I'm a hobby aerialist and the scariest part of this was definitely the whole "just rig from a bridge real quick" bit. Yikes! I really hope a lot of careful rigging happened behind the scenes and it just looked casual and quick due to editing.
Considering there were cops all over probably not 😅
i do aerial silks!!!
I know thank good she only did an aerial split
I’m guessing that they have practiced rigging their equipment quickly.
@@kirraandersonnn me too
I’m from NYC and I’m shocked they were able to do so much without getting in REAL trouble. The NYPD don’t play but that bottle shot was INSANE!!!😱
Nyc here too. To me it looks like early lockdown when it was an absolute ghost town.
Yup. In the sequel the dancer is going to shoot the photographer sitting on that same bottle.
I have family who are NYPD I kept hoping one of them would have shown up, tapping the photographer on the shoulder and stopping that dangerous shoot. We worked in Emergency Services the" end point" of thoughtless photographers, like this one. All the photos in the world don't pay for broken bones, snapped ligaments, torn tendons........
I live in Manhattan too and I felt the opposite I feel people can get away with a lot here lol there’s so much crazy stuff always going on
@@danielleperez3516 I agree. I guess NYPD can’t be everywhere at once. Lol
As a dance photographer, of course I love Jordan's work but I feel like he's not thinking about the efforts and risks dancers are taking. I LOVE to get a "wow" shot but if my models risk an injury, I would always find another way to make it safer. Dancers can't risk an injury just for a photoshoot ..
agreed
@@Rythm123 agreed also
he's been working with richard and ashlee for a while...so they probably have that relationship where they know each others limits and such....
and i think that jordan's daughter is a gymnast of ballerina???
@@Butterflier00 of course he knows them but the purpose of the video is to do as much dangerous things as possible, it's definitely not my philosophy. And yes, his daughter is a gymnast
There have been other videos where a dancer told him she didn't feel comfortable doing a particular shot and they just moved on. He didn't pressure them into doing the shot. He just moved on to another shot.
Those two have more talent in their left pinkie toes than I do in my whole body.
If I’m wrong just ignore me but if that a reference the The Medoran Chronicles in Draekora?
Literally.
@lazybee I hope it is 🤞🏻🤞🏻
There are more talents in this world than just the ones that can be performed and displayed. Listening is a talent. Showing compassion is a talent. Principled leadership is a talent. And on and on. You have talent. Find it and expand it -- you'll be surprised. 🙂
Are we talking about the talent for seeking attention here?
Seriously both ballerinas are so so talented. I think the photographer went way too far. It’s like he isn’t even thinking just a millimetre out and a career could have been ruined just for a photo.
Jordan never makes anyone he works with ever do anything they don’t feel comfortable with, and he only asked the people in the video to do these things cause he knew they could do them. He’s said in many videos that he would never make a dancer or anyone do anything they weren’t comfortable with.
That is his WHOLE channel so…
Exactly
There is a ton of scaffolding in NYC and it stays up for YEARS AND YEARS at a time. It's a thing. Not a fun thing, but a thing. Only saving grace is when it rains, if you know your area's scaffold-stats, you can plan your path so you get minimal drippage under maximum scaffoldage.
One other thing about NYC (and yes, most of us are nice, if you ask us politely), is how people are just walking by while all this is going on. It's a NY thing. ;)
Ahahah im a new yorker and this is accurate
Not from NYC but visit family there... and if something strange isn't happening in your periphery, is it even NYC?
@@Chaotic_Pixie I'm from NYC and can confirm lol
The most impressive is the en pointe on top of the bottle 👏
The most beautiful shot was on the bridge with the red lamppost, just wow 🤩
Ashlee made everything look everything look so effortless! 🤯 her feet!!! No words to describe it!
How about this? "Bad idea".
@@Bill-tz3wg terrible idea 😖 but still beautiful
@@carinam4258 Kinda like the idea of giving birth from Kris Jenner's perspective back in the day.
Your theory about a photographer needing to be fun and likeable and charismatic (@8:09) are 100% true. I'm a big hairy programmer tech guy, and I worked with a very pretty lady artist many years ago, and at a company holiday party, I went around taking group photos at all the tables (Cheesecake Factory), and so did she, and our photos were night and day different. In hers, everyone has a big smile, thumbs up, laughing, waving... In mine, everyone's either emotionless, or has a "whaaat?" face like I woke them up for the photo. It was crazy going through photo after photo from each of us, and all of hers look like the party of the year, and all of mine look like a funeral, or a drug bust. Who the photographer is matters a *lot*.
A whole story dor only 13 likes👍

