- I ranked every Spider-Man game I've ever played starting from Spider-Man 2000 all the way up to the brand new Spider-Man 2 from Insomniac games.
I've been playing Spider-Man games since I could hit the toilet by myself so this was a lot of fun to do :D

My biggest issue with Marvels Spider-Man 2 is that the post game crime is too repetitive.
It’s barely generic crimes, mainly dealing with hunters, symbiote hordes or the arsonist cult. Also, anytime there is someone who needs to be saved it’s always the same dude with headphones, you never save a women in trouble it’s always the same dude.
Yes Marvels Spider-Man 1 post game crime was a little repetitive but at least there was more generic crimes like weapon dealers, drug dealers, break in’s, store front robberies etc. in Spider-Man 2 they completely removed store front robberies and I barley get generic crimes.
I just did a test, out of 10 crimes 9 were Hunters, Cultist or Symbiote hordes. Only 1 was a generic crime, but it turned into a fight against hunters.
Marvel's Spider-Man PS4 was the worst of the 3 in my opinion
I'm not even really opposed to the "ultimate spiderman is overrated" take, but you didn't convince me
Ultimate Spider-Man was good if you played it during that PS2 era. It's the only game besides marvel alliance 1 and 2 where you can freely play as venom
Spiderman 3 on ps2 ran so good and when i tried 3 on ps3 it felt like the frame rate was gonna nuke my system
Mate honestly I wish I played the ps2 version again, low key loved how they handled the symbiote in that version

The ultimate game was written by the same writer as the ultimate spiderman comics and came out right in the middle of the comic run which originally ran from 2000-2011 if i remember correctly.
It was an adaptation of an arc the came out about a year or so before the game. Most of the events have been heavily altered in the game.
Finally someone giving some much deserved love to Miles Morales maybe im looking in the wrong spots but man i feel like Spider-Man Miles Morales has been consistently thrown some fuckin undeserved shade and i never got it so glad someone finally gives ot the love it deserves fr
Miles morales in that universe in general is just… ugh… i love miles morales the character, but the way they used Peter to lift miles in Spider-Man 2 just left a nasty taste in my mouth. There is no reason Spider-Man over 8-10 years into his career should be dying nearly 10 times within a week just to be saved by miles morales over and over again. They are really trying to hammer in the “miles is a better Spider-Man” idea, and it’s pretty infuriating the disrespect Peter is getting…
And i LOVED miles stand-alone game at that.
I played Spider-man 2000 but never got far, like most games as a kid. I didn't beat Sonic The Hedgehog til 2005
Agree with everything except for your Ultimate Spiderman take, which was the absolute worst anyone could ever make in all of humankind. Miles Morales gets bonus charm points for being more basic and cutting the fluff, while those are considered huge cons for Ultimate Spiderman? I don't get it. Easy S tier that game is, even if it is quite short. It is also extremely replayable, even more so than the newer games. So I disagree with that point as well. And you overrate the fighting complexity of Spiderman 2 while completely exaggerating how basic the combat was in Ultimate. There's not that much difference from my memory, but hey, I played them years ago so what do I know?
Besides that, Spiderman 1 could also warrant a bump up on the list to A tier just for having really well thought out Green Goblin gameplay. And also the rogues in that game were great.
Well Spider-Man 2 just has way more going on you can manually control your webs combine that with light attacks heavy attacks air combos juggling swinging while holding enemys webbing enemys onto lampposts webbing up multiple enemys at once etc etc
I respect that you disagree but maybe give both of them another shot via emulation or ps2 and I think your opinion will change slightly at minimum. That’s just me though maybe I’m just weird :D

Let me defend ultimate Spider-Man web swinging. Yes it is a downgrade compared to 2 but it’s still good. The reason why it’s still liked is because it’s a lot smoother than it was in 2. Being able to swing while climbing and immediately wall running and then jumping off back into a swing is something many fans love to do in ultimate. Yeah you can do it in 2 but it’s a bit trickier than ultimate.
Damn edge of time for me is a nostalgia fest, I remember coming back from school playing it when i was like 5, and getting confused with the part at the start where u climb through a vent and theres like a scan or something in there

spiderman 2 on the other hand ummmmm ummmm it had a story i guess and i guess it had a wanna be devil trigger and um no stealth but um at least the ability wheel was cool i guess
