    And whew, I wonder if I can get the thing back into its bag -- thanks for the handy tutorial on that!

      You're welcome! It takes a bit of practice, but after you get used to it, you can definitely stow the Webaround in about 15 seconds.

    Love this! I'd use it mostly for interpreting assignments that are very formal, such as court hearings. The only downside here is that I use my standing desk most of the time, and I like to interpret standing up. Would be great to have a stand for this so it's high enough to be a backdrop when I am standing.

      I imagine you could jury-rig something. All you really need is something chair-width to pop it on.

    I just purchased the web around. I am an interpreter and since a lot of assignments are on video, and my office looks pretty much like the one in this video, I felt the need to use a virtual background, of course, with all the bleed issues and fuzziness of my image when moving. However, and this is one good question, this screen works with programs that are compatible with chroma key, and when I checked their list Microsoft Teams wasn't on it. I just had an assignment yesterday and wanted to use the green screen, and while it was OK while sitting still, parts of the background appeared behind when I moved. I am not sure if that was because I didn't do something right (first time use) or because Teams doesn't like to 'play' with the green screen. What is your experience?
    I should have watched your tutorial before opening that thing, I popped it open and almost smacked myself in the face! :-)) For the folding of it as well... it is tricky the first time!

      Good point, Oana. Microsoft Teams does not currently support using an actual green screen and also doesn't seem to necessarily work better if you're using one anyway. What you can do is use an additional app as a "virtual camera". If you have a Logitech camera, you can use Capture (www.logitech.com/en-us/product/capture/). Alternatives include Personify ChromaCam (personifyinc.com/products/chromacam) or mmhmm (mmhmm.app).

    • @oanadrew4493
      @oanadrew4493 3 года назад

      @@techforword that is correct, it did not work any better when using Teams. But, i have to say that the " background effects" when moving seem to be better than in zoom, for example. I use the IMacs internal camera, which is very good, so what programs work with that? And preferably not have to pay a monthly subscription. One of the programs you recommended, when I checked it out, turned out to be with subscription.

    • @techforword
      @techforword  3 года назад

      The mmhmm app can be used for free for up to 60 minutes per day. Alternatively, OBS is free. Here's how to set that up: www.streamscheme.com/how-to-set-up-your-green-screen-in-obs/.

    I'd love to have one for my miniature office to come across as the professional I am! ;-) I'm just worried about the "Delivery to US addresses only" comment on their website...

      Due to the current situation, orders placed directly on the Webaround website can only be shipped to the United States. (As a result, the contest running through December 15, 2020 is also limited to US residents.)
      If you're in Europe, you can pick up a Webaround on Amazon. Please consider using our affiliate link. Your cost is unchanged, but we get a small commission which helps support our research: amzn.to/3gbIp4T
      And yes, a Webaround will definitely help you look professional! (See Josh's comment below.) 😅

    I tried this... And I don't like it. It moves every time you move on the chair, bad material causes too many sun reflects, round shape is not the best to cover all the background (rectangle). I do not reccomend it at all.

      I'm pretty pleased with the large-sized Webaround, and find that if I zoom/crop my camera, use the built-in stabilizer and adjust my lighting properly, many of the issues you mentioned are minimized. Bear in mind that this is my recommendation for a first or travel-friendly green screen. I also have a larger (more expensive) pull-up greenscreen from Elgato, which I love, but the cost is steeper and it doesn't travel well. Hope that helps!
