the forums even through the comments I love holding past year in Jeremy Mountain Jenner cool I just come across a really snotty and like they’re above people in they kind of act and grateful for holding any mats always kissing his ass and tell him how grateful he is for Jenna comes across like she don’t get her way and she finally got to watch a movie she wanted which is the horror of all attitude to have when Holden done so much for these two needed the clout m the money but you can tell they sure enjoy
@@RichieEgan805 people have different tastes. The X-Men films generally aren’t that good (especially after seeing the MCU films).
@@RichieEgan805 Jeez I also loved DoFP and some other movies that Matt and Jenna didn't like but I can still respect that they have different opinions than me. If you don't like them don't watch the videos. Also you said "Holden done so much for these two needed the clout m the money" lmao look at how nice their house is, look at the 3 big healthy dogs they own, look at how Matt owns his own business and they both work in a hospital, there's no way they were in any desperate need for money or especially "clout" lol.
(BTW this is not a criticism of your opinion but you should learn to use periods, as your first comment is a 275 word sentence with no punctuation, which is pretty ridiculous to read.)

“How is Charles alive?” Because of the ending of X3 bruh
The ending of The Wolverine actually
Giusseppe Barsallo not really it’s not explained how, he just shows up.
@@FEARisCOLD thats facts, i remember watching like wtf, felt like Matt for a second
@@giusseppebarsallo695 There's a scene where charles wakes up in his twin brothers body. His twin was brain dead, but he kept him alive on machines somewhere. It's assumed that he transferred his consciousness into that body. Not out of the realm of possibilities with charles.
@@NickMaruca is that at the end of X3?
Quicksilver is Matt when holdens in the bathroom
In the end credits of "X-Men The Last Stand" Charles had put his consciousness in the brain dead body that was his twin. So, he lived in a way lol
I knew that he put himself in someone, but I didn't know it was his twin
@Nathanael Inman Plot convenience. Honestly it was never said so I don't know.
Jimmy DcRiKet well that didn’t sound right😂
Then they must have missed out on the post credits of Wolverine where you see Xavier and Erick meet up with Logan and Logan's face is pure bewilderment.
Jimmy DcRiKet it wasn’t his twin. He just uses his powers to make people see him as himself.
They didn’t “delete” The Last Stand to have Professor X in this movie. In The Last Stand, he transfers his consciousness into a coma patient. They briefly discuss the possibility of this happening early in The Last Stand, and then in the post-credit scene we see that Charles did it. That’s how he’s alive in the future at the start of DoFP.
Then they delete x-3 by having wolverine change everything lol
@@crazyape515 They deleted so much more than just that. Most of Origins: Wolverine (basically everything after the sweeping helicopter shot of Jimmy and Victor above Vietnam), X-Men 1, X2, The Last Stand (with its opening flashbacks), The Wolverine's modern events, and the darker Sentinels-infested future from Days of Future Past.
@@mattb6369 I know, I was just referring to what the OP said about the last stand because of what was said in the video
@@mattb6369
Then, Apocalypse and Deadpool 2 come along to repeat the same history from X-men Origins: Wolverine (weapon X experiment, Cyclops's origin story, and Wolverine vs. Deadpool fight).
Yeah, in the end credit scene of Last Stand, he transfers his consciousness into a coma patient with multiple theories on the details:
1) He's Charle's twin brother, which explains the same look and possibly also had the same power
2) Coma patient was unrelated and Charle's powers traveled with him and he was simply projecting his image to anyone he interacted with. This would be similar to Emma Frost in Age of Apocalypse comic line where she was quite old by that time, but she was always projecting herself to others as young and hot.
X-2 barely beats Days of the Future Past as my favorite. DoFP still has so much that bothers me like how they did Bishop dirty, and the Mystique eye-flash ending, which they pretended never happened in the next one. Fox barely cared about consistency, and played favorites with characters they took serious. There are so many great X-Men moments in the Fox movies, but I can't wait to see the MCU take a crack at it. I want that 90s team feel or Astonishing X-Men feel and even honor the original team.
There was no way Matt would like this. Too much going on for him to follow
@@Gnossiene369 not at all lol he himself has admitted to not liking stuff like this because it is hard for him to follow. Get out of here with all that lol
This video is a perfect example of why I love Jeremy’s movie analyses. Jeremy pulls no punches in standing by his favs while simultaneously suspending his own nostalgia to deliver solid critiques of thematic tropes and story development.
my bro! thank you.
always makes me proud to see that you're picking up what I'm putting down.
For me it's the best x-men movie besides Logan. No one is bad here and i like that Old and New x-men are in one film
Especially when old Magneto says: "Charles, why did we fight so much." That got me.
I think we can all agree on this:
Days of Future Past was the last X-Men movie
Logan was the last movie in the X-Men universe
Deadpool 2?

