Deathguise (0:34)
Trance Kuja (3:18)
NECRON (8:26)
Won't be any additional bosses from Memoria because they were all so easy and went down the same way.. Hades barely lasted four minutes.
Easy ending to IX. I did lose to Necron a couple times due to faulty equipment setup, but after that he was easy.
That's it for Final Fantasy IX (as far as I know anyways.) Thanks for watching and check the playlist below for the entire FF9 boss series. Later!
Recorded from PS1
First playthrough
Party Lvl 59-68
FF9 Boss Playlist:
• Final Fantasy IX
When I fought this guy, his final form reduced me to everyone being dead and Vivi being left with 128 HP. I got so pissed that I was going to lose after a long battle that I just hit him with a melee attack. Vivi did like 114 damage and it was enough to kill him. I've never been more relieved in a video game.
Dope
That's how it was for me when I used Frog Squash on lavos with very little health left from frog or Chrono. That attack was enough to take him down
Final Fantasy IX: The game where you throw auto regen on all your characters and heal by casting long animation spells/abilities.
Judgemaster Kovu You know it, lol. This player here is Noob as fuck though.. Doesnt even have Zidane's Thievery attack up to MaX!! (9999) Obviously not, for he would use it otherwise...
thomas well... I don't see "pro run" anywhere in the title
@@ZenithSpellz not everyone has the time to grind out that shit lol
some people just play to beat the story and put it down once they're done
I remember putting Concentrate on Garnet then summoning = a full heal Curaga on your team😂
You didn't play final fantasy 9
"The game is over, finally"
Necron: hold my crystal
Ok
Eiko: WEST SIDE!!
Tupac the summoner
The Ganajai no, a Negromancer.
Strictly for my summons
Tupac can summon Bahamut, Uzi and Suge Knight
I love how Necron dismisses you and just explodes himself back to wherever he comes from. You don't kill him, he gets tired of you.
I thought that was Kuja teleporting the party back to the airship to save them after what hes done?
@@lowhp_comic Yeah, it was Kuja. He mentions on saving your party and even tells you to escape before it's too late.
You named Eiko Tupac?
Lmfaooooo
HahahhahahahhahHahhh,
I named her loli
Hahaha
bahahaha was about to say the same thing im dying
6:53 *Miss!?* We SAW you get punched up into the air, Kuja! You blasted off like Team Rocket! If you blocked it or something, fine, but don't throw that "Miss" crap at us.
Yeah for some reason in my game ALOT OF THE MONSTERS HAVE GUARD on that speel
The weird gamer It's because it is a earthspell so it does not work on any flying enemies
Lol funny.. But Earth attacks are ineffective against flyers and levitating enemies.
People: omg Sephiroth can destroy the planets with a meteor!
Necron: Can reduce existence to a state of nothingness.
Better than that :
Sephiroth : Gives the illusion of destroying the entire solar system with supernova
Kuja :
Actually destroys Terra planet with his trance gained by souls he absorbed.
Uhmmmmmm. Ultimecia can literally compress or stop time
Sephiroth is actually one of the weaker villains as his forte leans more towards swordsmanship rather than pure destructive potential like the rest of the villains. His feats as a result, are far less devastating.
However, Sephiroth’s goal and strategy to achieve it are still more unique compared to the other villains. Most of the FF villains just want to blow up the planet or universe, and they are cosmic level…just because they were written to be like that. For Sephiroth, at least it was because of Jenova and the Lifestream. And his plan isn’t even to blow the planet, it’s to cause a wound big enough so he can absorb the Lifestream and get even more power
Kefka: becomes an almighty god of destruction through statues and brings the whole world to ruin
After like 5 failed attempts I managed to beat Necron... With Steiner... At 1HP. Steiner solo'd him for the remainder of the battle at 1HP. I yelled. Auto-Life was a godsend. What a way to end a first playthrough!
*Trance Kuja battle* - _"alright Kuja, let's finish this!"_
*Necron battle* - _"bro who the fuck are you?"_
Finally, the game's over
Necron: I'm about to end this man's whole career.
"This is not the end."
I agree. FFIX sequel, please.
either that or future final fantasy that takes place in the same world with even the same places
That would be absolute autistic but shitlords like you will buy anything Square throws at you.
