I made this for dinner this evening. They were quite good. I used "blackened" old bay and it added a kick of cayenne in the mix. The remoulade was a nice accompaniment. I will make the one last crab cake for lunch tomorrow. Thanks for a nice recipe.

So excited for the new cookbook! My soy sensitivity has crossed into a chickpea sensitivity, so now I can’t have chickpeas. Could I double the hearts of palm, or maybe substitute some kind of white beans?

Let’s see I would try some white beans you may need to add more bread crumbs because they are more watery than chickpeas but I think they should work! And thank you for your kind words 💕

Yum! I will definitely be making these! When I make patties like that, I use an ice cream scoop with the lever I think it's easier than a measuring cup. I'm so excited for your cookbook. I plan to start the meal plan on July 10th lol.

The publisher isn’t the one who provides that, it’s another company and they did that for my last book on Amazon…if you go to my listing there’s a spiral bound option, I imagine they will do that for the new one as well:)

I always sub silken tofu for cashews with no problem in sauce recipes. And green olives work fine as sub for capers too. I'm going to try this and also add in some Old Bay seasoning. Thanks for the recipe!
That is a great suggestion to use silken tofu! I have capers but no cashews.

To my vegan friends: never forget: eat low fat, low salt and eat healthy carbs and lots of fruits and vegetables. Red meat will give you a heart attack and so will unsaturated fats.
To my carnivore friends: the truth is for us to known for them to find out.

there is no crab in it. why call it crab cakes?
So that's those of us that can't or won't eat seafood know what it will taste like. It's a substitute. If we didn't call things what they are adjacent to in the meat eating world we would literally call everything chickpea mash or jackfruit mash, or soy curl dish, or tvp pasta. It's confusing, this is just what the recipe is like so it's honestly easier and convenient to call it crab cakes. I've always wanted to try crab cakes but couldn't and now I have a recipe I can make for myself when my family eats crab cakes and that's really great for me and others like me