The thing that drives me absolutely crazy about your videos is how you always have the BluRay menu run in the background pre-watching. There are ALWAYS massive spoilers in these menus.
Agreed
But nobody in that room pays attention during it.
Spoilers lol the movies ten years old
@@FEARisCOLD Um.. you do know the whole point of this series is to show his friend who hasn't seen them before... right?
@@FEARisCOLD last I checked 2014 wasn't ten years ago lol. Also two of the people there have never seen them
How Xavier is alive in the future: The X3 stinger shows he has transferred his mind to his brother's hospitalized body. "The Wolverine"'s stinger shows that he's now completed that transference and is able to be rolled around again (now with Erik whose powers have continued to return, as also seen towards the end of X3). They also set up the coming of Trask's sentinels (when they originally debuted, before the time travel hijinks gave Trask a reason to convince people to move up the time table) in that "The Wolverine" stinger.
It seems like he really got bogged down by the mechanics of the film and how the timelines all worked as well as the fact that dead characters are now alive again.
While these are valid criticisms I cannot help but feel that he judges the film too harshly for it. The characters were done so well and the film has so many great moments and bits of dialogue. The way it was executed was superb in my view. Its a shame he couldn't see past all the other issues which are only minor in my opinion.
To be fair, he doesn't like this kind of stuff (from what I know). If you kept making me watch rom-coms I'm sure I would like a few, but my general opinions would make people realize that someone was forcing me to watch them.
If they watched these before the MCU movies it may have been a different story because the X-Men movies are inferior on almost all counts. However something tells me if he watched these first, he would have had no interest in the MCU because of the poor quality of the X-Men movies.
@@Kronical69420 I prefer this movie to many of the mcu movies

Yeah I’m pretty upset they skipped it both, Hugh Jackmans performance were amazing in both movies.
And the wolverine is such a good movie as well
@@andymontecinos3411 totally agree he looked his best as well
Dude the wolverine led into this movie wth
Since he forgot about Origins, he's going to doing an unofficial Wolverine Trilogy. of Origins, Wolverine, and Logan
It's weird that you though Mystique looks better in this than First Class, as this is the movie they used a bodysuit, rather than body paint. I've always found the look to get worse over every new film since 2011, as Lawrence clearly got more frustrated and used her new stardom to push the time in the chair down. Which is why we should recognize people like Dave Bautista, Karen Gillian, etc for keeping the look.
“Might wanna switch back, it’s still the 70s.”
If Matt hates it when nobody dies in these movies, he’s gonna love Logan.
Let’s hope Matt doesn’t see this

Hehe...... yeahhhhhhhhhh about that 😅
Also Matt, this version of Quicksilver came out first, so if you want to think they're the same, the one that died was after this.
With X3 there's actually an after credits scene where Charles wakes up although it's implied it's in someone else's body even though he has the same voice he's always had.
Don’t forget the Wolverine after credit with Magneto and Charles
That was his twin brother.