FFIX Is not that good,so no thanks
FFIX is great boi Edit: But no sequel
would be nice with the 8 original returning plus adding beatrix and lani as playable with the tantalus gang
You named Stenair "Stinker"? That's actually very funny.
I usually just name him Cyborg Franky... which is funny considering this guy named Zidane "Luffy"
Oluf The Explorer What's a Luffy? I know the character from One Piece, I meant the word.
Game Guy95 What else would I be talking about other than the character from One Piece?
Oluf The Explorer Usually, calling names like that have a different meaning. Luffy sounds like word for "street rat" or "thief".
I laughed so hard when Eiko tried to cast Esuna on Freya and it got reflected XD
XD Necron just says thank you. xD
I got terrified by "decisive battle" theme during my first battle with Necron
Grand cross can't be healthy for the planet....
Wayne Szalinski Grand Cross is a Large Planet Buster attack. In real time, the planet would most likely start to crumble and break apart.
It is supposed to be an astrological event. Google it.
Too be fair Necron is only there to wipe out life because Kuja destroyed the crystal of life.
This game is a masterpiece.
So is your mom.
Just finished it today.
Great game but some elements aged poorly ngl 😂
This game is way too slow. IMO. My only nitpick.
@@Glowstix I just played it for the first time and finished it this week. The gameplay is definitely SLOW. Great story and characters, but the battles were tedious and time-consuming.
Necron has 54100 hp
Necron really be like "bitch you thought we'd end it with a non god fight"
Ark expected function: deal tons of non elemental damage because its the strongest eidolong thats fucking why
True function: heal the whole fucking party out of regen because of the 1 hour long animation
I tried this at level 54, I had no idea how RPGS worked, I fought him loads but in the end I just have up..80+hours... furthest I'd ever been in an FF game
80 hours and only level 54?
lol why no one uses vivi? he made the final boss a piece of cake. flare and doomsday all day
Vivi + eiko = insta win. Reflect on the whole party, then doomsday. That's a 5 x 9999 combo right there.
Oluf The Explorer if vivi was in trance that will be 10x 9999
Bogyman Noobman Exactly my good man. Vivi is op when paired with Eiko
That wasn't so with me. The one who made Necron guaranteed to fail was Zidane. At first zidane was weak af, but when Necron sent him into a trance, all bets were off. I hit the fucker repeatedly with grand lethal doing 9,999 every turn, and by the time Zidane's trance meter hit 0, it was all over. Zidane saved my ass in 9.
Oh my god what do you do with the names?
I love this game, but i hate how easy are the bosses when you get auto-life, regen and haste.
dont use them. but i do know what you mean.
@@JohnnyKurbstomp I did.
Not only that, but I used Amarant and his healing claw to bitch slap everyone back from the brink of death . . .
Yea, I didn't really know how to use the ability system to my advantage XD
The bosses should have auto regen too. A strong version. Then it might be a bit more fair.
Stop it lol
I fought this boss as a kid and I couldn’t win bro tf
Like an RKO, Necron came out of nowhere!
That’s the sense I got from joshscorcher’s “Top Ten Overshadowed Bosses” video.
He even mentioned two ways it could’ve worked story-wise. One would’ve been proper foreshadowing, maybe a few readable books or times describing Necron, or a comment about how Kuja and/or Zidane were created “to enact Necron’s will”. The other would’ve been to make Necron an embodiment of Kuja’s intense emotions, finally stronger than the genome body could contain.
The second would’ve been pretty easy - keep the boss’s appearance and fight the same, but change their dialogue to sentence fragments with a single coherent point, and rename it to accentuate that point: “Nihilism”.
I still don't see why no one understood this fight- he didn't come out of "no where", he's the embodiment of death that came when Kuja destroyed the life crystal. Duh, Jennifers
Kuja failed to destroy the crystal, brah
necron is the god of death
For me Necron is the fear of death, not death himself. The darkness of eternity is this despair that for example the people of Terra, Kuja and Vivi has to face in the story. "I will exist as long as there is life and death", in other words I will exist as a fear of death as long as there is life. You only win against him when Kuja choses hope/life over despair.
