i wasn’t expecting much at all from this movie but woah … it’s genuinely good. interesting story and truly terrifying at points. also it touched on some great topics. really really enjoyed this one
I loved this movie, I went in without seeing the trailer and without seeing any reviews so I knew nothing about it before watching. Best horror I’ve seen in the cinema since Hereditary.
This was pretty good. Right tone,killer atmosphere, genuinely unnerving and suspenseful. I thought the monster design was really cliche and took me out of the third act a few times and the fake out really didn't work. Still,genuinely scary is hard to. 8/10
I was really hating the trailer until that came on the screen that one money shot made me intrigued to see this film. Maybe this is another case of bad marketing for a good movie
The good thing about "familiar" horror movies done well is for everybody just breaking into the genre. Everybody has their first 'mind blown' genre experience and as long as it's done well I think that's okay.
I haven't bought tickets yet, but am planning to tomorrow or Sunday. This movie looks really creepy and really interesting and might be a good film to go see to get into the October-Halloween Mood

So crazy seeing Caitlin Stasey in the thumbnail. As a teen I watched her on an Aussie soap opera called Neighbours which also stared Liam Hemsworth & Margot Robbie. So cool to see her in a Hollywood film.
Sean I'd be seriously interested in knowing how you would have ended the film. Having said that (like your boy Cody) I did feel it was strange that her fiance kinda disappeared towards ending of the film. And I thought because of what we found out about the mom's death that the sister/nephew were going to play a part in the ending bringing it full circle. Especially as the nephew was looking out the window watching his aunt freaking out in her car.... really looked like that was leading somewhere.
Saw it yesterday, not original by any means but damn that movie is unsettling! The soundtrack is awesomebas well, really puts you in the mood. The fact that you don't know if its happening or daydreaming helps you understand what she is going through and makes the movie frustrating in a good way.
I finally chose to watch Smile last night, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I was immediately taken captive by it. I've been apprehensive about seeing it, because the trailer felt cheesy; boy was I wrong!
The funny thing is with all the great scenes, what my mind keeps going back to is that kid's birthday party. And I really felt sorry for the lead woman's character.

Any slasher is familiar than the prior one done, that doesn’t mean that’s a negative aspect of it, why would the familiarity from this movie would be a bad aspect, but not from every movie with a slasher killer?
Idk how I feel about this one. I do like the idea of the curse being transferred from person to person and I did like the actress that played Rose. I just don’t see why people don’t listen when a person who looks scared and is telling you “I’m going to die, something is after me, or I’m next.” and they just brush it off as them being “crazy.” The jumps scares were lame and the CGI of the monster being burned alive looked ridiculous. Also if she didn’t burn the monster then what happened that whole time she was in the house? I don’t get it.
Hi Sean can you rank all nine episodes of Arcane its a modern day classic and a adaptation of a video game on Netflix and if you haven't seen it then you should because it is near perfect after episode three !
Overall I really thought it was okay. I was completely alone in the theatre so that in itself was completely terrifying with the sound design. I was constantly looking around. Only complaint: way too many jumpscares.
So the thing with the ending is we did in fact get multiple ending, just they were false. thus we have seen the satisfaction of each scenario regardless if it was the ultimate. This same thing was done in something like breaking part 2 where even non fans of Twilight we in consensus about how that was the best part. Brutal fight but it wasn't the ultimate ending
Most people don't have the time or money to watch every movie that gets released. So certain reviewers are often able to see certain movies early, so that the general audience gets a way to see if they'd be interested in seeing it or not. I hope I worded this in a way that answers your question, and hope you can have a good day.
There is no need to drop the subject in the movie. This movie might have the best form of all in the genre. The execution is unique. I think it will become favourite of many. Let's be honest, the symmetry, colours, angles and sophisticated camera operating.
A better ending could have been that Rose goes to kill herself in a remote and isolated location so as to not be any witnesses around in order to break the cycle of death and then while she is dying by her own hand she sees a random kid riding a bike that is staring at her, and thus right when she thought that her sacrifice had finally broken the cycle everything comes crashing down and she dies knowing her sacrifice was for nothing and that the cycle continues because that kid saw her commit suicide.. that would have been a very tragic and unexpected but fitting and much better ending than what we got in my opinion..
Sean your a family guy, your a wholesome guy, your a guy looking to shepherd your fellow person into a better life outside of RUclips, I saw the original Terrifier, I just don't know if I can see you as an Art the Clown kinda guy. Lmao.
I really liked it, it creeped my out in a way I haven't been in quite some time. That said, the ending wasn't my favorite. SPOILER WARNING: . . . . . . . . . . . . . I thought they would spare her and have her pass on the trauma to her nephew. That would have been much more horrifying and creative though involving children like that is always a controversial choice. Alternatively, they could have gone with her mother having been a prior victim and the trauma come full circle with Rose. The ending they chose was ok, they tried to misdirect for a few minutes before the end but ultimately it was fairly predictable. Still we'll executed, excellent acting, did the job of good horror movie to scare me silly. 8/10.

I am horror genre movies fan and I hate to admit most of the horror movies that are being made and in the past as well were mostly garbage. This one is pretty solid. Watch it in cinemas if you are a horror movie fan.
I am a horror guy, but I stay away from cinema for various reasons. I will probably wait for streaming to see hopefully a decent horror movie. To me you always came across as a family, general, or action movie fan more so than horror. Hopefully it is on streaming by Halloween.
I didnt see this movie yet but the trailer was perfect except the unnecessary showing of the rotating head jump scare at the end of the trailer (which by the way, was the scariest jumpscare i experienced in a trailer ever, but why not save that for the movie!)
I don’t think the most exciting environment is the best to watch this movie, I watched it in a toned down audience and it was very shocking, despite a couple of cheap jumpscares
I loved the movie the ending was a little disappointing and I didn’t like how to fiancé acted to the main character but other than that it was pretty good
I'm ngl, this still sounds insanely generic. I'll still check it out, but it doesn't sound like anything that'll stick with me for more than a day or two

This was a fantastic movie, so good. One of my favourite horror movies of this year so far. And Sosie Bacon is an incredible actress
