Oh Viv! You couldn’t look bad in anything! I just got a box of fabric on my doorstep too and I was pleased as punch over it. I love the top you are wearing by the way!
Always always enjoy your videos! Thanks for sharing, Thankyou for the “pep” talk, I too am a little hmmm...... about sewing ! Your comment about “just sew one seam”! Is the ticket to getting going!
This is a nice surprise in my drab day. I agree with you that if you will just do SOMETHING, it will get you going. I was so out of the mood and upset about an occurrence, but I walked over to my project and decided to just draw a 2" line at the top of a pant to make the waistband fold over and match what it was folding to. It was over an hour later that I realized I had not stopped, and I was enjoying the project again. LOL Love your new fabrics! The pattern with the strip going through the top and back and tying in the front or on the shoulder is DARLING!
Love you fabrics! Don't worry about your skirt. The fabric is fantastic! Vogue has a skirt that has that type of fabric and it does stand out away from the body, but it looks very nice and festive. You will look great.
Had I known that wonderful box of fabric was just sitting on your front porch, I would have driven up the coast, sat with it and waited for you to open your front door! What gorgeous fabrics! I’m most definitely setting my alarm for early Friday morning! Thanks for the tip! I love, love, love the blouse you are wearing, Viv, color, design on fabric, and sleeve length! I’m thinking it is Connie Crawford for Butterick #5216? I have that pattern and have never sewn it up! So glad I waited…I would need the extra length you referred to as well! I was not aware the old Kwik Sews were such a collectible - makes me proud to be the owner of many of them! Your e-bay pattern haul was a treasure trove to be sure! Last but certainly not least the “party skirt.”. My oh my is that fabric not sensational??? Can’t wait to see it on you! Storms coming in today….that’ll push me into my sewing room for certain!
Ah Teresa, always so lovely to hear from you. Doesn’t it just FIGURE that fabric dot com did not run “Act Fast Friday” today?! What are the odds? They really do that sale almost every Friday. Would have loved to had you in for coffee or tea or kombucha and go through the fabrics together. If only some sewing buddies lived nearby!!
You are right. Sewing is a gift. I never thought about that before because in my days we all had to take sewing in 7th grade. That’s when I fell in love.
Five yards of that gorgeous Telio seems like a dream! Can't wait to see it sewn up! Such lovely fabrics today! I think your Milly fabric is stunning! I often watch (or listen to) your videos more than once. You are so calming and always make me feel happy. 💜 I said a prayer of gratitude for Zigg this morning. Thank you for ending with a sewing pep talk. Classic Vivmom! 😁
Thanks Tammy! Old Zig is just happy as a clam, napping in the sunshine and getting any treats his heart desires. I appreciate everyone’s prayers SO MUCH!!!💕
Do love your Fabric.com purchases especially the large colorful floral. The Milly skirt fabric does look special. If you end up unhappy with it being too stiff or puffy, maybe convert those gathers to a few released pleats (think that is what they are called when you stitch them partially down a bit from the waist and then let them open). And so glad to hear your furry child is doing better!!
My girlfriend made pattern 3225 years ago... I remember because it looked stunning on her. She used a medium weight t-shirt type material in candy apple red... it looked stunning with her summer tan.
I think your top looks Loverly. Beautiful fabric & pattern haul you have there. Looking forwards to seeing your July makes on Friday, or maybe Saturday, what with time zones. Lol. Glad Zig is continuing to heal well. TFS & take care too everybody. ❤🙂🐶
Can't wait to see your fab skirt! Good luck! Let US decide if it looks good on you or not. You are always too hard on yourself. Glad Zig is fine! Hugs from Sweden.
OH MY GOODNESS! I absolutely LOVE the giant floral prints. Love the patterns, as well. I recently got two new (new to me) drop waist dress patterns. Just between you and me, that drop waist in denim will be 2 things -- very prison looking, but THE BEST DRESS ON THE PLANET! It's always "the ugly" things that feel the best. It's a gorgeous pattern. Can't wait to see these fabrics and patterns used! LOVE what you are wearing! (yeah, totally get the too short thing, still, it is beautiful!) Pet Zig for me!
What a stunning skirt! Can’t wait to see the finished outfit - it’s going to be Red Carpet worthy! You are blessed, if I made anything for my kids it would politely hang in the closet- forgotten. Blessings on you and yours. 🌻 ~Nancy
I'm (mostly) a quilter. I totally agree with your advice to "sew 1 seam". I do that all the time and I'm amazed how much gets done over time. Thanks for the video. The fabrics and patterns are so pretty!
