The Nexuiz version shown is the new Nexuiz based on the CryEngine3...the old Nexuiz was build with a quake engine but was visually far less impressive than what can be seen here.
Maybe I missed something but, I didn't see Star Trek: Voyager: Elite Force, on here. That one used the Quake engine, and is a surprisingly good Star Trek game.
I first played Quake 2 on the Gateway back in 2000. This game tops it all. I later played Quake 3 Arena and that blew me away. I also enjoy playing different characters and variety of weapons. I later played Quake 4 on Xbox 360. Now I want to go back and play the first Quake on Xbox One.
@@pocketstationman6364 I was going to say off the back of the Crazy Pills bottle, but there's this: forum.beyond3d.com/threads/re2s-engine-a-modified-quake-engine.49531/
@@edherdman9973 Hmm... Maybe it has GoldSrc elements in the PC and DC versions but personally I don't really see this type of game running on just id Tech 2 or GoldSrc.
That Nexuiz video is incorrect. Nexuiz the mod was running on darkplaces variation of Q1 engine. Nexuiz in the video was a commercial release in 2012 that was running on CryEngine.
Playing Quake1 with bilinear filtering is just disgusting, also GLQuake sux (because no full-bright colors). Either QSS-something with nearest-mip-nearest, or just WinQuake.

Was about to say that looked better than anything made in the modern day
8:25 I think that is the Cryengine version that came out in 2012...

I cant for the love of god save my game, it just sends me to the title screen
ST VOY the videogame used the Quake 3 engine and, for some strange reason, this engine isn't present on this video... The game is very underrated.
They are also missing Half Life, Counterstrike and Star Wars Jedi Knight 2&3
Sorry but where is Quake 3 (1999) and Quake Live (2009) ?
You must be dumb, because those didnt use Quake Engine. Q3 used Quake 3 Engine, and Quake Live is different. Youre fucking dumb
@@oliverb.8995 lol. In the video you can see quake 2 engine games. Love you too buddy.)
I've played every one of these but Eternal War and a couple of the Blendo games. Fun, fun.

Fun fact, the OG resident evil games were on QE too
Really? Where did you read this?

@@pocketstationman6364 Maybe the pre-rendered backgrounds helped free up some room for the more advanced 3d character interactions/animations?
@@FoxUnitNell That has more to do with how much detail the backgrounds needed to have.

kingpin life of crime was ahead of its time
It is the GTA before GTA even made bad language in 3D games popular, same with Duke Nukem 3D.
You forgot Xonotic and the Star Trek games
Malice was awesome, great gameplay, great music.
In an evolution video strange to see it being played presumably in software on a 286
you forgot half life
Half Life uses a modified version of the Quake engine
@@fckgooogle1000x it's still the same thing
SSG MAGESTY Kinda different though in some terms
@@fckgooogle1000x this video includes modified quake engines, did you even watch it?
@@theoneTMoney Yes I did watch the video.
Doesn't Quake Engine ends after Quake 2? Quake 3 Engine is an all different engine after all.
Laser Arena is dope
Where is Half Life it is modifed quake 1 engine but, after all still it is :)
Unreal Gold?
Why do you have so little activity on the channel?
Where is codered game?
You forgot call of duty
The whole Q3 branch of games has been left out. Its a bit of a mess tbh.

Yeah, sucks in a good way (Reminder: When you say a bad word, it automatically says "good" before the bad word)
I need a quake remaster
We all need a Quake Remaster
You got one
Its relesed now