8:47 "They Always Live".... 5 years later all the Mutants are dead
13:35 Regarding Professor X not being "dead", it was explained in X-3.
He briefly talked about transferring consciousness during his class earlier in the movie, and then in the post credits scene, Xavier transferred his consciousness into his twin brother's body before he died, which is the reason why he's "still alive".
X3 wasn't deleted. Jean still died. Magneto got back his powers minimally as seen in the ending.
And well.. like everyone else said, skipping The Wolverine is a bad move. Plus, the ending for that also KINDA explained Charles being alive.
Holden: there was a point in time when there was a quicksilver in the MCU and X-men series which is quite interesting
Jenna: is it tho? 💀💀💀💀💀
I actually just saw this movie for the first time the day you guys uploaded this video. I loved it!!! It's one of my favorite superhero movies. I love your videos Holden. Keep it up!!!
Unpopular opinion but this is my favourite X-Men movie! The moment when the Charles’ speak is one of my highlights of the whole series. I think it’s probably because the stakes feel really high in this one, whereas in others the stakes are discussed but not really felt. I’m also a huge sucker for all the cast from both trilogies coming together. Just simply love it
This wasn't the "Rogue Cut" and you skipped "The Wolverine".
they're probably gonna watch all 3 wolverine movies in a row
Since he forgot about Origins, he's going to doing an unofficial Wolverine Trilogy, of Origins, Wolverine, and Logan
Is there a way to find the rogue cut for free?
@@reedharrington6954 What is the Rogue Cut?
Golden State Warriors 20 minutes of extra footage in days of future past that adds rogue to the storyline which made the movie even better
Note to self: if the use of time travel erases a character's history, Matt will use that fact to downgrade the film's value, regardless of its quality. I repeat, do not hold onto hope that Matt will be fair to a movie that incorporates time travel. The importance he places on personal progress ("Better than yesterday, every day") does not translate well to films/series that utilize the pattern of life, death, & rebirth. For him, it's a nonsensical cash-grabbing cop-out that cheapens the progress of a character.
Bumping cause this is so true
Funnily enough he loved endgame because even though a lot of people who died returned, black widow and tony stayed dead
Jenna: There is an animated series? That not on the list right?
Me: Just the intro song. listen to the intro song at least.