Auto reflect on whole team, and casting spell on your whole team, reflecting it 4 times, increases spell damage a lot and is funny too.
I love the distorted theme music
as theatrical as Kuja is, you'd expect him to fight Necron for his spotlight, saying something like "The stage is mine" or "Extras should know their place". He was a freaking trance god for crying out loud.
kuja's destruction of the crystal and wanting to end life due to his own expiration IS the reason for necron's appearance
I read a theory that necron is an new eidolon born out of kuja's mortality fear, honestly it makes sense
Zidane: So, this is your true form, huh Kuja!
Necron: No, I am a completely different final boss.
Zidane: Oh... well you must've been pulling the strings behind the scene then!
Necron: Nope, that was all Kuja.
Zidane: I see... Then you must've been biding your time for a chance to take over or destroy the world!
Necron: Not at all. I have zero impact or involvement in the story. I'm just here to be a final boss. In fact a being known as Hades was supposed to take over the plotline here and had a much bigger involvement in the story involving the Crystals compared to me.
Zidane: ...We could replace you with a walnut and it'd be just as much relevant to the story as you, couldn't we?
Necron: I know....
Better than FFX
I love both
Behold I'm the Final Boss!
Entire Party: Who?
Boss: EXACTLY
Same with Cloud of Darkness and Zeromus
@@iam4026 atleast zemus mentioned...
PEPSIMAAAAAN
Absolutely love these absurdly over the top attacks with the RIDICULOUS sound design. That Grand Cross attack so fucking hilariously excessive. Utterly tremendous. Lmao
LOL you called Steiner Stinker!!!! XD
Tupac. You're quite the badass there.
Thank god grand cross is not as long as supernova
"wait, who are you again? Are you sure you didn't accidentally teleport in from another Final Fantasy game? Because we've all been there, man."
I see that Necron kinda looks like hermofrodite humanoid. Is it apotheosis?
This summer, Eiko Carol IS.......Tupac Shakur.
Came here from joshscorcher’s “Top Ten Overshadowed Bosses” list. It’s not a terrible boss by any stretch… but it comes flat out of nowhere.
If you ask me, it would’ve been simple to make Necron fit. Rather than a previously unmentioned god, it could’ve been an embodiment of Kuja’s strong emotions, now too intense for his genome body to contain. Rename him “Nihilism”, and change his dialogue to sentence fragments reflecting that emotion… and have him explode upon defeat. Everything else can remain the same.
necron is a simbolic battle representing the fear of death. Zidane and the others find a meaning in their life, understand what is the will to live and shwed him how strong their desire truly was. Necron has more sense than everything in the game, since it is the final battle for everyone that found out about hope
That's clever for Zidane's name. Monkey D Luffy. Haha I get it, cuz he has a tail... Nice.
Everything in this game is too good, even the music
Neuron came out of nowhere with no story explained. he didn't need to exist
Apparently he is hinted toward, but subtly. I think it's when it's discussed about how all the crystals (like Garnet and Eiko's) all used to be together, but something separated them, but I'm not sure.
necron is the god of death. just like the crystal was the means of life.
He’s death they Should be dead but they beat death with the will to live aka plot armor but it’s still an amazing game
Necron appeared when kuja destroyed the life crystal.
He's part of the main theme of the game.
i truly don't remember fighting that deathguise thing.
i do remember every other miniscule details of ffix but not the skeletal flying monster before kuja...
guess it never was a beep on my radar back then, i remember though that the last two bosses were piece of cake and left me saying "uh...i guess that's that? cool game and story but weak end bosses = _= "
even with that in mind i still put this on the first place for favorite final fantasy game.
second VII, third VI/III and fourth VIII.
necron can be easy or tough depends on the situation. plus if this game didnt have the abilities his grand cross would be a massive nightmare. sucks that he rarely uses his meteor but his neutron ring can be pretty deadly if not prepared. added to that he can use at least 3 moves in one turn.
killer music ... necron theme..
@@JohnnyKurbstomp both were great
It's interesting, that Necron, the death it self, uses a Life spell, Curaga to heal...
It actually should hurt him, Bio should heal him.
Not sure why he wasn't Undead element.
