As in every Aquaponics video that I have watched I am always looking for advanced knowledge that is mostly missing in most of the videos. For example Failure modes of aquaponics and their remedies are at the top of why to watch list. Also any inspiration for design is always welcome. Also decoupled acuaponics is something very trendy atm and hardly any information about how to manage them.

Purchased a house with a tiled fish pond out the back, it was nice but was almost going to dig it out in to a pool. Since finding your channel I made a 4x2m bed that sits above the pond, my wife and I grow all sorts in there, it's great.
    Thank you Sir!

The thing that moved me to aquaponics and hydroponics was the ability to more scientifically control all factors in growing. Knowing exactly what is in the growing medium and able to control it much easier as opposed to soil with the added benefit of quicker harvest times due to constant nutrient availability. As well as, maximizing grow space by growing vertically, something that isn't practical in soil.
My goal is to build a commercial aquaponics farm, not only to help provide food for the ever growing market but also to have workshops on site and possibly even a van with an integrated hydroponics system to showcase for schools, to educate the next generation of farmers for a more sustainable future.

I have been studying Aquaponics as a small business for several years, wanting to start a small greenhouse local Agra-business.
I am a “Prepper” at heart and I also believe this business would be Great if the
“Economy “ goes south or crash’s.
I want to build an “off grid” fully self-contained / heated year round greenhouse business, including using heirloom seeds/plants, harvesting my own seeds etc.
    I like your content!!!
    Keep up the great work!!!
    Some suggestions might be...
    Commercial Vertical growing?
Solar panels powering water heaters in IBC totes around the perimeter walls thermally sound?
    Geo-thermal heating on the cheap?
Solar panels / batteries for extra after sunset led lighting?
Thermal blanket greenhouse systems for better thermal insulation in winter?
Bulk Heirloom Seed Storage, sound idea or a waste? 1 Year or even 2 year bulk supply?
    Greenhouse security?
    Keep up the Great Content!!!

I forgot to add.. what I would like to see more of is your addition of other nutrients added to the system to combat the usual imbalances in aquaponics. Which nutrients are better for foliar application as opposed to adding to the reservoir. Nutrients such as potassium, phosphorus and micronutrients like iron, zinc, calcium, etc.
Time lapses of different plants to explain growing cycles could also be easy content to make. Just an idea.

I have been doing organic farming for 40 years in an open field and have realized that with climate change this traditional method is in danger of extinction. I can no longer rely on rainfall to supply water, extreme temperatures both ways messing with the timing of planting and plant growth. So two years ago started to get into aquaponics and need to know much yet. Since I have moved to the city recently, I need to learn more about how to make it commercially viable in an urban setting to bring healthy veggies to city folk. I want to know more about how to utilize IoT technology and solar to run a system that does't rely on backbreaking work or utility companies supplying energy.

Having to move from soil to hydroponic, is simply more scientific for me. Keeping the ph balanced as well as the nutrients available to the plants can be difficult. I personally have a small hydro system and I love that the plants are growing at a faster pace. However, it’s much more difficult to keep everything in balance. Need your help. Water supply even though filtered from tap, has a high ph level. I checked with many hydroponic stores and they say it’s expected in the area to have 8.3 as normal…. Bringing that down is not too much of an issue it’s keeping it at 6.0 is my objective but is always within a few days drops to 4.5. So why is my hydro keep dropping its ph. Plants are tomatoes, peppers, eggplants with a few herbs. Hope this gives you some ideas and thanks.

We purchased 20 acres of land in Northern VA farm country to build our dream house and start a high density Aquaponic / Hydroponic / Bioponic "farmette" as called in these parts. We are just starting to clear the land an build the fencing and gates. It is a lot of work. I want it to be my transition into retirement farm business. We will start with one 35x100 high tunnel for aquaponics and hydroponics (greens and fruiting plants), some outside bio-ponic wicking beds for large footprint plants (mostly for ourselves - Broccoli, root crops, etc.), seasonal field crops (sweet corn and pumpkins), and an apple and pear orchard. The farm will develop out in small manageable phases starting with aquaponics and hydroponics in the high tunnel and re-investing the profits to grow over time. We hope to use it as an income to ease the transition to retirement, provide niche market and mainstream high quality local grown food for restaurants, farmers markets, and eventually build an educational center in cooperation with our local 4H and agro-organizations).

It's no where near boring. Something with multiple areas of study keeps it fun and interesting. I'd like to work for or start a worker's co-op in aquaponics. I needed something to help keep meaning in my life and something to work towards, but one step at a time. I currently work/volunteer at a couple of farms and my back is starting to hurt. lol
Some other issues in the back of my mind that I don't like to think about is aquaponics uses a lot less water, land, can be done in doors. (We might be able to do farming in abandon malls or buildings) And last but not least I'd like to see humanity build Vertical aquaponics skyscraper farms. I think that would be a really cool gem or societal goal to see accomplished. I think it might be hard, but not as hard as going to outer space, but can it be sustainable (or even farther) a closed loop system. There's an even bigger goal than that, but I can't wrap my head around it, its so big and complex. I like your videos so far. Well done. We' will see as a society where this aquaponics road takes us.