In the end credit scene of The Wolverine, we see that Logan finds out about Professor X surviving The Last Stand
Anyone else think Matt loses his mind when he reads motivational cat posters?
just to go into the reasons why this movies effects look way better compared to first class, first class had a lot less funding then this one and it also had a lot less time. Its pretty much a miracle first class works at all as a movie.
You are literally doing these movies out of order and it's killing me lol
For real. They skipped Origins:Wolverine (which you could watch at any point, it's just a backstory) and The Wolverine, which should be watched right after X3 and before DOFP.
The idea of the pebble in the river is that 1 does nothing in the grand scheme, but you can change the direction of the river with enough or bigger rocks.
If you guys watched the 2nd Wolverine stand alone movie "The Wolverine" especially the after credit scene, they might appreciate some of the situations this movie shows, particularly the old Professor X existing and Logan's pain that the younger Xavier has seen and felt. It's because of that movie added with what was going on in the future that the quote "I don't want your suffering!... I don't want your future!" has so much gravitas, which I believe is Oscar -worthy performance on James McAvoy's part.... just saying.
Also, I don't think the group, Matt especially, has grasped how dire the whole situation was in this movie... that what was happening in the past is in real time with what was going on in the future. To them, sending Logan back was it. If they fail, they get wiped out by the Sentinels there and there, and through Mystique's last minute decision to drop the gun was the thing that saved the future timeline itself. I believed they even explained this in the movie before they send Logan back to the past.
Maybe that's why they never got how dire the future situation was... how much was at stake and the gravitas of the danger of them getting wiped out was never felt by them, which is actually one of the things I believe made this movie great. The danger was real, and there are great consequences. Kinda like watching Terminator 1 and 2.
Wolverine should have been watched first. Don't care about orgins but Wolverine for sure.
He messed up damn
Matt: This movie was real bad
Jeremy: "frantically looks into the camera through the viewers souls"
You could show Matt the bible and he'll be like "The sermon on the mount was the one saving grace, because this book was just awfully written"
*Jesus rises on the third day*
Matt: Oh, so he's not dead? Of course, nobody ever dies
I mean he wouldnt be wrong... 😂
You say this like if the bible is actually a good book or something
To be fair, that IS an accurate statement, and this is coming from someone who used to go to church every Sunday and studied the Bible for years.
I mean...it's terrible, so yea, hopefully he WOULD say something like that.
Wow Matt understood Logan hadn't been injected with adamantium before even seeing Origins. Props to you.
Because he saw x men 2 which explains that he got adamantium so he assumed it has to be before lol
I swear if y'all keep hyping up Logan and Matt doesn't like it because of it, i'm going to be so pissed off
This is the 2nd best X-Men movie ever IMHO, specifically the Rogue Cut.
Oh, and it's got easily one of the best endings in comic book movie history.
"He's not dead!"
Oh man, was I yelling at him to stay quiet hahaha
@11:52. You could also think of it as a Napoleon complex. Hes already spent his whole life as a lesser person in comparison to regular humans. Now there's also people with these amazing abilities. It could be the driving force in his desire to equalize with them.
18:30 Jeremy frozen when Matt says the movie is so bad. Priceless.
Prof X went into his twins body. Transferred his consciousness to it. That's the guy in the hospital at the end
This is my favorite with the exception of Logan too.
The scene with Charles and Charles impacted a huge part of my life. It is and will probably always be my favorite scene in any movie. "It's the greatest gift we have -- to bear that pain without breaking."
Matt: this movie was so bad
Jeremy: 😲
This is my favorite X-Men movie over all I just think this is so comic booky, so much fun, etc. I think if this movie had Rogue in it as a main character I would love it even more.
I think Matt and Jenna's reactions to the X-Men movies vs. the MCU movies is pretty reflective of the movie going audience overall. The MCU movies found a way to have crossover appeal while the X-Men movies never really expanded beyond genre fans. I rank Logan, X2, Days of Future Past, First Class with the top tier of the MCU, but a general audience would not.
Dave Anderson yeah maybe its the jokes. But at their best I like the fox X-men movies more than the mcu. They have the perfect tone while the mcu has the light hearted tone which as much as I like the mcu I don’t like the jokes
Not gonna lie, I like these x men movies before I could appreciate the mcu. I feel like first class and future past perfected having a ton of characters in one movie.
@@deKlaw_04 The mcu has whole is not light hearted, more so if include the current mcu tv shows that are non canon and are dark or darker.Anyway i would for mcu movies on average or really in middle. Some could be light hearted however while other could be darker

Just generally speaking, keep in mind some of the all-time best action movies were also filled with humor and comedy -- Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Beverly Hills Cop for example. And think about some of the other great action films that also have a constant good sense of humor -- Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, The Rock, and so on. These films don't just have one or two humorous lines, they have repeated funny moments and humor throughout, and as much or in some cases more than the MCU movies.
Granted, a few MCU movies like Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Thor: Ragnarok have enough constant humor to possibly say they could be considered action-comedies, but the rest of the MCU films aren't. If some folks just personally don't enjoy comedy or humor very much and only usually like straight-up serious action, that's obviously totally fine and valid for people to have personal preferences and taste. But I think it's worth trying to be more precise about how much humor really exists in MCU films, since it's often overstated or people end up with a misperception sometimes of the overall MCU tone, and to also remember some of the all-time best and other great action films outside of the superhero genre often have a lot of humor and comedy in them too.

Marvel only doing jokes is a false narrative because Civil War wasn't and Dr. Strange only had a few. As for no wanting "dark" I never found the DCEU dark I mean honestly Marvel is doing more gritty realistic stuff on Netflix I mean Punisher came out the same day as Justice League and it's way more grittier than anything in the DCEU IMO and there was Logan which didn't fail.
Critics would not have torn the Dark Knight apart for "not being a comedy". Logan just came out and was critically acclaimed and not even slightly a comedy. A film about Wolverine of all things.
Civil War also was not a comedy. It had fun moments but the ending of that film is tragic.
Some critics just don't like certain films because they're just not very good, objectively.

