His submission against big nog was absolutely insane. Probably my favorite sub of all time
He’s the first person to ever submit big Nog too.
Big nog didn't tap either😭 just let it snap and went " dam I lost"😂😂
Dude - TOTALLY. Mine too.
When that shit happened live, it was the most brutal introduction for me to the kimura. Still fucks me up every time I see it.
Along with Jones brutally dropping Leoto after the standing guillotine (and walking away), that night was frighteningly raw to take in.
@@ReallyHim416
Actually it was the worst of both worlds for Nog - he both tapped AND had it broken in the most brutal fashion.
What was so crazy was that he'd had frank finished on the feet, had his revenge sealed, then suddenly, foolishly or pridefully, went for the takedown... And ended up on the wrong side of that fateful roll.
@@justinklenk damnnn Broo that brutal💀😳
Deserves to be in the hall of fame. Love Frank
What resilience ... in a career full of ups and downs and a murderer's row of opponents ... he kept coming back ... and coming back hard. Respect ...
and after a motorcycle accident! this guy is one of my fav fighters ever, very un recognized
Yeah, enough about Mark Hunt, though... 9:44
Frank had some good moments too.
with all those vicious shots he took to the head over many years it is a miracle he is not in a wheel chair mumbling and drooling on himself
ITP: 3 mins of Frank Mir
Also ITP: 10 mins of Frank Mir
Best call ever by Herb on that Silva submission. Everyone thought he fucked it up until the replay.
You can hear him say “oh shit” and immediately jump in.. Herb and Big John are the GoAT refs
2:04 That was the only toe hold submission i think i have ever seen in mma, frank's jiu jitsu was very high level for a heavyweight.
Especially for the time aswell. Wish I was around to watch him in his prime but I was like 5 🤣
Michael Venom Page landed one in Bellator
Its still to this day the only submission by toe hold in ufc history
his jj was very high level for any weight
@@rougeegamer98 That fight happened when I was in Highschool, MMA was getting more popular but wasn't at the level it is today. I was a big Mir fan already but everyone my age was on the Lesnar hype train because he was really big from WWE. Everyone was saying "he's too big and strong, he'll just get him down and pound him!" And I was like I hope he does cause you just wait and see what happens once Mir goes to the ground. A minute and a half into the fight and we got one of the best submissions in the UFC. Never has an "I told you so" sounded so sweet.
Bro that shane carwin KO on Mir took 6 years from his life. Brutal...
Gotta be one of the worst late stoppages ever
Took some serious head trauma in that Lesnar rematch too
and the Lesnar KO. Herb Dean and Big Dan are horrible refs lol
Literally, if not more.
@@bannedaccount6016 hindsight is 20/20
Wether he won or lost it’s safe to say Frank Mir always entertained and put it all on the line. What a legend of the sport.
Frank mir is a legend
A bum
@@shoresy4084 I'm sorry, how many UFC titles do you have?
@@shoresy4084 he would take your limb off...

Before his Motorcycle Accident he was in track to be the best ever.
Bit of an exaggeration but i feel ya
Best ever heavyweight maybe, but that’s a big maybe
Even after the accident he had some of the best finishes of his life. Can't imagine how different his career would be if that car hadn't hit him tho
He still had great wins even after.
And then he came back and thought he was a pure striker.
How Tim Sylvia didn’t start screaming in pain shows a huge pain tolerance
I believe he actually admitted in an interview that he was hopped up on painkillers in that fight. The UFC wasn't nearly as diligent with its drug testing back then. He said he was thankful that Herb Dean spotted the broken arm because he honestly couldn't feel it. Could've taken some serious, permanent damage.
People can say whatever they want about Tim Sylvia but he was a beast.
I don’t think he even felt it.
Always loved watching Mir. Seeing a big guy so mobile from the bottom was so cool to see.
Prime Frank Mir is merciless with those submissions.
Didn't really realize it until this vid, but Mir fought some absolute monsters for most of his career. Thanks for the memories, Frank!
In his prime and before that unfortunate accident, Big Frank was the best technical heavyweight i've ever seen.
Imagine a heavyweight with Cyrils stand up and mirs jiu-jitsu
@@ugatahrah we got that...Jon Jones
okay maybe not as good as both but still
He was technical in a grappling sense, but not in a combat/MMA sense. He too often forgot about defending from strikes on the ground and absorbed huge punishment chasing submissions.
I think that title has to go to Tom aspinall now
Absolute hall of famer. Always one of my favorite fighters.