+Queen Strong
if he were undead, it would be easy to defeat him
I have always seen Necron as the fear of death not death itself. "The Darkness of Eternity" as he calls himself is that fear. The despair that the Terrans, Kuja, Vivi and many others in the story has, though they coop with it different. You only defeat Necron when Kuja has a change of heart and saves you. The will to live is stronger than despair, that is what defeats Necron. The final battle represent IMO the whole theme of the story hope vs despair.
@@00Kuja00 nicely put. i will never understand why people say that necron is an out of nowhere final boss. it is what the theme of the game is all about a meaningless life of despair and suffering and the end of life itself thus the crystal. once trance kuja ultimaed everything the crystal included THIS is the final result.
@@kefkarothsephka7708 Thank you. Apparently many overlook this.^^*
if they swapped necron's fight in place with trance Kuja Himself and had Him be the final boss with Dark Messenger as the last battle, it would be a better ending than anything.
nah it was perfect the way it was. plus trance kuja is still regarded as a final boss even though he isnt the one u fight last. so be happy with that.
Nah it's fine the way it is. Kuja in a last ditch effort knowing he is going to die anyways destroys the crystal of life causing Necron to appear after deeming that life no longer wanted to live and then the party dukes it out with death himself until he realizes that life actually wants to live.
Only final boss that doesn't actually die?
Probably. Since in the story IMO he is the fear of death which is nothing you can beat with brute strenght. He is only defeated when Kuja choses life/hope over despair. That is why Necron says he will always exist as long as there is life and death, as the looming fear (darkness of eternity) of dying.
I agree, although I gotta say... FF10 had some revolutionary tracks.
This modafucka said stinker and tupac that shit hadme dyinggg
King Zidane, ahh that's epic haha. Thanks for all the tips! They were greatly appreciated.
What you don't use Vivi?
He has op spells like flare and doomsday
Trance Kuja is SSJ4 Goku CONFIRMED.
0:58 terrifying
Yeah. Like the game says, the Black mages all have a short life span. They don't know what death is, they just know sooner or later the mist in their body's will run out given enough time. And yes Beatrix has to obey Zidane now too :D Zidane must have had all kinds of things for Steiner and Beatrix to do, wish they showed a few of them :(
ja rule's not tupac. You got that?
Trance Kuja reminded me of SS4 a bit
Dragon's crest. Yes, hit a demon with satan, exorcist.
You did it, you beat the game! Like i told ya the only boss you didn't fight was Quina's master, but that fight is meh anyway. So how was the game? Did you like it or was it just okay? Well this FF game is in my top 3 with 7 and 10. They went back to their roots with this game. Such a great story. Zidane is such a nice guy, he went back for Kuja. Also when you are reading the end game's writing that is Vivi talking before he died. Zidane never got the chance to say goodby to his friend in time.
Love this game ever
Eiko as Tupac
ajaassffaaaaaaargh
My name is Rachel hahhaa nice name on Zidane hahaha
That's not zidaneits freya
+The weird gamer that's not zidane its freya
more like the title should be final battle trance kuja and necron since they are the final battles unlike deathguise which u can kill and save.
Grand Cross is a bootleg Supernova.
Ultimecia had a Supernova knockoff too lol.
but more deadly than supernova since supernova cant kill
But at least Vivi got to be a father in the end. The mini Vivi's lol. And Zidane got the girl in the end. He came back to be with Garnet. You know what that means? He is Steiner's boss because he is the king now mwuahahahaha. The game doesn't state where he left Kuja btw or if he died. I assume he left Kuja in a safe place to heal before passed away. And now Zidane can go be with his wife o.O Bet Garnet learned to not be so gullible after all the things she learned.
I wish we vivi could use Flare Star, its one of the coolest looking moves in FFIX imo. Its the only reason i like battle kuja, especially when he uses flare star at the music part of 5:33-5:55.
Blue shockwave should kill instead of bringing to 1 hp.
I like how this song has a mix of Jenovas theme from FF7 and the beginning song from FF7 game when they get off on the train.
how you get Ragnarok Sword?
azizurian darma You can find it in the "Outer Island" chocograph. While on choco, head to the island immediately to the right of the entrance to the Desert Palace.
Have they ever found One Piece yet?
This is what happens when i take a shiit in the toilet :) 10:33
Oh my God. This comment is 2 years old but yet I laughed way too hard at it.