JUSTICE LEAGUE A Box Office Disaster - Box Office Report

The reason is simple.....
Thor Ragnarok is like RAGING FIRE, Justice League is like smoldering fire......
Bael Bard6 hours ago (edited)
Ragnarok was a great and refreshing take on Thor, whose movies before were some the weakest in the MCU.
A space buddy cop movie with distinct visual style and humor, that isn't rehashing "save the world from the bad guy" plot and instead asks the quiestion "what does it mean to save your world?". Great and unique.
Justice League is just DC's generic attempt to be Marvel.

Rising tide raises all ships? Sure Feige has the vision to recognize that...but maybe somebody should have told Ayer who said "F**k Marvel" or Snyder who mocked Thor as laughable and Ant-Man as flavor of the month. These are the "moronic" (Campea's own words) people who DC gave the keys to.

Maybe if dc/Warner’s actually had a formula they would make a good solid movie, instead of changing idea half way through a story arc ( to try and be more like the marvel movies ) now they are throwing Snyder under the bus,the company is a joke
by Fletcher_Drumming2 days ago
The problem is that DC hasn't given me the since of darkness since The Dark Night. Suicide Squad wasn't dark, WW wasn't dark, superman wasn't dark, Justice league wasn't dark. The only one that was dark was Batman vs Superman and it still wasn't all that dark. Don't get me wrong I like DC, but if Avengers 3 and 4 are as good as they look then they really have DC beaten. The biggest problem with DC is that they are trying to rush too much.

Marvel live action movies has beaten dc live action movies already, more so if you combined the non-mcu marvel films with the mcu marvel fillms.

