As a 30-something who struggles, going back to Linkin Park is both cathartic and liberating.

I've been a Linkin Park fan for a good year or so, and I find listening to this band's music incredibly cathartic for a variety of reasons. It helps me to really let myself experience my emotions and to make sense of them, and just in general I think that the band tackles a lot of issues that feel quite relatable to me, so listening to Linkin Park helps me regulate my emotions, I feel.
This particular song, aside from being a banger, helps me manage my feelings of frustration and anger at various things in my life and a lot of it feels quite relatable to me. This feeling of being unable to take it anymore, of wishing I could find a way to disappear, of feeling like everything I hear takes me one step closer to the edge and that I'm about to break, but most importantly, that feeling of wanting someone to just *SHUT THE FUCK UP*. My family often treats me as a doormat that they can do what they want with just because I'm a teen and younger than them, and they constantly feel entitled to be treated with reverence and for me to basically suck on their toes just because we happen to be blood related. I really wish I could scream at them to *shut up* as Chester does here, but I know that I'm just gonna get into deeper shit if I "talk back" so I don't and instead just do it vicariously through this song.
Linkin Park is my favourite band, so here are some more songs I'd recommend you to listen to:
    -"Crawling" (Hybrid Theory)
-"A place for my head" (Hybrid Theory)
    -"Breaking the habit" (Meteora)
    -"From the Inside" (Meteora)
    -"Given up" (Minutes to Midnight)
    -"Heavy" (One More Light)
-"One more light" (One More Light)
    -"Friendly Fire" (Papercuts)
    -"Lost" (Meteora)
    -"And One" (Hybrid Theory EP)
    -"Carousel" (Hybrid Theory EP)
Great reaction and insightful commentary. 🙂

I got this cd when I was like 10 or so me and my brothers were taken from our parents due to drugs and abuse this whole cd became a vital part in dealing with it all, going back to it now it’s strange how those emotions come back like a flood, I’m currently struggling with mental health issues namely depression and suicidal ideation (something I’ve struggled with on and off my whole life) but this cds always there to be a sort of outlet in a way, but it’s strange how it helps and seems to hurt also, almost like a return to self in the pain in a sense

While Chester and Mike were writing this song they were both getting mad at their producer Don Gilmore. He had them rewrite some of their songs several times.
The director for this music video was an adult film (p*rn) director. It was their first music video. Chester hated hanging upside down. Mike didn't like his hair (bright red).
