I watched and read other tutorials on how to do this, but everyone forgot to mention the importance of the dates needing to be filled out to show up as a promotion correctly. This was very helpful, thank you. The only confusion I have now is that LinkedIn recently updated the notification to be automated, so users now have to wait 2 or more hours for your network to be notified of your promotion. This is confusing because there is no prompt to share a post about your new promotion.

I agree, this can get confusing. That’s why I recommend just creating a new post once you add the new promotion, so you can “announce” it in real time

Finally someone got this done correctly. multiple videos told me modify the current position vs adding a new one like Cindy explains. Cindy well done video! Only thing I chose not to do was notify the network, dont need to blast the business out there unless I was marketing myself.

Yes, when you add your new job to your profile you can toggle the “share with network” button ON and it will notify your network

It might be your current position has already ended OR you have no work experience listed in your experience section? Not too sure.
