I recently got an 03 325i with 145k miles and plan on doing a small tune up soon, picked up valvoline high mileage full synthetic oil, wix synthetic oil filter, K&N air filter and ngk iridium ix plugs so far. This will help a lot thnx.
Jacob Weimer Well went pretty good but I didn’t find out till after that valvoline full synthetic isn’t really approved by bmw hopefully that’s not a big problem and those ngk iridium plugs were quite different looking then the bmw ones I took out.
Baird Carver it’s an older car and it’s full synthetic it shouldn’t matter too much , I’ve used Castrol , Mobil and valvoline just no cheaper oil . When I change my oil soon I’ll be picking which one I like most. So far I’m thinking of going castrol all the way but yeah well see soon
I believe the spark plugs I used were NGK laser double platinum, I’m currently out of down but I can let you know which ones I changed mine to on Sunday night or Monday
Jacob Weimer I went back and showed auto parts store what plugs came out of the car and then they gave me some ngk double platinum laser plugs specifically for BMW, don’t know why they didn’t give me those the first time 🤦♂️
Did you start it up after to roll it down the driveway before you checked the oil? Or did you do it cold because won’t it read higher when it’s cold? Please let me know thank you
I just put what is recommended for the car and turn it on. I move it to a place I can check the car with it leveled out and then turn off. Then I check the level. Add to correct if needed
you can look up how much oil your car takes with or without the oil filter, without you would just need to fill up enough run it and than top it off basically.