Not everyone turns out a winner every time. Steven Spielberg is possibly one of the best directors in the business, and he's made some of the greatest movies and some of the worst. While it is true that directors do have a specific style that can be recognized (Bay didn't get his reputation for nothing),
Marvel movies are directed by different people who bring different sensibilities into the mix. Also the MCU has proven to be diverse in tone depending on the subject matter (compare the Captain America movies to Guardians of the Galaxy or Doctor Strange). The X-Men will have a tone of its own because of the stuff that makes it unique from the other franchises and the specific creative team given the reigns. (There might be more humor than the other movies, but even Logan had comic relief. Besides some of the funniest stuff I've seen in comics outside of Spider-Man came from X-Men stuff.)
Let me give you an even easier example; the MCU has given us sci-fi, fantasy, war movies, spy thrillers, and heists within the same overall series. They also have done character development over the course of this series very well, bar none. (Also, the Captain America movies do not fit your description and Spider-Man is a property that supposed to be light-hearted by nature -- albeit with a serious edge.)
There's a difference between having humor and taking the movie seriously. The MCU does use humor, but the stories are generally taken seriously. Also, comedy does not equal a lack of substance. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was funny and had substance in the characters, like Logan had substance in its characters, but through a serious story.
The MCU movies made so far are not X-Men movies and should be taking inspiration from their source material and what makes the characters work. (For example, should Spider-Man have the same tone as Wolverine?)
Just so you know, the actual Days of Future Past story in the comics is seen and acclaimed as one of the best stories next to the Phoenix Saga. Books = Awesomeness, Movies = Hot Garbage.
honestly, the by-gone jim moments are literally just common sense, so i really don't understand how you could be so invested in them, although to be fair you do have interest in mental health so i guess that's it. not to shit on your parade, but i can't be the only one thinking this
You’re not. His constant need for “by gone Jim” is infuriating
its comon sense but when you see it expressed in words you get inspired.
13:40 because it was teased in an after credits scene from x3 that professor x survived through some sort of essence transfer, then at the end of “the Wolverine” Logan is met by both Charles and Eric at airport security, bringing him back into the fold for the set up to this film
"THEY ALWAYS LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!!!!!" --- Matt's last words as he is pushed off a cliff... :)
In my opinion this movie is so much better than First Class and Apocalypse.... I loved it so much. Seeing the original cast interacting with the new younger cast, I thought that was amazing.
Get someone who looks at you the way Matt looks when he hears a bye gon gym moment
Charles is alive because of the post credit scenes of both The Last Stand and The Wolverine.
Hopefully Matt likes this one.
Edit: :(
It seems like he really got bogged down by the mechanics of the film and how the timelines all worked as well as the fact that dead characters are now alive again.
While these are valid criticisms I cannot help but feel that he judges the film too harshly for it. The characters were done so well and the film has so many great moments and bits of dialogue. The way it was executed was superb in my view. Its a shame he couldn't see past all the other issues which are only minor in my view.
TraceRT it’s Matt... what did you excpect.
@@SIRBATMANSTJOHN what'd you expect, Matt's a schmuck
Matt is entitled to his opinion and we should acknowledge that but even I have to agree that his taste in movies is not good. He has hated upon masterpieces such as the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars and Winter Soldier but loves filler movies including many of the generic, bland, and forgettable movies of the MCU. He judges a film by its simplicity and By-Gone-Jim moments which is a massively flawed and shallow way of analyzing the merits of a film. Even the worst and shittiest movies have many By-Gone-Jim moments but that doesn't make them good. The exploration of the themes both through subtext and text, the cinematography, the visuals, the pacing, the character explorations, the direction, and hundreds of other aspects play into what makes a movie good and I have never really seen that from him. In fact, I'd say that, besides Jeremy and maybe Holden, I do not really like the way the crew critiques films because most of the times the critiques and analyses are just the most surface level and banal nitpicks they have with a film rather than going in-depth and discussing the character arcs and execution of the script and themes.
Joshua Foley yes i have
It can’t really technically be done again.. like Kitty says only Wolverine will remember everything, for everyone else it will be like the last 50 years never happened. In the rogue cut they explain that some may not even be born
Skipping the Wolverine was a big mistake. The whole 'Heart in your hands' line was heartbreaking
Yawn. Don't even remember that. Made nothing in this movie better or worse.
@@popculturewatch8689 Clearly, that line is important in 'Logan' not this movie smartass
@@Whitmore_17 yeah but still doesn't really matter. The Wolverine was even worse than origins.
I swear this is my new favorite RUclips channel
This was the first X-men movie I watched, my personal favorite... unless X2 changes my mind.
So similar to Terminator 2 and this time travel movie I enjoyed it more than Endgame
Not sure if Bolivar Trask's name was intentionally made to reflect Tony Stark's in any way, or their characters, but he is a character in the X-Men comics going back to the '60s. (So was Iron Man, so if it was intentional, it would have come from the original comics and not a thing made for or by the movies.)
Hey Holden at the end of X3 they showed Professor X take on the physical body of the guy in the coma in the post credit scene. I can't exactly remember who it was. Love you guys.