@@jaelcamilleri8170 , I see we found our Gen Z
His photos are beautiful, but his videos kind of stress me out with the timing, shouting and getting chased away from places.
The way she rolls through her foot onto pointe is simply gorgeous!
He's talented, I admit. However I think he only cares about that 'perfect' shot and not the dangers the dancers are taking. There's a lot of dangerous poses that they have to do and if they were to fall it might cut their promising careers short. Though I hope that I don't have to be so worried because I'm sure the dancers know what they are doing.
I’ve seen a few comments that talk about the kind of rushed/not safe aspects being staged, so I hope that’s true.
If the performers aren’t in danger, then I just have a problem with him inconveniencing strangers on the street. I’m from LA and it is so rude when photographers and videographers do that.
@@athenarocks7657 Oh nah New Yorkers are used to navigating around film shoots.
@gretabruzzo7062 once a scene for law and order was filmed at my sister's school
Jordan will respect the wishes of the performers if they decide to say no to a pose or stunt, and after that it's really up to the dancers to know their limits here.
Bro r u dumb they’re professionals plus if they say they can’t do it Jordan wont make them do it and I’m pretty sure that the girl did WAYYY crazier stuff
I absolutely love how he asks consent before he touches anyone or anything. Excellent example for everyone! Consent matters.
Why do I feel like her reacting to it is giving her a semi heart attack for all the scary stunts :)
I remember seeing this video. NYC should commission him to do shoots promoting the reopening of things like Broadway. I mean, come on, you said it yourself. NYC is one of the most photogenic cities in the world.
Absolutely. Even after 9/11.

I totally thought her balancing on the bottle was photoshopped/clickbait - OMG - really mind blown! Super talented people out there - great photography, great athletes, great great great great great....
she's posted videos on her insta of her balancing on wine bottles, shot glasses, and tequila bottles.
she's a pro.
@@Butterflier00 so incredible to watch that kind of talent - thanks for letting me know - all the best!

I am in total awe of Ashlee, she’s mind bogglingly amazing! Beautiful, strong, talented and elegant all in one package.
I love your reaction videos. They seem authentic, with a natural comic timing whilst being so informative and educating the public -in general especially in the fitting videos. And the fact that you appear to be exactly where u are, doing the job you do and seem happy about it all.
If I am really worried or in a bad mood, a couple of your videos help to cheer me up. I thought you should know that and am sending some general well wishes, thank yous, and I am sending you some cyber love and hugs. X
I loved this, Josephine! I have seen many of Jordan Matter's videos. He definitely pushes the envelope.
See-the first set up had u going from cautious to scared, to OMG it's in the middle of the road, to aww, she has really pretty feet, to oh that's beautiful to hysterical laughter seeing the guys talk. That's impressive 😁💖
Josephine, you should watch one of his videos done in the subway with Ashlee and Richard. I adore your reaction videos! You’re so much fun to watch!
Oh that one where they were trying to get as many good photographs as possible in a specific timeframe? I remember being concerned someone would get hurt that time too but I guess if they're game...
@@andream9470 that’s the one! Crazy, huh? Working around all the people and trying to avoid the cops 😁

