  • Jobs jobs jobs… Ever since I got a job, I have been pretty much completely engulfed with the job, and life in general, which ended up putting this project aside :( BUT I’M BACK!! To be honest, this one isn’t exactly one of my most proudest videos, because... I kept coming and going and I left out a lot of things I want to cover.. BUT THAT’S FINE! I will re-visit this one day and make it way better. Now that I’m back and raring to go, expect more videos to come out!... Soon! (They take a really long time… but next one’s gonna be short and sweet)
    Everything, created from scratch by yours truly, Jeff (Which means every single table, item, etc. EVERYTHING!) And it takes hella long too :'(

    Can you do an in depth coffee chat tutorial

    • @thegamifiedlife
      @thegamifiedlife  2 года назад +1

      Hey frost, it’ll probably be a long time before I get around to making a video on coffee chats, so instead let me just write u some tips off the top of my head…:
      1) do your research - understand as much as u can about the company ur looking at, check their company website, who you are talking to and their experiences on LinkedIn, learn as much as possible before going in with questions. Best to prepare them beforehand!
      2) be curious - you should aim to learn in coffee chats and when you do, they will see you are eager to know more! Also everyone loves seems to love sharing knowledge so use that to your advantage :) Ask about their day to day job, why they do what they do, etc. asking open ended questions and following along with your own views and comments when possible.
      3) if conversation went well, ask about opportunities, (or sneak them in mid way through with hints of what ur strengths are… or what u want to do) you could say you saw something on their job board and wanted to know if there is someone who you can talk to to learn more, lots of the time, they would be happy to refer you if you have put down a good impression!
      Keep in mind, this is mostly for getting your foot in the first step, next is the interviews and the hurdles those represent.
      If you want to talk a little more about this, feel free to reach out somewhere on my social media :D be glad to go more in-depth! Good luck my friend!

      @@thegamifiedlife hey those are some really good things. I liked the third tip most.
      Sneakely tell them on what my skills are. If we have enough raport, he/she will at least remember me with that skill and that's an opportunity for future right there.
      Although, what I wanted to know is how to invite someone in a company for coffee when you have graduation accomplishment

      @@frost9019 Ahh, congratulations on your wonderful achievement!! What field/career path are you aiming for now?
      How I did it before was I would send them a message on linkedin/add them as a connection with a note! You could also try sending emails as well. Another great alternative is to go to networking events, bring 3-5 business cards and be sure you know who it is you are meeting (do your research again). then ask for coffee!
      Be sure to do a follow up email for all the methods after a few days have passed because sometimes it could have just been lost in the dust. +after it is over, be sure to thank them as well! When I was trying to get my first job, ended up getting all sorts of interesting coffee chats, take it as a fun conversation and you'll get to places.
      Good luck! :D

    Sorry, but the voice is boring and the tinny music is irritating