They also showed Professor X meeting Logan for the first time in the Wolverine, which I believe Holden skipped for some reason.
Oh that's right, at the airport!
The rogue cut is even better than the original one
Days of Future Past is my favorite X-Men film.
It's not that X3 didn't happened, the post credit scene of X3 portraits professor X's vegetal brother move, which means that the professor transfered his mind to that body. Also, in the post credit scene of Wolverine: Immortal, Logan asks why he is alive.
So X3 happened.
For people complaining about ‘The Wolverine’ or no ‘Rogue Cut’, just let them be man, they watch movies how they want to
Yeah buts it’s fully out of order. It’s like showing Matt the original avengers before the others standalone
No it isn’t. The Wolverine isn’t relevant at all. It’s a stand-alone movie and a bad one at that.
To be fair, the Rogue Cut is a lot better, and considering they still plan to watch the Logan movies, how on Earth will Holden explain what takes place where?
Foxtrot well I haven’t watched the Rogue Cut or The Wolverine and I thought Logan was a masterpiece🤷🏽
Razzle Squad lets be real, he gonna say ‘huh’ either way
Holden trying to explain Quicksilver to Matt was hilarious, totally different takes!
I'm just gonna say it again, Matt...your smugness knows no limits.
Amen to that.
As movie reviews go, you guys a blast to watch.
If we pretty much know they arent going to like the series, is there any point to watching the next one?
I'm with Jeremy here. I love First Class, but this is the better film.
I adore First Class for how McAvoy and Fassbender filled the legendary shoes so perfectly, that I tend to ignore it's other glaring issues because of how great the characters are. Days of Future Past gives us a great sci-fi story that fits really great with the X-Men universe (maybe the best X-Men plot of all the films) and gives us more Charles and Eric, both versions. 7.75/10, the best X-Men team movie
If a movie has a poetic quote, Matt automatically like it
Jenna's reaction to Hugh Jackman's ass is her best reaction yet.
I never considered the yellow eye flash thing, but it's better to do it that way instead of using music. It would be better to have photographers taking pictures and maybe on one of the flashes, we see it. But the whole point of the first movie when they introduced it is that regular people can't see that. It's only on a freeze frame in the right light that we might catch it. I'm fine with that, and them not wasting time showing her walk out and change.
On the Black Panther reference, I used to hate that scene. I think he might have been too ill to use his actual martial arts skill, as he did in Civil War, and perhaps in the earlier parts of B lack Panther. Bozeman is indeed a skilled martial artist. All of his action scenes after losing to Killmonger are with his face covered in Infinity War and Endgame. I think the final fight scene in Black Panther was unplanned.
There was a post-credit scene in X-Men: The Last Stand that shows Prof. X alive, he transferred his consciousness to a brain dead body, they don't show who but because it had the same voice at the end (and because they did it in the comics) it's presumed to be his twin brother
X-men doesn't have a "main story line". They literally just make movies and make up timelines and tell the fans to deal with it.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
And that's a fact
Is a disaster, they need a reboot
Not that different to the comics, then...
Before Apocalypse they did. X-Men:Days of Future Past and Logan are better than 90% of MCU films and are leagues above the past 3 MCU solo films.
Re: the Mystique makeup...
In the original X-Men trilogy, Rebecca Romijn played the character, and her "costume" was body paint and latex prosthetics. They used the same technique with Jennifer Lawrence in First Class, but she has issues with the make-up, so they changed to a bodysuit for this movie, Apocalypse, and Dark Phoenix.
Why wasn’t The Wolverine watched before this? :S
The simple answer, it's because they don't really like "mutant universe" so they don't know which order they should be watching. Origins and the wolverine, take place in the prime timeline, should have been before this one.
@@paulobrito4732 or they could've just forgotten?
I mean, The Wolverine is such a random movie. It fits into a particular part of the timeline ONLY because of the last minute of the movie
No, the movie takes place a year after last stand, and during the movie Logan is dealing with the guilt of killing Jean, and it's so bad for him that is constantly seeing her, and a part of him wants to die. The post credit scene barely connects with days of future past.
@@bluegoose7832 it was answered in the stream
@@paulobrito4732 He talked about it during a stream. He simply forgot about Origina (understandable), so instead they're going to do a Wolverine Trilogy of Origins, Wolverine, and Logan after they're done with X-Men
There was actually a post credit scene in X3, that shows the audience professor x is alive. Soooo yehhh
This movie is just great. Top 10 all time CBM for me. And no one talks about it, but one of the most underrated scores in past 15 years. Love this movie
This is why people think the x men movies are confusing because they watch them all out of order
Even in order they dont make sense.
Kronical69420 yes they do
I kinda get why Matt doesn't like that "everyone lives" but almost everyone was dead in the beginning and with everything in the past it changes.
It breaks my nerd heart that Jenna is judging the animated series based on stuff she doesn't like.
The post credit scene in X3 explains why Charles is still alive in the future.
Understandable for skipping XMEN Origins Wolverine, but how o you skip The Wolverine which explains why Professor X is alive.
They said there gonna do X-men origins wolverine, wolverine, and Logan as like a trilogy at the end when there done with all the other X-men movies
X-3 end credits explains it
charles being alive was somewhat explained in the post credit scene of last stand, he transfered his mind into the body of his twin brother who was in a coma.
also yall skipped the post credit scene to this movie too
4:54 Jesus Christ, what a prediction.
lol
