@@dwaalgeest8591 Im thinking its partially because they had no idea who Idles were. Heck less than two years before the band was frankly just another lost rock/pop act wearing white uniforms. Then something just snapped and they ceased to give a fuck which increased their band x1000. Particularly Joe stopped trying to be a singer and became a real front man.
@@dwaalgeest8591 I was one of them. I didn't even knew them, and after the festival it was the only thing I was listening to. It wasn't a punk crowd, and it was EXTREMELY hot.
I was lucky enough to see them play and then hand around with them after their Reading gig. The nicest band you'll ever meet, each of them an absolute gent. They're getting the more of the recognition that they deserve each and every day. They kill it every time they play!!
Once in a while a band comes along and you sit up and take notice. Idles are by far the best band in at least the last 15 to 20 years. Cant wait to see them in newcastle october 23rd
I don't really know idles. Caught a good review of one of their albums just about half an hour ago. I've just watched that first song. About halfway through the second. Not since Gallows, and G.L.O.S.S. have I been blown away like this.
I got to know them trough this performance, there was nothing else programed at Werchter at that hour and they played on the smallest stage. Ever since then i can't stop listening to this band, perfect execution of Punk. Also i knew they were going to be something else right after their soundcheck, they just started a worst singer contest between the band members, and had the croud with them before they even started, brilliant.
During Divide and Conquer, the other members are deliberately pissing off Bowen (Joe messing with his rig, and Lee almost stepping on his pedals) I suppose it's to make him mad during the last chorus. Genius!
Musicianship, quite a unique sound, and the messages within the songs really; Just within this set list - Mother (sexual violence against women/rape), 1049 Gotho (depression and mental health), Samaritans (masculinity and sexual orientation), Divide and Conquer (health care) And on their latest release you have songs like June (infant mortality) and my personal favourite Danny Nedelko (immigration) Couple this with the use of pop culture quotes from things like Star Wars and Harry Potter that are used in conjunction with these topics (in Danny Nedelko they quote Yoda's "fear leads to panic" relating to violence against immigrants) Lastly, every single clip I've seen of them performing, whether it's in the studio/festival/club show they put on a hell of a show
It's even ruthless to watch. An unscrupulous microphone begs him not to spit into it. I wouldn’t be in the place of that unfortunate microphone. He almost begs for his life not to spit any more. R.I.P mic
PUNK IS ALIVE! ROCK IS ALIVE! INCREDIBLE BAND!

No one can beat the English at music
USA can and always does.
H. Bloom doubt that
I would say it depends on the genre. Traditional punk is UK all the way, but Hardcore Punk is USA all the way
Correct
@@AleksandarBloom haha no!!
Rhythm section is weirdly so good. 😅
Rottweiler and love song unreleased songs?
New songs off their new LP which is coming in a week or so
I have tried to like this band but unfortunately it's just not my thing.. But credit to them they are a tight unit
Peter Mccartney sane with me except for me it’s Thee Oh Sees that I want to like and can respect, guess something’s just don’t click
Where i can get a shirt like that?
Fake Blood. Peacocks, a cheap chain in the UK.
Is that Geoff Ramsay from Rooster
Teeth?

How can the crowd (other than the few in front) stand there motionless? Seems physically impossible lol
Festivals are exhausting lol
What did Joe say at 14:55?
"Be kind' x

Or maybe it's not that deep :0
No he isn't, in fact he's happily married and has kids
It’s normal everywhere bro xx
He don't discriminate.
He's actually openly bisexual, thats kinda common knowledge
