- This video demonstrates the installation of the Radio-Upgrade GPS Navigation In-Dash DVD Car Stereo for the Chevy Tahoe, Silverado, and Suburban. The save video applies to the GMC Yukon, Suburban, and Truck.
Props, for using a plastic wedge to remove the trim panels. After 15 years of installs I get mad when I see some "kid" installer use a small flat head driver to do this. I always feel like yelling at them, " just because you are a bronze level mecp, dose not mean you know what you are doing with that screw driver". Which is another thing that jerks me the wrong way, I will not hire a bronze level mecp unless they have five year experience. Or they have a cert form a school that is top quality, not a mail order school. II Daytona beach to me is the best tech school I have come across. I took many courses there back in the early 2000s, I don't anymorethough as the head teacher there was my boss for years, so unless things change drastically in the 12v world no need as of yet. Keep up the good vids, and good practices, maybe we can weed out the shade tree mecps after all just by doing quality work. Nothing ruins it for mecp installers more then dinging up the edges of trim pieces by a crappy installer. Once it happens that person will not trust any installer again. I have run into many people like this over the years.
Information about the Radio and wiring harnesses would be nice. Also the year of the SUV and what works with the radio and what doesn't work with it.

Great video. my only comment would be never mount an antenna underneath the dash. otherwise great vid.

will an ebay style dvd , nav stereo from ebay and china install easily or do you recommend any place to buy aftermarket I have a GMC sierra Denali truck the ones from ebay dont have manufacturer part numbers so I can't match my VIN# part to it.

I want to know which stereo that was too... @Kendra There was an attachment that came with the stereo for the rear cam. @rooster there was another attachment also that came with the stereo which is called the cam bus decoder. it was the little box that he picked up.

Hi, thanks much for the info, is this unit from GM dealer or aftermarket, I was wondering if I can use a similar unit like this on Impalas Lt 07, 08, 09 because we have 3 of them, if you have any info or tips please let me know, or anyone read this comment, we have some who injured in iraq and I need todo this to him.
It's an android based aftermarket system. They are using Universal mounting so as long as your vehicle has double din openings it should work with the included cables.

I want to install kenwood DNX692 but retain OEM rear seat entertainment. 2009 suburban. thoughts on how to accomplish this?

what abou the steering wheel controls and backup camera. do they still work without any extra equipment.
