If Messi had scored, there’s no guarantee that psg would have scored another (momentum is everything in football). PSG were done even if they had a 5-0 lead going into the second game. The defence lost its head at the most crucial stage of the game. Can’t really blame it on the attackers

Henry was always my idol growing up. His words here show his class, Messi even at 34 is still the best passer in the world and could easily play in a goalscoring position, but why destroy his body when you have Mbappe to pass to? Yea. NGL I watched the sports chanel and it showed how shit he was. But that was what they highlighted the most. It wasnt until this video that I realized he was still making the same playmakes he usually has to offer. And even if it was not brilliant it was enough to keep hold of possession. The greatest to ever do it still along with ronaldo (cr7) and its pretty impressive with their consistency.

5 games in UCL: 4 goals and 4 assists
At the World Cup:
7 games - 7 goals 3 assists, Player of the Tournament and World Champion. Could have had twice the number of assists fairly straightforwardly if his teammates, especially Lautaro Martinez, converted some of the good/excellent chances he created for them.

The crossbar and poch were the two of the biggest obstacles for him this season...
He still hits the cross bar in his previous seasons but that never stopped him. Given the bar he set for everyone including Cr7 himself,this shouldn't be an excuse for someone many deem the greatest player to ever play the game. Apart from his own class of play this season was great. A different game different teammates where you don't get the ball that often even when there is a greater chance of goals Messi still managed 20+ G/A starting the season late being injured and among the corona struggles. Apart from goals he was still producing output in other parts of the game. No matter what he is probably the best that ever played the game.
