    Let's all do a Caribbean Tour! We have been wanting to make it past Bahamas as well.

    I usually un-subscribe a channel when the build/refurbish/repairs are finished and the sailing begins. (I like watching others work)
    But you guys do such a great job with your video production, I'm still here enjoying your adventure.

      That's really cool to hear, Ken. That's sort of the opposite from the majority, I would think, but glad to know it.

    Long time subscriber. Tighten the halyard on your staysail to remove the scallops along the luff of the sail.

      I don’t know. Sounds pretty technical.
      Can you send me a video demonstration?

    Fishing setup should work great. Maybe a small bell would rattle well enough.

    Just realized how vitally essential an auto pilot is to a solo sailor! Can you recommend a brand for wheel steering? Take Care

    Thanks for another great video. I have mentioned this before, so I am sure it's being very repetitive (and I will not mention it again), but I can't believe your channel is only showing 29.8K subscribers. RUclips has got to be doing something wrong with its algorithms for your channel. Enough said on my part. Again, great video and a great channel.

    • @Sailboatstory
      @Sailboatstory  Год назад +1

      The repetition does not bother us at all. Please continue. It makes us feel good that there are people out there other than ourselves that think we should have far more subscribers for the quality of our videos and the amount of work we've put into our channel over the years.

    CPT has an accessory called the belt tensioner that creates a good wrap around the drive pulley (3 o clock to 9 o clock) that enables the pilot to perform well without having to honk on the belt tension. It's easy on the sheer pins. I never had to use any of my spare pins after fitting that part.

      We've got one. There's a slight interference problem with it that I haven't figured out, but I need to.

    If you havent got your chainplates yet the get Garhauer, they custom make at a cheaper price than most

    Your staysail needs more luff tension. Another turn or two on the halyard winch will do it.

    @5:20 i couldn't see, but did you have a metal leader from your hook to your nylon line? they help to protect your line from getting bit through by the fish, there-by helping you keep said fish :-)

    • @Sailboatstory
      @Sailboatstory  Год назад

      We have a pile of wire leaders, but I don't think I used one at that point.

    I like to get a big thick rubber band to put on the end of the bungee for the hand line and then secure the rubber band to the boat. When a fish hits the hand line, it breaks the rubber band which alerts me when there is Fish On. Fishing with a handline is almost cheating it’s pretty easy to pull them in.
