    A fix for the Segway Ninebot internal battery, that has no power and won't switch on using just a piece of wire!

    One thing to try before disassembling it for the full fix, is to fiddle with the brake when you plug the charger in. I was given an older, unused one that also wouldn’t charge, and did so and, to my excitement and surprise, it charged fully!!! 🎉
    I’m thankful for this information too because the other one is completely defective, including a screen that only beeps when being turned on, so I’ll likely need this as well.

Would you happen to know how to fix this error?

  • @tanguydelooz2881
    @tanguydelooz2881 Год назад

    I tried this on my ES1. The first step (jump) worked (although the battery was flashing both the red and blue light at the same time). However for the second step, the battery only flashed the red light 4 times and then nothing and the charger was on green light and the I couldn't turn on the display of the steering. After both steps, I measured 14.5V on the battery (instead of the nominal 36V).
    (My ES1 hasn't worked for a couple years now and originally I had error code 23 or 21, not sure which. I didn't know this trick back then.) So much for so little use. It's a shame.

    • @Escooterbitz
      @Escooterbitz  Год назад +1

    • @Escooterbitz
      @Escooterbitz  Год назад +1

      @@tanguydelooz2881 Yes it won't do anything at that voltage, jumping the negative bypasses the bms to try and bring the cells up to a high enough voltage for it to work normally again. I would try leaving it longer but as I say in the video do not leave it unattended and stop immediately if you feel any part of it getting very hot. 14.5v is very low so likely that the cells will not recover or that some groups have failed and others are active. But worth a try, good luck

    The internal battery was not showing any light and it was dead. I used this method and it started charging the battery. The light on the charger was solid red while charging with the jump cable and the light on the battery was flashing red while it was charging. I left it like this for 35 minutes and disconnected it and then tried to charge it the normal way without the jumper cable like you showed in your video after 30 minutes, and it did not charge. The light on the charger stayed green and the battery had a flashing blue light, not red. I connected everything together on the scooter including the dashboard and it came on but still wouldn't charge through the port. I was getting error code 45 and the phone app was telling me I should replace the battery even though it was charging with the jumper cables. The app on my phone said I had 40% charge, but I'm only able to charge the battery with the jumper cable outside of the scooter. What should I do? If I charge it to full with the jumper cable, will I then be able to charge it normally or do I need to hit the reset button on the battery?

    Just tried on an ES2 that was sitting in the garage for 1 year. First the battery light flashed red and the charger flashed green/red(trickle charging) so I left it about an hour, and finally the charger turned red. Battery light was still flashing red. I let it keep charging overnight and until the charger light was green in the morning, but the battery light was off, not flashing red or blue, just off. I tried removing the jumper and reassembling to charge normally but nothing. So I put the jumper back on to try to 'wake' the battery again and the battery light flashed red 3-4 times then I smelled the electrical smoke smell and the light on the battery went off. After 40 min o plug It in and hot the charge flashing red and green. Like If It is charging and not... Bit Theo battery flashes BLUE when not connect

    • @Escooterbitz

      Battery flashing blue is good. The charger going red/green normally means voltage is still low but is trickle charging. Wait and it will hopefully go red and then leave for a full charge.

      @@Escooterbitz yes. I left It overnight and in the morning It was fully charged and now is running and charging normally or almost because after I use I put it to charge and It charges backward... Then I unplugee and wait some minutes and I try again and It charges normally. Strange.

      I have the same reaction. But... Did you connect everything? Motor and display? When I did not connect one of theese things, charger LED change from Red (short time) to green. And when all parts were connected together it starts normal charging

    Hi please advise,
    4pin socket connect to black or negative correct? Then jumper to negative also or to positive (the 2 pin)
    So that is connecting minus to minus or minus to plus ?

      @Escooterbitz okay i did that but the battery stays solid blue and charger whent to solid green nothing else happens the scooter display won't turn on either when i plug it into the control board

      @@subliminalhobo The next step would be to reset the battery by pressing the reset button on the bms.
      That means removing the black silicone at the connector end and unscrewing to access bms.
      If that doesn't cure it then possibly bad cells and best to swap battery unless you are able to properly repair.

      @Escooterbitz can these batteries be used safely if they are out of balance? I only know they are out of balance because i installed the "nine dash" app and it shows it on there. The battery powers the scooter and i can ride it etc... but im just nervous about using it.

    • @Escooterbitz
      @Escooterbitz  Год назад

      @@subliminalhobo the Bms is still active and will try to equalise and shut it down if too far out of balance. Some tolerance is allowed so if it's running you should be good but defective cells will probably continue to deteriorate

      I left mine charge for about an hour with the red solid light on the charger, and the battery light blinking red. After I reassembled it, the chargers light was blinking red and green. So I took it apart and did the wire jumping and it was charging solid red again. Did you do the same thing as me?

      Hello, I can make a video when I get some time. But remove all screws from the post. Looking down both ends you will see plastic covers that have a notch in them with cables coming through. Use a screwdriver or similar to spin the covers to line up notches with rail on inside of the tube. Then the battery and controller are loose, you can shake and the will release.

    Hi, I have a very similar situation however my battery is showing v low voltage and yet still continues to flash red, I was told that my battery could potentially be asleep wich I see your method here would rectify however I'm apprehensive to attempt given the battery still flashes red ..could I have a dead cell ? And if that were the case, would the battery still flash red ? I am yet to see a blue light at all, any help would be appreciated 🫠