We have had an aquaponics system for 3 years and recently expanded our setup from a small basement system to a large greenhouse. I would like to see videos with things like troubleshooting why certain plants do well and others do not. For example, we have no trouble growing greens and tomatoes, but struggle to get cucumbers and beans past seedling stage. We successfully grew melons once, but now can't seem to get more going. What could we be doing wrong? I would also love to know where you source your containers for the produce you sell, how you label it, and how you market it.

I want to be independent. I don’t want to be dependent on anybody else. Food production would have to be a major part of that. However, to justify the amount of time in growing and maintaining a system to feed my family I might as well consider making it into a business.
Also the chemistry of how the whole thing works is interesting.

Here are my questions so far after watching many contents from you.
    1. Greenhouse environment. Is this a deal breaker? In our location during summer it can reach more than 38deg C. Low being 23 and high being 38. Do I need to put AC in the green house in this kind of environment?
    2. Do you have problem with water evaporation too much? I saw one video from other channel where they said it is not profitable for them because of the water evaporation.
    3. What is your electric consumption in kWH in your green house and what machines are running 24/7?
    4. What is your Water consumption?

My idea for fish was to grow tilapia and Australian Red Claw. The Red Claws are a fresh water lobster because of their size. I do have an important question. I really enjoy your videos and believe you are an excellent presenter and very knowledgeable. I like top feed but was unsuccessful with the emitters mist likely because of the pump pressure and sizing. I ended up with just 1/4" tubung and small 1/4 ball valves to limit and balance the flow. Can you please recommend a good bill of materiel on pump size, tubing, and the sticks you have that insert into the per lite? You probably don't do anything with shrimp. Thinking about doing them.. But I also have over 50 years of fresh water and marine fish experience Plus I know how to get fish to grow 5 to 6 inches a month! A lake bluegill does 5" a month and can get to 18" in diameter from top to down and end to end in one year! That is just body measurements no fins or tails in the 18" fish, the girth goes to like 4" wide!! Hybrids bluegills!~? I do not know how big they would get but they would have to be gigantic in size Like almost twice the size of the lake bluegills!!
Yes The fish grow massively big and powerful and healthy no getting sick~ With some rain water added and my food formula, that I can get in bulk.. You can get any fish to reproduce in captivity,
    I believe..
Bass & Walleyes do 6" a month. Them things turn into beasts of power! powerful monster fish that trash glass tanks!! They grow so fast you would want to do them in shipping containers
Because They can get scary nuts on you, and yes you still want to toss in minnows of live fish, for them fish eaters! I live in Wisconsin and we can buy them fish small and get it to work.
Big food fish around here with Walleyes, Perch and Bluegills to the fryers
Even most saltwater fish~ Some might need shipping containers to do it, in but Yes I believe I can get them to reproduce in the tanks also.. & it is all good to go!
I believe there is only three people on the planet that know what I know, and I am the only one that knows why it works~
Yes I have the Natural Hardness Minerals all figured out like no other~ I was thinking of doing BlackWater fish raising of lots of stuff! Even fishing minnows in shipping containers!
Also Cat fish & goldfish I think I can get 7 inches a month.. Fish grow really fast in the first year of their lives and slow way down after that, but will still keep on growing~slow..
Hit me up^ with on a comment, on here And it will go to my email so we can get to know each other better~ I would like that! I want to know more about the plants to grow if you have a few more of the best! ~? I seen you had some flowers there too!
I have a friend that is trying to get me a building.. He is an Architect and knows a lot of people.. Like that have buildings just sitting around! I want to have some fun~

I am new to Aquaponics and looking to build my first setup in the next year or so. I appreciate the creativity of aquaponics and how it seems there is a plethora of ways to achieve the same outcome, I’m interested in some of the core concepts and components and what makes it work. Not really looking for direct instructions to follow step by step. Your fish video was great but was lacking some visuals like a comparison bar graph showing the water temp compatibility. Stuff like that. Looking forward to learning more. I like this channel specifically cause I feel it has better production value. We’ll lit, mostly easy to hear and you speak clearly.

I’m originally from Eritrea, a country with max 2 months rain and it’s the main sours of 90% agriculture based population! This season the rain hasn’t start on time for seeding and people are worried and praying for rain ! I’m a Registered nurse and been on criss response the whole pandemic and got to help people ! I believe I can learn and open a facility in Eritrean and use that to teach others too ! I would love to learn the business aspect of it as well and would like to open a commercial facility one days ! So I appreciate all that you do and if you do have courses or classes , I’ll register to learn !

I’m in the planning process of a scalable aquaponics build. My goal is to build it as proof of concept to obtain funding that will enable me to create a community aquaponics farm to help feed the homeless and low income families. Your content is proving to be very useful in pushing me along towards my success.
