I am a scrub nurse in trauma and I really love it because I mostly finish 1.5 to 2hrs before my shift ends, the only thing I dislike is wearing lead sometimes for hours
Those things are heavy😭
Good thing is after the X-ray we can take it off.
But it does help if it’s cold🤣🤣🤣

I'm literally about to begin nursing school but I have a feeling anesthesia is a field I'd love. I find it quite fascinating😩🔥. Nurse Deo, are nurses in the UK allowed to have make-up and acrylic nails for work? Can one also have her long frontal wig or braids untied at work?😉
Makeup and short acrylic nails with minimal colors are allowed
Frontal wigs and untied hair you can do that in the wards and other units but because I work in theatre I have to wear scrub caps due to infection control.

I’m just curious, they were suspended for filming during their breaks, before start of shift and close of shifts? And no patient information or confidential information was shared???
I mean most Trust value confidentiality. I know u shared no patient information, but to the best of my knowledge, filming or recording in uniform , while at work , or even taking public transport in uniform is against the NMC code of conduct. I know many people do it , but sometimes all they need is one person to serve as a lesson to others .

It's not about the hospital being "okay", it's about the code and conduct of the Nursing and Midwifery Council. It is bad work ethic to film videos at your workplace. You're there to work, not make film. I get that people find this content useful but it is actually very disrespectful to film in a hospital. I find it really worrying that so many people are doing this, I've seen videos from care workers too in people's homes.
It needs to stop.