You could easily do one for Alistair Overeem aswell
All heavyweights have this problem if they stay in the game long enough.
@@AguyR1401 yeah but Reem had that problem since the Pride days
Stipe miocic was a fun fight
Frank is my all time favorite heavyweight. He’s probably the greatest submission specialist in the history of MMA, and he’s got the tape to prove it. His jiu jitsu is absolutely insane. The way he scrambled out of Big Nog’s guillotine, to find a kimura, which was his deadliest finisher, and then snippety papped the legend’s arm like that. It was a thing of absolute beauty. He always played fast and loose with his standup game, which is why his record looks the way it does. His standup defense was weak, but he was a deceptively good striker. The crazy thing is if you lined him up against every member of the Gracie family in their prime, he’d submit every single one of them, or add their bones to his trophy case. What an all time great. 👏🏻
i would agree that he is in the top overall in mma and the best heavyweight submission fighter ever in mma
I remember watching every single one of these fights live. many on AOL.
I'll always remember Herb Dean during the Mir v Sylvia fight going "OH SHIT" when he saw Sylvia's broken arm.
Yeah I saw the video too
Always loved watching Frank !!!! Never gets the credit he fully deserved, some great wins and a solid career :)
His sub on big nog got me start jiu jitsu, and i recently got my black belt. Thanks Frank Mir!
Too short period for getting black belt. Too many black belts walking around and making jiujitsu looking bad 😅😅

My first fav UFC fighter back when I was a kid, dudes an unbelievably tough legend
Same
True bro I luv Frank mir when he beat Brock he was my favourite
One of the best if not the best compilation channel on RUclips
pre-crash mir is legendary. was my fav fighter back in the day
Cheers to mir on a great career!
Love Frank Mir. Absolute legend. Just wish he went to better camps early on to look after his conditioning, striking defence and game planning. Could have been a true monster.
I think he got to "true monster" level. Two wins over Big Nog is epic.
Frank new life wasn't all about the fight, he clearly liked a beer an some Veg too feed that mass.
Mate this is so good! A golden era of the ufc through Mir's career.
In honestly surprised nobody has attempted that shoulder lock from the bottom since.
Now these are some fucking sick submissions
Mir and Werdum are probably the best submission experts at HW in mma history. Honorable mention to Josh Barnett too.
Herb Dean audibly yelling "oh shit" is one of the funniest things to happen during a UFC fight
What a great vid. Mir is a legend!
Honestly was one of my fav fighters growing up 💯💯
The sad piano during the losses is hilarious 😂
You have the best 3 minute videos ever
Can you make one of Jimi manuwa? Most exciting fighter in history every fight of his career beside 2 were finishes, either him or his opponent.

Frank Mir knows how to dish it out, and knows how to take it 👍 From Guam, USA 🇺🇸
It always hurt me a little inside whenever I saw Frank get TKO/KO’d. Loved watching him throw down over the years. That kimura against Big Nog is most definitely one of the top 3 submissions of all time
one of the best grapplers in HW
Mir was my favorite heavyweight back in the day
I miss when there was more slick submissions like this in the ufc that’s what made me love the sport
3 minutes but we get 10 fook yea
We missed you❤
Frank Mir is a beast no doubt about it!
Frank was one of the best examples of a live by the sword, die by the sword type guy. He wasn't coming to point fight you and be happy with a decision. He was coming to take you out, sometimes it would lead to him getting taken out, or emptying the tank and having nothing left to defend himself. But it was always very clear Frank wanted your neck, not just the W.
Mr.Mir was a really good Martial Artist , so execting fighter with amazing technique.
Always one of my favorite fighters to watch back in the day !
Purposely breaking bones ! Savage !!!
Mir's out of nowhere Very Good Boxing is what made me a Mir Fan...that and his turn as a WEC announcer. Dude changed up his whole game when he came back from that horrific knee injury.
Frank Mir was great at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and vise versa
Mir the submission king💪
Frank Mir deserves all the respect in the world. No one can deny he fought absolute titans in the sport.
Love Frank Mir. Scary SOB, humble and intelligent.
Frank Mir was an absolute weapon, and a Solid dude. I remember buying UFC 146 as a teen and being disappointed by that fight, he gassed out a lot quicker than usual. A legendary fighter, one of a kind.
One of the best heavyweight submission master
Frank needs to be recognized as a top 5 or even top 3 greatest heavyweights. He is easily the greatest heavyweight submission specialist... And that alone should have him in the top 5.
