Great video! I have a 2012 2.0 Q5 that will sometimes start and other times just crank over, I have a new alternator, battery and fuel pump however the car will only prime the fuel pump and turn on 1/3rd of the time. Therefore leading me to believe I have a bad module, do you think this is the case? Car will also stall a lot sometimes, and also there is no programming needed for these modules right? Thank you so much!
@@motorcarnut Thank you! I will try to locate this part and Change it out since the q5’s will probably look a little different, will let you know how it goes.
@@motorcarnut Thank you for your replies. I actually have a 2019 Audi Q3 and since I can't find many details on the Q3 the Tiguan is its closest sibling. My Audi will stall while at a stop light then it will turn over but doesn't start. After 15-20 of letting it sit it will start right up. My scan tool reads a fuel error. Do you have any experience with this?
Hey, i'm having a super sporadic missfire on all cylinders and noticed I had a 01259 code after scanning it. Any idea / guidance on testing the wires for continuity if the fuel pump control module doesn't do it?. Also is there one on each side of the car or only on the passenger side? Thanks for posting this!
Your'e welcome!. Check fuel pump relay J17 and the wiring to and from the relay. Best bet is to find wiring diagram for your particular year and model.
Hey thanks for the video, is that cable replaceable? The one you connect to the module you pulled out? I have some cuts on the plug right underneath the black cover above the fuel pump
thank you for this video. I have Audi q7 2011 V6 supercharge. My car work normal after 30 minutes to one hour of driving engine shut down and it’s not able to to start the engine again I have to wait three or four hours. I change the fuel pomb, but still I have the same same issue . do you think if I change the fuel pump control this issue gonna fix
I don’t like guessing but the module is known for that problem. So if you don’t have the proper equipment to diagnose the problem you can try replacing it.
I replaced the module on my vw tiguan because the gas meter was working I figured the pump still works but the gauge doesn't but it didn't do anything still the gaugr isn't working so no I will be removing the fuel pump to see if that is the gauge issue.
Hi friend! Greetings from Brazil and thanks so much for the video. Have a question... My tiguan has this green part (5n0906093b). If I replace it with the most current blue one (5n0906093c) will it work?
I am trying to replace the Fuel Pump Control Module on a 2016 Tiguan TSI I have followed all of your instructions to this point but the module seems to be mounted further away from the opening than yours was by an inch or so. Do you have any recommendations, do I need to pull the tank or is it just a matter of buying a longer wider screwdriver or other tool? I appreciate your help.
Great video! I have a 2011 Golf gti with P0087 intermitent , no check engine light on the dash, only appears the error with vagcom and its intermitent, it happen when i push the throttle all the way and only when the car hits high rpm (like 5500rpm) cut power, the starts and de normal drivin are perfect without issues , only happen in high rpm, and the P0087 error appears, i have stage 2 but i've been on stage 2 for a while and nothing bad happened, the car started doing this 2 weeks ago for no reason. Any thoughts on what could cause this?
Could be a number of things related to the fuel pressure. Can be a failing pressure regulator or a wiring problem. Fuel pump screen dirty or this module.
Hi, i have a 2010 audi a5 2.0 tfsi quattro. I recently turned off the stop start feature with my obd11 but turned it back on after the following problems, although i don't have the symbol showing on the dash like it used to. When driving and up to temp my revs drop for a split second and on a few occasions when coming to a stop but still moving slowly the engine turns off and i get a message saying stop start deactivated- press key to start. I have 2 engine codes p008800 and p032200. After reading I'm thinking crankshaft position sensor? Any suggestions pls? Could it be just a low battery?
Why did you mess with the start stop function? Who’s knows what you did? You can mess things up if you don’t know what you’re doing. Charge battery delete all codes and try again
Hi my car won't start or start roughly then dies after worm, if I drive a while the try to restart again, I have replaced the HPFP but still same issue, and no codes stored in the ecu can you guide me I have 2.0 tsi 4 motion tiguan 2013
What are the symptoms of a bad fuel control module? ruclips.net/video/OcpsRUkQtLc/видео.html I replaced mine with a used one but still have the same issue. How can I test the model?
@@motorcarnut Thanks for asking! The car starts easily, drives fine until warmed up. Then dies, as in video, still has headlights and radio. Try to restart by tuning key, absolutely nothing. No dashboard lights, no clicks or chimes. After about 4 mins, while key in on position, all dashboard lights come back on, fuel pump engages and car restarts easily. Then after a mothers 3-5min, it shuts off again. No check engine light or trouble codes - cleaned battery terminals - checked low fuel pressure - inspected HPFP - swapped fuel pump control module with used one Still no luck. To me it sounds like an electrical problem or relay that controls the ecm. Unfortunately these problems are not always easy to find without the proper tools and techniques as well as knowledge. You can try and get the wiring diagram of the ecms power and ground flow and see what relays are powering the computer and replace them. I say relays and not fuse’s because fuse’s won’t be intermittent.
Excellent instructional video. Factory information does not explain a removal procedure. You did a great job thank you.
Thank you ! Much appreciated!
2 great video about the tiguan fuel system. Subbed. Many thansk!

You have to start there with a fuel pressure check, could be a high pressure fuel pump problem.

Does that fuel pump module cause hard cranking or may not even start or whilst driving the car cut off and sometimes check engine will apear
Yes, those are the symptoms.

I don’t think it’s necessary to take the tank down for this, try a longer tool. I never had problems.

Sounds like a faulty fuel sending unit, bad wiring or faulty instrument cluster. Any codes coming up?

Yes, check what I told you, sounds like something loose and going bad.
Warning those plastic clips are nearly impossible to get😂
Be care not to break them then.