I just love you to pieces. You do not deserve any negative comments, please please please do not take them to heart. Your good heart has no space for them. I usually watch you on my small tv in my sewing room so I cannot comment or hit the like button, but I am there and you are sewing with me almost everyday. I just want to hug you. Lisa
Great fabric-love the large scale print and the mikado. Hope the Milly fabric skirt turns out. Looking forward to your July makes. Tell Zig I'm glad he's still here and give him some love from me. 😘
That is a really pretty fabric for the skirt. I hope that it works out gathered. The rest of the fabric and patterns are great! Can’t wait to see what you make.
Thanks for sharing!! Suggestion for that sparkly skirt - take out the gathers and pleat it into the waistband instead. Best wishes, and see you on Friday!
Hi Viv, the fabric of your skirt is beautiful. If I were you instead of gathers I would make unpressed pleats at the waist and if it was still too bulky I’d sew them down just a couple of inches. Looking forward to seeing your July makes.🇦🇺
So glad to hear kitty is doing good. I love the fabric and the patterns. I am improving from my surgery last Friday but right now even simple things just wear me out so I’m not able to sew right now. I’m enjoying watching sewing videos for the time being but I find myself getting a little overwhelmed about what I think I want to do first when I can get back to my sewing room. I can’t wait to see your fashion makes
I hear you on feeling overwhelmed, Victoria. Sending love and prayers for your recovery. Tell yourself “there’s plenty of time,” over and over. It’s true, anyway, and it calms me down. The world always tells us to rush. No need to rush!
Always so exciting to get a delivery of fabrics, and yours looks like you'll be kept busy for a long time....I think once the skirt is completed, it will look beautiful, as long as you keep the top simple, possibly in solid black...I too use vintage patterns and have a huge collection of them for men......
Glorious fabrics! I just love the first large floral print (I would love to find a fabric like that!). I agree, the Macodo fabric is so lovely: great for a classy structured outfit. The fuschia pink, "true kisses" fabric is such an elegant, feminine piece...perfect dress for wearing in spring or summer when going out to dinner, a concert or a wedding ... somewhere fancy. The 5 yards of material is nice but I believe you will pick a pattern that elevates this material to a whole new level... kind of a modern print for a statement piece... perhaps, one of those long elegant dusters, or palazzo pants...some style that attracts attention, Mediterranean maybe. I am looking forward to seeing what you choose do to with it! P.S. I think the blouse you are wearing is so pretty, and making it a little longer next time is a good way to go. Nevertheless, it is still so cute at this short length too.
VivMom, always love looking at your fabric choices and patterns. Today's favorite was the Macado fabric...blue with white flowers...it looks like ART. I'd make stove pipe slacks and a solid blue top. Thanks for taking the time to share with us. Nancy in Mobile. (just starting to thunder here and hopefully cool us down!)
I checked outside my door - no fabric box for me. I love Heather Bailey fabric designs. She does some very nice ones, particularly in cotton. I didn't know she did garment fabric. The 3413 would look very nice in a chambray denim for casual summer wear. Love the project you are working on. Very reminiscent of 60's formal wear sewing. Looking forward to seeing it.
Hi Vivmom...been thinking about you! So happy Zig is doing well! I can see you looking great in all those pattern makes and the beautiful unusual fabrics too...so happy for you!🤗
Hi Viv! You can get some older “Kwik Sew”patterns on “Something Delightful.” I just ordered a few in the higher 3 thousand numbers. I don’t think they go back too far. No 3559 that I’m still on the hunt for lol! Anyhow they have them on sale for 2.99 till 8/1. Not as great a sale as Joanne’s or HL but good for ones you can no longer get there. Can’t wait to see your makes for July.😊
Yes! That’s true! I scooped up several from Something Delightful when KS was on sale for $2.99 - and they arrived before the year turned over🤣 amazing! I always look for 3559 for you! I’ll keep looking, between the two of us we will find it!!
A great jumpsuit for that extra yardage would be great! As far as Millie fabric skirt--just convert your gathers to large pleats at waist for an easy conversion to something that would work with the body of that fabric. My sewing is on hiatus right now but I love seeing your challenging makes and ideas.
Hi Viv, thanks for the details of your blouse. I’ve just ordered the pattern. I saw you wearing it in a previous video and thought how lovely you looked in it. Xx
Cannot wait to see that skirt Friday! I really like the top you are wearing. Can you maybe add an “under layer” of fabric to lengthen it a bit? It’s so cute on you and maybe you would enjoy it more if it was a bit longer.
