I agree! I wondered as soon as she got en pointe if Josephine could take a look and tell us WHY they work so well on her. Don't know if that's entirely possible, but I would think if anyone could figure it out, it would be an expert fitter.
I did NOT expect these shoes to be anything other than a disaster. What a fascinating video...and so enjoyable to watch your face as they *were* supportive shoes instead of disasters!
Well, when you think about it pointe shoes are 100+ year old technology so if the Chinese factories got the right kind of lasts it's not hard to duplicate the techniques and the materials and labor would be cheaper. Pointe shoes are expensive because they are made primarily in Western countries where the cost of labor/materials is very high.
@@NatashaEstradayeah my friend gave me pointe shoes from China and they weren’t allowed. My parents forced me to bring them bc they didn’t wanna buy them but we had to
I think those pointe shoes come from the same manufacturer that does Sansha's Recital shoes. The bottom stitching and embossing look exactly the same, the long vamp and very square box are almost identical, and Sansha's shoes are made in China. I've seen these shoes all over Amazon and Wish and have heard they're not the worst depending on your foot shape.
Yah. They break kinda low but I've seen worse fitting shoes on people who've had professional fittings. I'd be curious to know how long they last, though.
This was great! I understand why Josephine loves you so much! I’m even older (Much older ) than Josephine and watching both of you inspires me to continue dancing for myself. Old dancers never truly retire. They just find other avenues to dance on!
Some beginner pointe students in the Philippines (where I am from) buy these to save money. If they're not actually dancing on the shoes but only use them at the barre, then I guess it's fine. Of course, it depends on the teacher, but we're a 3rd world country and not everyone can afford $100 shoes.
Actually, I'm also a dancer from the Philippines, and pointe shoes are EXPENSIVE!!! They're around 4900 to 5000 pesos, right??? 😭 I actually get my pairs from Korea because none of the Philippines' available models fit me well. I end up paying even more. 😭😭😭😭😭
"So supportive" - not surprised, as they look like two, big, almost square boxes!! You could probably place them upright on the floor and they will not fall over. At the price, I'm tempted to buy them as decorative objects. I used to dance as a girl, and when I stopped in my late teens I decided to keep my last pair as a keepsake - but alas, my mother, who never was very supportive of my doing ballet, threw them away in my absence 💔 I was heartbroken to say the least.
So infinitely better than the wish ones lol I am really surprised. I just got some $30 amazon latin shoes and they lasted through a few weeks of rehearsale plus the show so hey thats all that matters right??
So I actually wear Capezio Ava's and I absolutely love them lol. But girl I was not expecting those shoes to be that good. I think I might have to try them out.
@@mermaidopulence8539 Took me 2 years to get to that "pointe". I'm an adult dancer with feet that are too bendy for my own good. LOL! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
Pause at 2:20 Look at the shank, it's not flat and it's not pre-arched at the arch. It's bowing from right behind the big toe joint. This is exactly where you absolutely can NOT have any bending in that direction at all or the shoe is dead, you are knuckling and can not maintain proper alignment, which is not functional when you do more advanced steps and not safe, as you are not working your foot and ankle correctly. Mackenzie is very strong and capable of handling this brief trial use safely, but I certainly hope less experienced dancers do not attempt to use shoes like this to save money.
Looks like you liked the longer Vamp and the larger toe box platform. Maybe you ought to consider that for you next shoes, especially since the knuckles on your left foot seem like they don't get great coverage in your current shoes.
the amount of people who believes it’s alright to dance in these in the comments is terrifying to me, PLEASE GET A PROFESSIONAL FITTING, you still need an actual fitting with professionally made shoes, your feet are unique and to ensure your safety don’t mess around with these, you’re very likely injure yourself
by the way i recognised the the song playing at 3:35 its called od yishoma/yishama and its a jewish song usually sung/played at weddings. the lyrics in english are "Yet again there shall be heard, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem. The voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride."
I bought a different brand on Amazon and I absolutely loved them they are black and are so beautiful but Amazon really does not know about elastics so.... 🙄 I love your channel and I want you to try different Amazon ballet products and shoes ❤❤
I recently encountered these shoes, too. I was super skeptical and went through all the same thought processes. I like a longer vamp but these are yeeeeesh. I was shocked they were as supportive as they were.
The dance educator|instructor just took over: the moment you said, "I'm going to attempt to go up on Pointe now.." I was AUDIBLY SCREAMED GIRLLLL YOUb BETTER mean WITH YOUR BARRE and it was too late, I shrieked (thinking they would disintegrate and crumble to pieces) and by the grace of GOD everything was okay. I'm laughing and mindblown hahaah
Those remind me of what Balance European often looks like. (not a fan of that shoe btw) Reason I say that is how it looks like you are knuckling/sinking into the box. When you put your usual shoes on it was readily apparent that the cheap shoes were breaking significantly lower, which is probably why it looked so bad and ill fitting.
I don’t know anything about pointe shoes or ballet, I just enjoy watching. But even I could see that the heels on the Amazon shoes were hideous. Every time you went up they bulged out behind. 😂

I want to buy them because I have an idea for a painting I want to use them for but when I click on the link it says its not available anymore do you possibly remember what the page is called on Amazon?
If you feel safe wearing the shoes, feel safe going on pointe in the shoes, and your feet are comfortable, does it really matter what they look like for practice?
They really do look nice on you. Maybe use them for dances that need better support. I can see the support they give. I am 70 years old and my point shoes back 50 years ago, Capezios, were $20. I made 50 cents an hour and had to save and save for a pair of pointe shoes. I might get two pair a year unless "mamaclaus" got me some for Christmas. They were very stiff, too. We did not want to break them in too much at first, either, because the price was sooo prohibitive.
They don’t look bad at all lol. I actually tried some from TEMU too which weren’t bad either lol. You should try some of the “true” actual point shoes from 60’s, 70’s.

Wow i had just bought these! I feel so much more confident about it 😄 i ordered a size up just incase, but im wondering if theyre too lose now? I can fit my finger between my heel and the shoe, is that normal :?
@@jaylasucks9058 okay let me make something clear. You CAN‘T go on pointe without proper advice by an actual teacher. Ballet isn‘t something you can teach yourself.