Not only a great fighter but a great man. I look up to Frank in many ways. Only wish he maybe made some changes in his career to stay competitive for longer.
I got to work with frank mir in phoenix not too long ago. Man is a well of knowledge. Honor to work with 🙏
I remember disliking him so much as a kid over the tank fight but damn the dude has fought giant ko monsters and kept taking those fights anyways. Much respect to the man
One thing you have to give Frank. It never ended with the crowd sat down.
The list of legendary opponents is pretty unreal.
Seeing this I don't understand how Mr. Mir is still able to make a simple sentence. Bravo, sir. You are the answer why UFC is that big nowadays...
Love that frank didn’t care about breaking bones either you tap or it will snap lol
Ian Freeman delivered a brutal beating. One of the best uk fighters ever.
Mir was a Monster when I first got into MMA
He was a reason to buy the paper view as his fights never once were boring.
I appreciate you keeping the videos to three minutes like the title says🙏
Win or lose, I love the big man style ground work. The shoulder crank is epic. Never repeated since!!!!
That Duffy one was the craziest finish ever.
He stayed snappin' arms 💪
Paul craig : its tap nap or snap
Frank mir : its snap snap or snap
In a sport of true gladiators I’m just in awe of somebody that has had such a long and successful career. What a warrior.
Something we always loved about Frank Mir. One of two things would happen every time he got rocked in a fight:
1. He would be mercilessly beat into oblivion.
2. He would come back and end the fight with the most spectacular KO/Sub you’ve ever seen.
Frank is a true American man🇺🇲
This guy was intense. I didnt knew he won so many monsters, crop, 2 times Miinotauro. Video top!!!😊
Been pretty quiet lately with the vids but so happy your back love the shit
Back before Father Time caught up to him, his only weakness was inconsistency. It really is a shame about the motorcycle accident.
Best submission/grappler for a heavyweight I ever saw. He also could hit hard and could box. He had bad defense though and displayed a puzzling lack of respect for big punchers. He was never a boring fighter and some of his fights are my favorite to watch.
Man, I love the music changes! It goes from rockin’ beach party for the wins to “a very special episode of Gilmore Girls” for the losses.
Frank 'the grandchild of ground n pound' mir
Absolut Legend 💪🏽
His submissions were sharp AF for a big build like his. Tap or Snap was the perfect motto for him. Brutal.
One of the greatest ever
I like the music changes from the wins and defeats 😂😂
Frank Mir vs DC or Jones would've been hella interesting to watch
Frank's finishes over Big Nog are my favorite. Imagine if he fought Fedor a decade earlier than he did.
He would have lost all the same.
Him and Fedor were at the same stage of their careers when they finally fought and Fedor always had a style that didn’t bode well for Mir
Dont you mean his finishedes? Lol!!! Look at the thumbnail!
Such a legend
Legend
I love Frank Mir. A man who sacrifices his body and brain cells just to put on a good show for the people. I wish I can meet him and take a pic with him and tell him how much I appreciate what he has brought to this sport. His submissions brings tears to my eyes. Tears of happiness because it is an art that normal people don't understand how much time and hours he has put in to master his techniques and submit other masters like big nog. A man who is never afraid of any fights, and always put on a good show, win or lose. Much much much respect and love for you big man Frank Mir. I wish you enjoy the rest of your life in good health. Heal up and enjoy life. You have done enough for this sport. Love you man
Frank Mir was great !
Mir was gotdam phenom until the motorcycle wreck slowed him down...he still went on to have a great career. I always wondered what would've been had he not lost time due to a wreck.
Frank Mir is definitely a Top 5 All-Time Heavyweight Fighter. He could stand and strike or break your arm in an instant. I never seen a fighter come back from so many vicious beatings outta nowhere! Very versatile and would always rebound after a loss in big ways!
Legend.
What a career!
That Mark Hunt walkoff was the nastiest one punch KO's I've ever seen, it's up there with Ngannou's one time of Overeem, but with no need for any Hammerfists (Hulk Smash)!!!
This is a man amongst men.
best heavyweight submission artist
My all time favorite fighter!
My first favorite HW was Fedor in Pride! Frank Mir was my favorite in UFC! He fought monsters!
I loved Frank. I once got that same finish in review class he pulled on Tank. I watched it a few weeks before and never tried it. The guy i submitted was like wtf was that? I couldn't believe it worked