Hi Viv, you could alway try it pleated. Large pleats which lie flat around that critical area but give a beautiful bell shape . Milly Fabric is gorgeous. Laura, Sydney
I was thinking the top with the straps that feed through the casing could be very striking! I love that pattern. Beautiful fabrics and patterns! Looking forward to your July makes video 😊
Love that skirt looks like the old dirndal skirts I would make to go to weddings had 7 in one year would not use a pattern just took a length of fabric and added a waist band that when I was a size 4 so even 45 inch would go around me ha ha not to day at 66 but loved that look I sure will be lovely can always take to dry cleaners to press have done that before if can handle the heat can't wait to see it finished 😀
Hello, There's a new elastic thread called Saraflex from Germany, I'm not quite sure the use knits, but you can machine wind it on a bobbin set it on slow or you'll wrap it
I love a floral on a dark background!
Oh Viv! You couldn’t look bad in anything! I just got a box of fabric on my doorstep too and I was pleased as punch over it. I love the top you are wearing by the way!
"Butterick, Do they really mean that". 😅 You are so funny.
I love your channel. Great patterns and fabric as usual.
Always always enjoy your videos! Thanks for sharing, Thankyou for the “pep” talk, I too am a little hmmm...... about sewing ! Your comment about “just sew one seam”! Is the ticket to getting going!

I love your enthusiasm and happiness on fabric, patterns snd sewing.
Love you fabrics! Don't worry about your skirt. The fabric is fantastic! Vogue has a skirt that has that type of fabric and it does stand out away from the body, but it looks very nice and festive. You will look great.
You have excellent taste in fabric.
I just adore all of your room colors and coordinating furniture. Your decor just exudes happiness. 😊
Thank you, Venus! What a sweetheart!
Love your hair!

Wear that GORGEOUS skirt with a black fitted top and you're off to the races! Really beautiful!
Beautiful fabric and some cute patterns. Thank you for sharing!
You are right. Sewing is a gift. I never thought about that before because in my days we all had to take sewing in 7th grade. That’s when I fell in love.
I love that you are never afraid of a print. I love prints! My closet makes me so happy.🤗
I love the fabric that you got 5 yards of !! , in these crazy times I find your videos comforting. Thank you. 😊
Viv, that last fabric makes your skin glow!! Beautiful!! And a great haul over all.
Five yards of that gorgeous Telio seems like a dream! Can't wait to see it sewn up! Such lovely fabrics today! I think your Milly fabric is stunning! You are so fun! I Love that you open the fabric box with a pair of scissors.... thats what I call thrill seeker. Love it!
Do love your Fabric.com purchases especially the large colorful floral. The Milly skirt fabric does look special. Mikado print is beautiful, I can’t wait to see what you sew. Wow! Great fabrics. 😊
Oh, wow, that first one is wonderful! I'm so short and couldn't wear that so enjoy whatever you you do with it. You'll look gorgeous!
Hi viv I'm so pleased your little cat is ok
The fabrics were lovely see you in the makes vlog
Take care xx💙💚💛💜
Tissue paper wrap would be better than plastic in this day and age.. climate change.. Love all your makes..
Lovely fabric, but can't wait for Friday. Thanks Vivmom. 😍
They may wrap it separately but it’s not great for the environment Viv, you got some nice fabric though.
If the skirt doesn't work, there looks like plenty of fabric to make a pencil skirt. I can't wait to see how it turns out. It is very pretty fabric.
Party in a pencil!
The fabric is truly stunning!
I was thinking the same-or even an a-line!
I think your top looks Loverly. Beautiful fabric & pattern haul you have there.
Looking forwards to seeing your July makes on Friday, or maybe Saturday, what with time zones. Lol.

Great fabric-love the large scale print and the mikado. Hope the Milly fabric skirt turns out. Looking forward to your July makes. Tell Zig I'm glad he's still here and give him some love from me. 😘
Will do, Laura! Thanks❤️❤️
Thinking the fabric color you said you dont wear often will look great on you! But my favorite fabric is the one your top is made of ❣️
That is a really pretty fabric for the skirt. I hope that it works out gathered. The rest of the fabric and patterns are great! Can’t wait to see what you make.

Oh, I love that 'wrap dress' pattern. Lucky you. ~ L
Great fabrics and patterns!
You look do pretty today! Love that shurt and all-over print.
If the skirt doesn't gather well, how about pleating instead? Thank you for sharing!!