Me: shigaraki who?!
I just wanted to say that I just found your channel and i love it do much!! I was a male dancer for 9+ years and was the first male pointe dancer at my dance studio! I really have come to appreciate how strong ballerinas really are. I did pointe for 3 gears and i loved every minute of it(except the 3 hours of sharpie-ing the shoes lol)! Love you ❤️❤️
Watching this was insanely exciting and scary. I found it much scarier than horror movies because the people are so incredibly talented and any injury could end their careers. But the photos are mind-blowingly gorgeous.
I love Jordans work, but I think that some of the dares that he made them do were a bit much, and that if they were to get injured it could end their dance careers and they could be really hurt. She was doing all sorts of crazy dares that were very extreme where as his dares whee a lot less extreme.
Yeah, she did like 90% of this
Theyre all trained professionals, so it is very unlikely for her to get injured
She does Cirque du Soleil lol If she wasn't comfortable doing these stunts, she wouldn't
The balance en pointe on the wine bottle was the most amazing feat I have ever seen! Some people can do the impossible...!
4:07 it’s the silent wheeze for me 😂😂
I have never seen anything like this. That bottle shot was stunning. She was a beautiful dance model!
How he gets his shots is insane.
Jordan: "You won't do..."
Me: "Sir your right!, I'm not getting in trouble for NOTHING"!!
Quick reminder to us mortal beings: THESE ARE PROFESSIONALS WHO KNOW HOW TO DO THESE THINGS VERY QUICKLY, DANGEROUSLY, AND AMAZINGLY
Mind blowing, so beautiful! The balance, the talent, the skill, the level of bravery 😍😍😍
They were some amazing and beautiful shots. I have to admit though, I winced a bit at the lamppost shoot!
your epic reactions are priceless. thank you. I needed an uplift today and this video hit the spot.
I actually witnessed this live. I was meeting my friend at grand central station and was loving every moment of this. I also saw when he was at the new 34th street station

That picture with the bottle is STUNNING. That and the one on the bridge with the light fading behind her. Gorgeous.
I would love to see you react to one of his videos with Sofie Dossi. They do a ten minute challenge in NYC and its INSANE.
‘I can’t even do a push up’ 😂 and I love your hair it’s so cute 🥰
Yay I love Jordan Matter and your reactions are the best!

OMG - love him of course but I love YOUR energy even more! Youre so amazing and beautiful in a fascinating way

I adore your personality ❤️❤️
That was amazing!! 👏
i love how shes says wow shes like "WOOOOUUUUWWW"
IN.SANE! so good! totally react to more jordan matter
Wow! The silks aerialist/ballet en pointe/strongest and most elegant woman EVER in the
red dress is SO AMAZING!! I've never seen anyone that talented! Her symphysis pubis joint must have seriously hurt the next day... that pole slam x 4-5 had to hurt. I'm a nurse practitioner... so there is the reason for the technical name for body parts. LOL! Great photography by Jordan. Everyone did great! Such talent and brazenness! "GET THE SHOT!"
The relationship between Alex and Jordan reminds me so much of the relationship I have with one of my childhood friends. I am the shy one who always asks for permission with everything but still go along with it and they are the extroverted creative and ambitious person who comes up with the most fun things. It’s so great to be friends with someone like that.
The aerialist is amazing!
"WOW" I love it!
A bottle? That made me tear up!! Incredible 💕
I almost had tears falling when that picture came out of her on pointe on the bottle 😂
I'm loving her reactions so much hahah
That swinging from a strap on a lamp post was the worst one, anxiety wise.
No idea how I got to this video, but it was AMAZING! Thanks!
Wow!! They are really good!!
All I can say is wow.... Total respect....
Please do more I loved watching your reaction!!!!!
Love your videos & Jordon Matters! Bought my daughters dance studio director one of his photo books as a hoilday gift.
Ashlee and I I actually went to the same studio in Washington when Wade Walthall was the Artistic Director of ECB. I love when I get to see videos like this of her a Richard, it makes me so happy to see her success after seeing how determined she was! She's truly the sweetest!
Is Ashlee a human being?? :O I can't believe what she is doing...
i follow her and richards instagram...thye just do this stuff all the time in their stories.
This same dancer/performer as did the Christmas tree bottle arebesque Tiktok video she reacted to earlier this year! She’s so good!
all are amazing!!
Love this !❤️
Amazing! I am a poler & aerialist. This is everything! Love it
her wheezing always gets me hahaha!
I love your videos so much!
