i explained practical How to repair computer ATX switch mode power supply SMPS very easy. this PSU is using SDC2921 IC which is PWM and intelligent power supply monitor. i shared my easiest and perfect troubleshooting techniques practical troubleshooting. smps concept and troubleshooting repairing or understanding repair switching mode power supply basics and working principle. how to troubleshoot input electromagnet induction filter, EMI, bridge rectifier and capacitor. we get 330 VDC at main capacitor. after hat the +330 volts are applied to standby power, which is SMPS and makes +5V SB, these stand by voltage are applied to motherboard which pull down the PS ON green wire to zero level, so the ENABLE OR REMOTE ON or CONTROL pin of #smps will go low that will enable pulse width modulation. and also i discussed smps basics. after watching this video you can capable to:-

What if I have the PWM pulses in pins 7 and 8, but stil not getting 3.3, 5 and 12 volts in the output?

If the PWM has power but not switching, how to find which line has a short ? how many ohms between the yellow and black wire are considered normal ? can we put 12v from other source at the barrier rectifier and test the current at the exit to find the short ?

Geday mate.
I've being working on a Campaq ATX SMPS, without a schematic, which has no SB 5V+ on a purpule wire, however, the green switching wire do have +5V present. inspecting all the board etc, nothing seems to be damaged, looks like a new. but on the SB-5V wire Down to PCB print-out reads "FAN OFF " where the purpule wire attached. Any help to resolve this issue would be greatfull.

There is a second type of power supply that uses a separate Ic to monitor the output voltages . In this case a common fault case is the power supply turn on briefly and then turns off . Can you cover this type of power supply and this fault case
PSU can also latch off on power up if there is a fault if the voltage monitor IC latches the fault condition I think

Hi , thanks about your video, but I have a problem that did not find in your demonstrated. When I warm two termistors of near the two big capacitors my ATX run but after many mintus the ATX will be off. I thought the problem comes from Termistors and after changing with the new Termistors I have always the same problem. Another side when two wires Green and Black touch together the fan runs for just two degrees but when this contact is flactuately than fun runs!! I checked transistors, rectifire, capacitors and termistors and all of them are good.
Could you help me and you say to me what is wrong exactly

This is simpler PSU with voltage monitor and PWM functions integrated in one IC . There is a second type where you have one IC that monitors the output voltage and current and a second IC that controls the PWM function

I think problem is after signal transformer, i replaced some resistors and zeener diod yesterday but i'm not so sure about numeration of them. Do you have recomendation of atx diagram which could help me to get info on resistors and diode zeener sizing. Thanks