The top your wearing is beautiful, and your hair looks great up. Great fabrics,
Love your videos!! Can you please do another sew along sometime?? I enjoy those so much!
The fabric is beautiful. I had to go to eBay and buy the B5216. It’s so cute. Thanks for sharing. I hope zig is doing well.
Love that dropped waist. Nice to see you.
I'd take those 5 yards you bought by accident and make a jumpsuit. I think it would look cute on you!
I THINK EVERYTHING YOU MAKE IS FAB KEEP IT UP YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME ME TO GET BACK TO SEWING AFTER BEING DISCOURAGE SINCE COVID HIT
Can't wait to see what you do with the huge floral print. Keep that sewjo going!
Really nice collection of fabrics...
VivMom, always love looking at your fabric choices and patterns. Today's favorite was the Macado fabric...blue with white flowers...it looks like ART. I'd make stove pipe slacks and a solid blue top. I wash my rayon fabric in warm water and a cold rinse. I dry on medium. Love your fabric! I'm currently practicing abstinence on fabric buying.
Me too.

Love the blue macado so dressy
Hi Viv!! Wonderful fabric haul.. Love the patterns you got too.. Can’t wait to see vlog at the end of the month….
💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
How about converting to dirndl style skirt for that beautiful Mille fabric. Gathers but controlled and skirt shaped defined. Love your channel!🤗
Love the blue and white Make a pencil skirt!
This is a beautiful skirt! I wait for your July makes...Macado fabric is remarkable
Oh please, oh please show the fly in a video I struggle because my brain can’t get it ❤️
Yes!!
Love your pic for the Mikado print Vic. Very elegant! In my experience Telio fabrics are high quality. I especially like their knits.
A great jumpsuit for that extra yardage would be great! As far as Millie fabric skirt--just convert your gathers to large pleats at waist for an easy conversion to something that would work with the body of that fabric. As always love your fabric picks. But I have to say I love the top you have on. It looks fabulous on you
Oooo! That wrap dress is super clever 😊
Hi vivmom my favorite is the red and love the print on your top
Love the new fabric! All are beautiful.
❤ until Friday. Love your New fabrics.
Hi Viv, thanks for the details of your blouse. I’ve just ordered the pattern. I saw you wearing it in a previous video and thought how lovely you looked in it. Xx
Great fabric haul!! Can’t wait until Friday ! Your makes are always fabulous!
Love the pattern reveals.
Love that floral
As always, love patterns and fabrics. Can’t wait to see your makes.
Can't wait till Friday, love seeing your makes. It chivvies me up when I've lost my sewjo.
Cannot wait to see that skirt Friday! I really like the top you are wearing. Can you maybe add an “under layer” of fabric to lengthen it a bit? It’s so cute on you and maybe you would enjoy it more if it was a bit longer.
I was thinking along the same lines, an extra gathered peplum or a bias cut flounce underneath that follows the hemline would look really pretty.
Ahh! So happy🐱 Zig is doing well.😊✝️🙏
Lovely fabric. 🤩🤩💖
Love that blouse!
Jen's sewing room made some dresses with the big pockets on it and so cute.
Such beautiful fabrics. And I love the patterns. Looking forward to your July makes.
Hi Viv, you could alway try it pleated. Large pleats which lie flat around that critical area but give a beautiful bell shape . Milly Fabric is gorgeous. Laura, Sydney
I like the hot pink fabric the best. I think it would make a great dress, very feminine.
I was thinking the top with the straps that feed through the casing could be very striking! I love that pattern. Beautiful fabrics and patterns! Looking forward to your July makes video 😊
Can't wait till friday!
Viv, so glad you popped in today what beautiful fabrics you have I can't wait to see the finished skirt. try wearing it with a fitted top.
Tutorial! On the fly zip. And treat yourself to a mani pedi and go for it! We will ❤️ it
Going to visit the sis next month- Fabric Mart is in my future,

Love that skirt looks like the old dirndal skirts I would make to go to weddings had 7 in one year would not use a pattern just took a length of fabric and added a waist band that when I was a size 4 so even 45 inch would go around me ha ha not to day at 66 but loved that look I sure will be lovely can always take to dry cleaners to press have done that before if can handle the heat can't wait to see it finished 😀
Your macado fabric would be nice as a fifties jacket.
Hello, There's a new elastic thread called Saraflex from Germany, I'm not quite sure the use knits, but you can machine wind it on a bobbin set it on slow or you'll wrap it
Your shirt is really cute