Tupac, Eiko, nice 👁👁👌
Yeah I'll have to approach frog catching more attentive next game. That's the only ultimate weapon I never got. I loved this game, in the PS1 era it's the number one game for me after FF7 and FF8. Overall, this was one great FF. Like you said it was nostalgic and one thing I loved..... IT WAS BALANCED lol. No broken Materia setups or Triple Triad Card Modding cheapness to make this game any easier. Figured Kuja couldn't survive after all that. That was Vivi? :( He does grow on you!
i never completed this game lol
This was a fun game, but the key villains and final boss lacked imagination.
zidane,eiko,steiner:suicide→blue shockwave→jump→blue shockwave×3→jump→blue shockwave×3→...
So the final boss in FF9 is a giant face hugger. Imagine that.
That is not dead which may eternal lie. For with strange aeons even death may die.
It's weird to see Thundaga not drop the framerate after playing this on a PS1.
I don't think the boss Necron was necessary at all.
He is there for symbolism. Macron is Death itself. FF9 has a heavy theme of death, so it makes sense that they'd fight Death at the end. Also it makes even more sense since after the fight with Kujo they were actually supposed to be dead, but they fought Death for a second chance at life. :)
For me he represents the whole theme of the game: the battle between hope and despair. He is the Darkness of Eternity, aka the fear of death that the people of Terra, Kuja, Vivi and others in the story has to face. In other words not death itself, but the despair/fear of it, since in the FF9 universe death is not final, since the memories of the dead lives on and builds layers of experiences.
On the other hand, THANKS FOR POSTING A VID OF MY ALL TIME FAV PS1 GAME!!!! XDDD
So this is Tupac aftrerlife, reincarnated became A loli Neko summoner
I can't believe Tupac helped kill death.
How can be steiner doesn't use auto-regen to final fight against necron.. I always used all auto-regen for character to bit this necron. And I need a few attack with Quina (frog drop 9999), steiner (shock & Climb hazard 9999), Zidane thievery 78++, And Garnet with Cures all bad status and healing fast with summon attacked ark 8000+
Oh yes, is Thunder Blade (or whatever its called) worth having on Steiner? I noticed its hit rate is very poor.
Just finished FF9 for the first time recently. I thought the game was pretty good, but I hold 7 and 8 way higher.
I wasn't really impressed by the music in 9, especially compared to previous games. And I thought the ending, Necron specifically, was lackluster. Nowhere in the game was he mentioned, he just came out of nowhere. I figured the last boss would be Kuja or Garland. Nope, just some random guy out of nowhere.
After the FF7 remake, the next should be FF8. Even with the mixed feeling towards it, it has amazing potential in a remake. Then 6 and finally 9, if it ever gets to that point. 7 and 8 are games I will always remember, nothing stood out for me in 9.
Same here, 7 and 8 were way better. I feel 9 is overrated by a REALLY vocal minority today. They love to trash 8 even though it was the more popular game back in the day. Square lost the source code to remaster 8 but hopefully they find it at some point or remake the game.
@@NineTails87 ff8 is garbage. it is only somewhat alright until after the first disc
the edited names have me breathless
lmao
why man??
Yeah it's an apparent glitch in the game, sucks too because along with Climhazzard and Shock, it's a cool attack.
Wait is Healing the undead to damage it works in this game?
You know you can hold r1 and r2 in to switch 10 items at a time in the menu.
Yeah wasn't thinking, thanks for that.
necron is a very random character to me. pops out of no where
Zidane=Luffy?
Shame you didn't steal some items from Deathguise and then saving your game before Kuja 😁.
Game should have ended at the Kuja battle
You're welcome! It's one of my favs too.
Tupac is good name 😂
Tiger raket Elko, you know?
Disappointed you didn't name Freya Ratchel.
I remember the first time I saw Necron boss fight. I was all like "WTF? Where this guy came from?".
Because, really, this final boss is never mentioned in the course of game. I can't imagine another FF big bad worse than this one.
For me he represents the whole theme of the game: the battle between hope and despair. He is the Darkness of Eternity, aka the fear of death that the people of Terra, Kuja, Vivi and others in the story face.
Stinker the knight 😂
