Wahoo!! Congratulations on top surgery, I hope you've been feeling and healing well
The Martian bored me too! I'm glad I'm not alone with that thought, it seems most people love the book other than me

Congrats on your top surgery! I’m so glad you got it! And I’m also jealous! I’ve been wanting to watch Sick of Myself, but I’ll probably have to wait until it is streaming. I recently read A Touch of Jen and I liked it a lot. But now I’m reading Big Swiss per your recommendation! And I’m LOVING it so far! The Woman Destroyed is also on my radar, so perhaps I will read that next…. Anyways, best wishes on your recovery! I hope you can lift your arms up soon!

Congratulations on your top surgery! I am so glad to see that you are making the forward progress to becoming the person that you are. The post-procedure is going to be worth it! There is nothing to be sorry about. I started reading She Came to Stay by Simone de Beauvoir, but never got around to picking it up again or finishing it. I need to change that sooner rather than later. I may have heard of If This is a Man from another Booktuber, but I definitely heard about Primo Levi and need to look into his writing. Perhaps this would be one that is worth reading. I own Life of Pi and need to read it at some point. I did read The Martian and was not really bored by it. I thought it was honestly approached and I felt Andy Weir was the right person to write that book. The technical aspects were necessary in my mind. I would say that I would read Leo Tolstoy for fun if he was someone I felt like reading at any given time. I was gifted War and Peace and bought a copy of Anna Karenina. Tour de Trans is such a creative concept. It reminds me of Travels With Charley but with a trans man. If Spring was set below the equator, then I can see it being set in September, but Ali Smith is Scottish, so it would make more sense for Autumn to be set in September. Thank you for sharing and I hope you have a great month in May! -Josh

thanks so much!! i admire the andy weir for the amount of research, that book truly is a feat in its own way, but the topic just didn't interest me in the slightest, so that didn't help. spring is very british indeed so it was a choice lol, but it's very good otherwise!

It's my pleasure! Not being interested in the subject matter at hand does have an impact on how you perceive a particular work, which is understandable. It was an interesting choice to set Spring as it was set...

"i just want you to like this video with your heart" 🥰 yeah sigh the powers that be at youtube keep everything so freaking nebulous and vague of course so i think everyone is always kinda unclear on whether things like hitting the like button *actually* make a difference. but suppooooosedly the idea is that all types of engagement (when people hit the like button, when people leave comments, when people use the share button to send the link to other viewers or share on socials) all of that supposedly tells the algorithm that this is a video that it should pick up and show to others because people are eNgAGiNg cuz of course the ultimate goal of the robot overlords is to KEEP PEOPLE ON THE SITE for as long as possible and viewers who are engaging are viewers who will keep watching. meh, who knows. one of these days i'm gonna make a video about all the little tips like that that i've heard discussed among small youtubers so maybe it can be a helpful resource and a place for everyone to discuss stuff like that in the comments. we shall seeeeeee, whoot for the small youtuber journey!
